What iPrendo is
iPrendo is a German e-learning system that combines a course authoring tool, a learning management system and a branded learning portal in one product. It is built mainly for companies that train their own staff, partners and customers, and the homepage's own feature table names its target group as "Mittelstand, KMU, Coaches & Akademien" (mid-sized companies, small businesses, coaches and academies). The company says it is based in Germany, and that development, hosting and support all happen there. The site states the software is "DSGVO-konform", meaning compliant with the GDPR, and that its data center runs on 100% green electricity.
The idea is that a company should not need separate tools to write a course, deliver it and track the results. Content is built in iPrendo's own editor, published to an iPrendo learning portal and reported on in the iPrendo LMS. The homepage calls it "Eine All-in-One-Lösung ohne SCORM-Transfer" (an all-in-one solution with no SCORM transfer), because nothing has to be exported from one system and imported into another. For teams that already hold SCORM packages, the enterprise guide on the company blog invites them to ask about the options for bringing that content into iPrendo.
The homepage says customers have trusted the product for more than 10 years and gives four headline figures: more than 180 customers, more than 160,000 users, more than 8 languages, and more than 10 years of customer loyalty.
Building courses in the authoring tool
The authoring tool works by drag and drop and, the site stresses, needs no programming knowledge. The count of question and task types varies by page: the homepage promises "über 20 verschiedenen Aufgabentypen" (more than 20 different task types), while the feature menu, the enterprise guide and the sell-a-course page all say 19. Named types include multiple choice, drag and drop, fill-in-the-blank text, hotspots, interactive search images, video quizzes and flashcards. Authors can embed their own video, audio, images and PDFs, and lay content out in their own branding.
The tool offers five learning and exam modes: practice, self-test, test, training mode and certification. Tests support pass thresholds, automatic scoring and feedback, and certificate issuing, and the homepage says exams and certificates are available directly in the learning portal. Certificates can carry an expiry date, which ties into the compliance features below. The sell-a-course page lists what an author can produce: multiple-choice tests, online tests, web-based trainings, staff trainings, blended learning courses and interactive user manuals.
The AI features
AI is the headline of the current homepage, under the name N.O.A. There are three parts. The KI-Quiz-Generator (AI quiz generator) sits in the authoring tool and automates tests, question pools and exams, adjusting questions to the learner's progress. The KI-Editor (AI editor) optimizes, translates and adapts texts, and authors can reshape content with their own prompts; the site pitches it at international audiences. The KI-Assistent (AI assistant) sits in the learning portal and gives learners instant answers to their questions about the material.
The homepage puts numbers on the time saved: writing quiz questions drops from 3 hours to 10 minutes (95%), optimizing course content from 2 hours to 5 minutes (90%), and answering learner questions from 1 hour to immediately with N.O.A (100%). One quoted customer, M. Baum, head of an academy, says: "Mit iPrendo sparen wir täglich Stunden bei der Kurserstellung. Die KI-Funktionen und N.O.A. sind wie ein zusätzliches Teammitglied." (With iPrendo we save hours of course creation every day; the AI functions and N.O.A. are like an extra team member.)
Running training for a company
On the LMS side, administrators manage users, roles, permissions and groups, and organize learners into target groups, departments or course groups. Each user gets a personal start page. Courses can be published as mandatory training, as freely available training, or as a time-limited module, for internal or external audiences. The portal serves employees, external partners, temporary staff, customers and anonymous users, and any author can create a course and share it with others.
For mandatory training the site lists course assignments with deadlines and notifications, scheduled reminders, automatic repeat cycles, and documented proof of completion that can be exported. Certificates with an expiry date come with automated escalation management. Learning paths can differ by role or location. Reporting shows progress per course, user or group, along with participation rates and test results, with CSV export, charts and drill-downs, and overviews at department and user level. The homepage names onboarding, mandatory training, safety briefings and product training as typical uses, and the industry pages cover energy, finance and insurance, healthcare, mechanical and plant engineering, industry and trades, kindergartens, transport and logistics, publishers and vocational training centers, and dental practices and labs.
The learning portal runs in the company's own design, with its logo, colors and its own domain or a subdomain. It is web-based and responsive on desktop, tablet and smartphone, and the language can be set per portal. For collaboration, learners can exchange ideas in learning groups and departments, and a comment function inside courses lets participants discuss the material while they study.
Blended learning and selling courses
iPrendo supports both self-paced and synchronous learning. The enterprise guide describes blended learning as classroom training supplemented by web-based trainings and live sessions over webinars. A second customer quote on the homepage, from S. Klausen in company management, makes the same point: "Blended Learning war früher kompliziert. Jetzt können wir Trainings digitalisieren, Kosten senken und gleichzeitig Motivation steigern." (Blended learning used to be complicated. Now we can digitize training, cut costs and raise motivation at the same time.)
The sell-a-course page is written for experts, coaches and trainers who want to turn what they know into an online course, and walks through six steps: pick a topic, study the competition, know the audience, choose a format, plan the structure, and build the first course in iPrendo. It lists the platform's strengths as simple, customizable with your own design and domain, flexible, varied (19 task types), mobile, personal support by email and phone, and fair, meaning unlimited users and courses with all updates included. That page gives no detail on checkout, payment methods or fees for selling a course.
Integrations, accessibility and languages
The homepage names single sign-on (SSO) for MS Azure. The enterprise guide adds LTI: through it, learning applications built in iPrendo can be launched inside other learning platforms such as Moodle, without a separate login. The same guide mentions import and export interfaces for connecting iPrendo to existing IT systems.
On accessibility, the homepage table describes the platform as fully barrier-free, covering screen readers, keyboard use, color contrast and WCAG conformance, and the enterprise guide says it follows WCAG, ADA and Section 508. The guide also says courses currently run in 8 languages, with more available on request. Hosting is in a certified data center in Germany, according to the guide, which adds that ISO-standard hosting is available on request.
Pricing, trial and support
The enterprise guide states the price: "Ab 99 € pro Monat" (from 99 euros a month), plus statutory VAT. Standard plans can be canceled monthly or yearly, the company offers custom terms, and the guide says the right pricing model is worked out with each customer.
There is a free 30-day trial, which the homepage says includes the AI modules. The guide describes it as a fully functional test system covering the platform, the authoring tool with the AI editor, course design, user management, reporting and integration testing. A free online presentation tailored to the customer's needs is the alternative, and the guide claims a new platform is ready to use in under 5 minutes.
Support comes from a team based in Germany, by email and, in an emergency, by phone and screen sharing, from implementation through daily use. A knowledge base at hilfe.iprendo.de holds guides, FAQs and step-by-step tutorials on course design, group management, mandatory training and certificates.
Who it suits
iPrendo fits a mid-sized company that wants to build its own staff training, compliance courses and product training in one German-hosted system, without buying a separate authoring tool. Firms that care about data protection, accessibility and a branded portal will find those points spelled out in the company's own descriptions, and the AI quiz generator and editor cut down the work of writing questions and translating content. It also suits academies and training providers teaching external learners and partners. Coaches selling courses to the public can use it to build and deliver content, though the pages focus on corporate training. Teams whose library is already in SCORM should note that the product is designed around its own content format.
