What iTopTraining offers
iTopTraining is a Spanish company that builds, hosts and supports learning management systems for companies, training centers and NGOs. Its "LMS para empresas" offer is a corporate training platform that the company sets up around each client's structure, roles and legal obligations, then runs and maintains as an ongoing service. The homepage FAQ is open about the technology: the platforms are developed on open-source software such as Moodle, extended with the company's own features for exam simulations, advanced reports, user management and automation. The team is based in Madrid, and the site stresses that all of its technical staff work in Spain, with no outsourcing.
The pitch to a company's training department is order and proof. The LMS page describes the problem as training that has outgrown email, reminders, spreadsheets and manual checks, and promises to centralize it, automate the follow-up, and produce evidence that holds up in an audit. iTopTraining also sells the same pieces separately: plugins for an existing Moodle site, content digitization, a mobile app, hosting, and a review service for platforms built by someone else.
Running corporate training
The platform organizes training by responsibilities, areas, business units or clients. Content is assigned by job role, so each person sees only the training that matches their position, site and duties, and access to documents is restricted per center, team or client. Training plans can be structured by role, area or group, covering both internal development and mandatory, regulated training.
Administrators get one view of who has completed each course, who is still pending and what evidence exists. The platform automatically records access, progress, completion, assessments and certificates, and the site presents these records as ready for internal audits, labor inspections and reviews linked to SEPE or FUNDAE, the Spanish public employment service and the state foundation that handles subsidized company training. Mandatory renewals are tracked automatically, so a required course does not quietly lapse, and when regulations change the platform can roll out an update to the affected groups and log when and how it happened.
Independent environments are a core feature. A company can run separate spaces for units, branches or client organizations inside one platform, with segregated data, access and documents. Surveys and internal assessments help identify training needs per department, and reports track progress and the level of competency acquired by individual, team and department. The LMS page names typical course areas: onboarding, occupational risk prevention, equality and diversity, data protection, technical and process training, training for clients or partners, and corporate compliance.
Follow-up and communication
Automation of learner communication gets a whole section of the homepage. iTopTraining configures rules that detect inactivity, low performance or approaching deadlines and trigger messages on the right channel, from welcome messages to deadline reminders and congratulations when a module is finished. Tutors or managers are alerted when a learner has been offline for a long time or is falling behind. Email, SMS, WhatsApp and video calls run from a single follow-up panel, with integrated VoIP and a full history of every interaction.
Content, standards and certificates
For content, the company's add-on features include curricula and catalogs by role or department, realistic exam simulations, content distribution through SCORM, LTI and open standards, and content protection with watermarks. Completion rules can be based on time, activities and assessment, and diplomas and verifiable certificates are generated automatically. A content team turns manuals, presentations and PDFs into SCORM courses, interactive videos, microlearning and gamified material, with subjects such as workplace safety, compliance, data protection, cybersecurity, quality procedures, customer service, sales, leadership and onboarding.
The SEPE and FUNDAE work is where iTopTraining is most specific. Its SEPE module implements the SOAP protocol SEPE specifies, syncs continuously, and produces audit evidence of attendance, grades, time spent and access, so a training center can deliver official Certificados de Profesionalidad online. The homepage says this module scales from 1 to 10,000 learners at the same price, as a one-time payment with no subscription. The FUNDAE module controls connection times, exports final surveys in XML, issues diplomas with the fields FUNDAE requires, and is described as aligned with WCAG level AA and with Spanish and EU data protection law (RGPD and LOPD), with SSL encryption.
AI add-ons
The homepage describes several AI features that can be added to a platform. A generative AI assistant inside a course answers learner questions from the course's own content using a RAG setup, can be trained on internal manuals and regulations, and is switched on per course. An early-warning model combines learner behavior signals to flag likely dropouts while there is still time to act. A recommendation engine suggests the next course based on what each person already knows, and an AI conversation partner lets language learners practice speaking inside Moodle. A custom dashboard can pull the platform's data together with HR, ERP and CRM figures.
Integrations, hosting and support
The site names integrations with GoToWebinar, Zoom, CRMs, ERPs and HR systems, plus SSO, corporate APIs, WhatsApp, Microsoft Teams and academic management systems. It counts more than 100 additional features that can be added, and a native mobile app can be developed alongside the web platform. For companies that want to sell training, the FAQ says payment gateways, automated enrollment and certificates can be built in. Each platform carries the client's own branding: colors, logo, domain and visual style.
Platforms run on AWS servers in the European Union. The homepage lists a guaranteed 99.9% availability SLA, automatic backups every 24h, ISO 27001 certified AWS infrastructure, 4 years of retention for training records, encryption in transit and at rest with AES-256, and daily backups with periodic restore tests. Support comes from the team in Spain by email and phone, with a first response and analysis in under 2h, covering incidents, updates, hosting, security and functional advice. The site says the company actively maintains more than 3,000 platforms.
Pricing and getting started
No price list is published. The homepage FAQ describes a pay-for-actual-use model with no annual licenses and no hidden costs, in which the client pays for development, features, support and hosting. The LMS page adds that there is no lock-in, implementation is included, and the client can cancel at any time. A project starts with a 30-minute demo tailored to the client's sector and a needs analysis, and the FAQ says a first working prototype can be ready in 2 to 4 days, with larger projects built in phases. The homepage says more than 1,000 companies have used iTopTraining to launch or improve their training platforms, and more than 2 million learners have trained on its platforms.
Who it suits
iTopTraining fits a Spanish company, training center or NGO that wants a managed, custom-branded training platform rather than a self-service subscription, especially one that runs subsidized FUNDAE training, needs SEPE approval to deliver official certificates, or has to produce audit-ready records. Organizations already on Moodle can buy the plugins, AI features or compliance modules without changing platforms. Because every platform is configured as a project with the company's team, it suits buyers who want an implementation partner; a team looking for a fixed public price list will need to go through the demo and proposal first.
