What IMPROVE is
IMPROVE is an online learning platform for small and growing businesses, run by IMPROVE Productions Limited from Leicester in the United Kingdom. Its FAQ says the platform "brings onboarding, compliance training and employee development together in one simple, easy-to-use platform" and that it is ideal for organizations with 5 to 250 employees. The people it expects to run it are business owners, HR teams, operations managers and learning professionals who want a simple way to manage employee training. That makes the reader here the HR or operations lead of a small company, not a creator selling courses and not an individual shopping for one. The homepage opens with a video message from the founder, Steve Walker, on why growing businesses choose the platform.
The FAQ is candid about the problems it was built around: inconsistent onboarding, managers repeating the same training, difficulty tracking compliance, training records spread across several systems, limited visibility of employee progress, and no structure for employee development. The answer it offers is one platform that holds a ready-made course library next to the company's own material, so an induction, the mandatory courses and the house policies all sit in one place and feed one training record.
What managers and employees get
The features page sorts the platform into six outcomes. Faster onboarding uses structured pathways so that every new starter gets the same day-one learning. Compliance reporting shows who has completed mandatory training and lets a manager pull evidence when it is needed. Learning pathways guide employees through role-based development, and the FAQ says they can be built for new starters, managers, departments or specific job roles. Upload your own content lets a business add policies, procedures, videos and company training beside the IMPROVE courses; the FAQ widens that list to courses, PDFs, documents and other learning resources, and the library page says customers can also create their own courses. A reporting dashboard shows progress across teams in one place, and access is mobile-friendly, with the FAQ naming desktop, laptop, tablet and mobile.
The pricing table gives every plan the same feature set: the learning management system, unlimited courses, unlimited playlists, reporting and dashboards, certificates, mobile-friendly access, user management and email support. Nothing is held back for a bigger band. What changes from one plan to the next is the number of users covered and the price.
The FAQ lists what most customers use it for: employee onboarding, compliance and mandatory training, employee development, management development, company policies and procedures, training records and reporting, and sharing knowledge across the business. On integrations it says IMPROVE "integrates with a range of HR systems to simplify employee onboarding and user management", and the team offers to confirm on request whether a particular HR system is supported.
Customer comments on the site speak mostly to administration. A charity sector customer credits the platform with saving a few hours of admin each month and with letting it build learning pathways for different departments. The operations director of Highland Alarms Ltd says the platform has given the company "greater consistency in how we train people, a smoother onboarding process and much clearer visibility of compliance." A manufacturing customer values "the ability to upload our own learning materials alongside IMPROVE's courses."
The course library
The library page promises "Over 130 professionally developed online courses", and the features page says 130+ courses come with every plan. According to the FAQ, courses released during a subscription arrive at no additional cost, and existing ones "are continually updated to reflect the latest legislation and best practice".
The categories are Compliance; Compliance and Management, aimed at protecting the organization from malicious intent; Health and Safety; IT Skills, with beginner, intermediate and advanced courses on Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; People and Relationships, covering team working, wellbeing and customer service; Sales; Working from Home; and Project Management.
The compliance courses shown are short. Alcohol and Drugs at Work runs 9 minutes, Anti-Bribery and Corruption 8 minutes on the offences under the Bribery Act, and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion 8 minutes on the Equality Act 2010. Cyber Fundamentals takes 13 minutes, Fraud Prevention 11, Environmental Awareness 10, and Internet, Email and Social Media 17. PCI DSS, 9 minutes, is for any organization that processes card payments, and Malware and Phishing takes 4 minutes. A people and development lead at Trilogy Active says the modules are bite-sized, some of them short microlearning pieces. The legal references in these course outlines are British, so the library is written for a UK workplace.
Management training sits in an optional bolt-on called Leadership Plus. The library page says it is "produced to ILM standards" and holds 50+ modules for aspiring, first line and mid to senior level managers. The FAQ lists tracks for aspiring managers, first line managers, mid-senior managers and directors, and adds: "Selected programmes are also available as ILM-accredited qualifications."
Plans, prices and terms
IMPROVE charges one price per business by headcount band, on a three-year agreement, and the pricing page labels its figures October 2026 prices, exclusive of VAT. Essential covers 1-50 users at £995 for year 1, then £1,695 a year in years 2 and 3. Growth covers 51-100 users at £1,695, then £2,495 a year. Unlimited covers 101-250 users at £2,995, then £3,995 a year. Every customer also pays a one-off £695 setup fee for what the company calls its "Launch Programme". The pricing table adds it all up as a three-year investment of £5,080, £7,380 and £11,680 for the three bands. Leadership Plus costs £1,995, £2,995 or £3,995, again by band. VAT at 20% is added at checkout and itemized on the invoice.
The first year's subscription and the setup fee are paid upfront; years 2 and 3 are paid in advance on or before each anniversary. Customers pay by card or bank transfer, with 30 day payment terms, and the account is created once payment arrives. Signed pricing is protected for the full term, and a business that grows can move up to the next band. Asked about canceling, the FAQ restates the three-year term and says the company will get in touch well before the renewal date. Organizations with more than 250 users are offered a bespoke quote.
Before buying, a business can watch a 4-minute demo or start a 14-day trial, which runs the interactive tour inside its own account. The pricing page says no credit card is needed for the tour, and the trial can include a live session the company calls IMPROVE Live, plus an invitation to one of its live webinars.
Setup, support and security
The setup package covers platform configuration, launch planning, an online onboarding session and guidance from a Customer Success Manager. After purchase, that manager arranges the session to configure the platform, discuss objectives, set up users, review learning content and plan the launch. The FAQ says most organizations are ready to start within a few days. Support comes from a UK-based team by email, which every plan includes. Data is hosted on AWS London, in the FAQ's words on "enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure". The homepage notes that East Midlands Chamber has used IMPROVE since 2019, and its chief executive calls it "a mandatory part of our business toolkit."
Who it suits
IMPROVE fits a UK business of roughly 5 to 250 people that wants onboarding, mandatory training and records in one place without running a complex system. The fixed band pricing helps a small HR team budget, and the 130+ course library covers the common compliance subjects from day one. The main caveat is commitment: there is no monthly option, only a three-year agreement, so the trial and demo are worth using before signing. Teams with specific HR software should check support first, as the FAQ names no systems, and a business above 250 people moves onto a quoted contract.
