What keelearning is

keelearning is a learning platform built for training frontline staff: the people in production, logistics, retail and other jobs where, as the homepage puts it, there is no desk. Its headline is "Lernplattform für Frontline-Teams" (learning platform for frontline teams), and it is used for both employee and customer training. The company's own comparison article describes it as a combined LMS and LXP (learning experience platform) for companies that want to bring together practical learning, microlearning and knowledge management. The site states that keelearning is GDPR compliant (DSGVO-konform), ISO-certified and hosted exclusively on German servers.

The FAQ is direct about the target customer: companies with roughly 100 employees or more that train frontline workers or distributed teams, for example in retail, logistics, production, or software companies that need to train their customers. The industry pages add system gastronomy, electrical engineering, academies, hotels, construction, healthcare and pharma, and franchise systems.

How training works, in four steps

The homepage sums up the workflow as create, assign, complete and track. Companies start either with ready-made, audit-proof courses from the keelearning library or with their own courses built from text, video, quizzes and automatic certificates. Learners are invited by email, through the app, with a voucher code or through single sign-on, and courses can be assigned automatically by location, department or role, which matters for staff who have no company email address. The blog adds role- and tag-based learning paths for personalizing what each person sees.

Employees then learn in the app or a browser, on any device, during a break, in the warehouse or on the way to a shift. Quiz battles, comments and chat are meant to turn this into a shared knowledge community rather than isolated learning. On the tracking side, administrators see who has completed which course and where people are stuck, with full evaluations, completion certificates and records the site calls "revisionssicher" (audit-proof) at the push of a button. Mandatory training can be assigned automatically, live and online sessions are managed in the same system, and an escalation management feature is there to head off compliance risks before they arise.

The authoring tool

For the course-authoring side, keelearning has its own AI-supported authoring tool built into the platform, so no extra software is needed. The authoring page pitches it at subject-matter departments that want to turn their knowledge into training without waiting for L&D or an agency. Authors can start from a template, from onboarding through to compliance, or build a course from scratch with help from the AI, which includes an AI question generator for course and test questions.

Courses combine videos, PDFs, presentations and text, and the tool supports short microlearning units instead of long chapters. Everything is assembled by drag and drop. keelearning automatically generates subtitles for videos so they can be followed in noisy places or with the sound off. Authors can import PPT presentations, checklists and PDF handouts as supporting material, add feedback surveys, and integrate existing web-based trainings in SCORM or xAPI format. Tests produce a certificate that participants receive by email or download inside the software. Content is edited centrally and changes reach all learners immediately, and translations can be made available to staff and customers in other languages with one click.

Ready-made courses and managed content

The homepage advertises 160+ ready-made courses plus customizable content. According to the FAQ, the built-in course library comes without hidden costs and includes practical courses on data protection, occupational safety, hygiene and HACCP, the German food information regulation (LMIV) and training for new managers, among others. Paid courses from content partners can be booked on top. For companies without time to produce content, a managed service takes over course production and ongoing curation.

Engagement, community and languages

Gamification is a central part of the product: quiz battles, high scores and badges, which the site says make employees learn voluntarily and keep going. Beyond courses, the platform has a media library and news feed for documents and announcements, chat and evaluation tools for feedback, and a knowledge community in which an AI chatbot answers standard questions while employees share practical know-how, all searchable in one place.

Language support is a major selling point for frontline teams. The FAQ says keelearning is available in over 20 languages, including English, Turkish, Albanian, Russian, Spanish and Chinese, and that more are added continuously. An AI autotranslate feature translates the platform, messages and content into the language of each employee or customer with one click, and the chat also runs with autotranslate for international teams.

Administration, integrations and branding

Administrators manage learners, groups and access, and set precise permissions through admin and user roles. Multi-tenancy lets one system host separate learning environments for partners, franchisees or customers, each with its own branding and reporting. The platform can be fully branded and white-labeled with the company's logo, colors and design, for employees and customers alike. Integrations named on the homepage are SAP, Microsoft Teams and single sign-on "und viele weitere" (and many more), and the integrations menu mentions interfaces to HR, CRM and other tools, along with an API. New customers get admin training, onboarding and personal support, which the blog describes as 1:1 onboarding with the customer success team.

Pricing

Prices are not listed on the homepage. The FAQ says keelearning offers "ein transparentes Core-Paket mit optionalen Add-ons" (a transparent core package with optional add-ons) matched to company size and requirements, with individual prices given in conversation. Buyers can explore an interactive product tour on their own or book a personal demo.

Customer stories

The case studies on the homepage give a sense of scale. Kamps moved annually recurring mandatory training for more than 3,500 employees in 360 branches from classroom sessions to the app. Blume 2000 trains more than 2,300 employees across more than 250 branches in several languages. MS Direct trains 690 employees at 8 sites in logistics, and its business analyst says in a quote that training in employees' native languages strengthens understanding and motivation. DATAflor, a software company, is presented under the headline "+200 % Umsatz durch keelearning" (+200% revenue through keelearning), and its authorized signatory says that in the first 7 weeks it made more revenue than in the whole previous quarter. Signia uses keelearning for product knowledge and podcasts.

Who it suits

keelearning suits mid-sized and growing companies with many frontline or deskless workers, multilingual staff, and recurring mandatory training that has to be documented, such as retailers, restaurant chains, logistics firms and manufacturers. Its authoring tool and ready-made library let a small training team get started quickly, and the multi-tenancy and white-label options also fit franchise systems and software companies that train customers and partners. Companies with strict data protection needs or a works council to satisfy will find German hosting and GDPR compliance stated plainly.
