What Kampster is

Kampster is an AI learning platform that combines course management with personalized lessons, skill assessments and an AI tutor. It is sold two ways: to individuals who want to learn toward a goal of their own, and to teams that want to create courses, assess each person and follow progress. The FAQ adds that universities and government organizations can use it too. Its homepage tagline is "Learn what you need. With your AI tutor.", and it says the platform is "Trusted by 1M+ learners", elsewhere putting it as more than 1 million learners trained across businesses, governments and universities.

In a post on the company blog, Kampster's CTO and co-founder describes the product as doing "everything you expect from an LMS", meaning courses, delivery, progress and certificates, with those functions sitting on top of AI-driven authoring, personalization, verified assessment and what he calls capability intelligence. The platform menu reflects that: AI Course Creator, Skill Assessments, Upskilling & Courses, AI Assistant, AI LMS and Skill Intelligence.

How learning works

A learner starts with a goal, such as preparing for an interview or learning to use AI at work, and either chooses a course for it or turns their own material into lessons. An assessment then finds the starting point: what the person already knows and where to focus next. From there, lessons adapt to the learner's level and progress. The homepage's line for this is "Same subject. Your own path.", and it notes that each person can follow a different path through the same course.

The AI tutor sits beside the lessons. Learners can ask it about their course or about documents they uploaded and then check the sources behind its answers. They can also rehearse a job interview or a difficult conversation with the tutor before facing it in real life, and practice speaking through role-play. The homepage frames the habit it wants to build as ten minutes on your next goal each day, illustrated as "10 minutes a day. 60+ hours a year." Lessons and AI-guided practice work on a laptop or phone.

The goal tracks on the homepage are AI at Work, Language Learning, Critical Thinking and My Documents, and the resources menu lists a course library and a skill test library. Progress is recorded over time: individuals keep their own dated progress record, and teams can track skill development across the group.

Language learning

Languages get their own track, with the promise "Speak from day one. Practise real conversations." The homepage shows how this plays out. In "German for work", a learner preparing to meet German clients has introduced a proposal and is set to practice answering the clients' questions next. In "French for travel", a learner who wants to explore Paris in French has ordered at a café and moves on to asking a local for directions. The lessons are built around the situation the learner actually faces rather than a fixed syllabus, and speaking practice with the AI tutor starts from the beginning.

Creating courses from your own content

For course authors, the main feature is the AI Course Creator. On the Teams plan, an organization can create courses from its own content, then assign courses and assessments to people. The blog post describes the aim as "Knowledge activation", where "the institutional know-how you already own becomes structured, verified learning", and argues that when a course can be generated and refreshed from source material in minutes, a whole catalog can be kept current.

Kampster addresses accuracy directly in its FAQ. It says it grounds generated material and answers in specific source content, that the assistant tells you when it cannot find an answer, and that users should check important information against the cited source. Each AI-generated lesson and assessment question carries a declaration showing how it was made.

For teams and L&D

The Teams plan includes everything in Personal plus course creation from your content, team management, assignment of courses and assessments, and tracking of team skills and progress. The blog post describes what verified assessment adds up to for an organization: a live picture of workforce capability, including verified competencies, gaps against strategic priorities, and "concentration risk where critical skills sit with too few people".

The solutions menu lists AI literacy training, language learning, employee onboarding, skills-based hiring, compliance training, EU AI Act compliance and clinical trial training. On the EU AI Act, the FAQ explains that Article 4 asks AI providers and deployers to support AI literacy for staff who work with AI without requiring a specific test or certificate, and that Kampster can assess each person, personalize role-appropriate learning and keep dated records to support Article 4 readiness. It adds that this is not legal advice and should be paired with the customer's compliance team.

Pricing

Both plans are priced on the homepage. Personal costs $20 per month and includes skill assessments, lessons around your goals, uploading and learning from documents, the AI tutor with role-play practice, and personal progress tracking. Teams costs $25 per active user per month. The site defines an active user as "someone who signed in and performed at least one learning action during the billing month", so people who do nothing in a month are not billed, and the FAQ adds: "Business accounts start at 10." Teams is sold through a "Talk to sales" button rather than self-service signup.

Data, privacy and deployment

The homepage says Kampster "is built to SOC 2 controls and follows ISO 27001 practices", describes it as GDPR-aligned, and says customer content is never used to train anyone's model under a Zero Data Retention policy. For larger customers, an enterprise setup can connect supported AI providers with the customer's own API keys, and a private deployment can run in the customer's own cloud or data center, connected to its own AI models, database, storage and servers. Both options come with different commercial terms, and the private deployment needs technical planning.

Testing, support and who it suits

The homepage says students at Johannes Kepler University, the London School of Economics and The Chinese University of Hong Kong have tried the adaptive lessons and given feedback on usability and engagement. Technical support is by email, with a screenshot of the problem, and the legal pages include a refund policy.

Kampster suits an individual who wants short daily practice toward a specific goal, whether that is using AI at work, preparing for an interview or speaking a new language. It also suits a team or L&D function that wants to turn internal documents into courses quickly, assess skills rather than count completions, and pay only for people who actually learn in a given month. Organizations with strict data rules have the private deployment and own-key options.
