GyrusAim is a learning management system from Gyrus Systems, built for organizations that have to prove their people completed required training. The company's site positions it as a learning management system for compliance and names government, defense, life sciences, manufacturing, utilities, aviation and financial services as the industries that use it most. Gyrus describes itself on its partners page as an organization with a 30-year legacy, and the free trial page states that Gyrus Systems is ISO 27001 certified.

What the product is

GyrusAim is aimed at L&D teams, compliance officers, HR and training managers who assign training rather than sell it. The home page frames the job plainly: instead of juggling spreadsheets and manual tracking, teams deliver courses, monitor progress and generate reports from one system, whether the training is onboarding, annual compliance refreshers or advanced certifications. The product is offered both as a cloud-hosted LMS and as a self-hosted deployment, which the site recommends for organizations in industries with strict data privacy rules that need control over data storage and access. Gyrus also holds a GSA contract, listed in the site footer, which matters to US federal buyers.

What you actually get

Assigning and tracking training. Administrators can assign training by job role or department, and the system sends automated notifications for enrollment, reminders and completion. As the home page puts it, "GyrusAim automatically records course completions, tracks certification renewals, and maintains detailed training histories." Real-time dashboards show who is compliant and who needs follow-up, so records are ready when an audit or inspection happens.

Certifications. The certification module manages the full cycle, including recertification, automated notifications before something expires, and reporting. Gap analysis lets the learner, a supervisor or an administrator see where someone falls short of job, organization or certification training requirements.

Assessments and evaluations. Assessments can be used as a prerequisite, a quiz during learning, a final exam, a "Read and Acknowledge" step for policy sign-off, or a way to track on-the-job training. Separate evaluation tools collect learner feedback on courses so a training team can judge how well a course worked.

Content. GyrusAim states that it supports SCORM 1.2, 2004, AICC and TinCan/xAPI content, so courses built in outside authoring tools can be imported, delivered and tracked. The newest addition is GyrusAim AI Content Authoring, which turns existing documents, presentations, videos and internal knowledge into structured training, generates assessments and knowledge checks, and produces SCORM content, while training teams and subject-matter experts keep review and approval. The feature menu also lists an LMS content library.

Instructor-led and blended training. The ILT tools cover scheduling sessions, tracking attendance and managing course materials. Blended learning mixes eLearning, instructor-led training, virtual instructor-led training (vILT) and hands-on training in one program. For live online sessions, the webinar-based training feature lets learners join in one click from inside the LMS, and the site names Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Adobe Connect, Slack, Skype and GoToMeeting.

Learning paths and self-reported training. Learning paths can enforce a required course order or let learners finish courses in any sequence. Learners can also self-report training completed outside the system (external workshops, industry certifications, conferences, on-the-job training) so the record stays complete.

Organization structure. Branch and sub-branch management mirrors departments, business units, regions or locations inside the LMS, keeping each branch's content, learners and data segmented while a central team keeps control. The home page adds role-based access controls and structured reporting across teams for large user populations.

Regulated industries. For life sciences, the 21 CFR Part 11 feature covers electronic signatures, course versioning and auditing, in line with FDA rules on electronic records, and the site describes a validated system for that sector. For US government training, GyrusAim supports the SF-182 form for requesting, authorizing and tracking employee training.

Learner side. The free trial page describes the platform as mobile friendly, so employees can complete training from any location, and the features page says learners can choose from more than 15 languages. The same page says GyrusAim integrates with an organization's existing HRIS, and every pricing tier includes data import.

Pricing, trial and support

Gyrus publishes its prices. The pricing page lists cloud-hosted plans by user count, under the line "Flexible cloud-hosted LMS plans built for growing teams":

  • Up to 100 users, $525 a month
  • 101-200 users, $725 a month
  • 201-300 users, $925 a month
  • Enterprise, contact the company

Every tier includes assessments, SCORM compliance, reporting, instructor-led training, blended learning, data import and learning paths. Support on every tier covers unlimited support tickets, 24/7 help desk access, two expert-led consultations and an onboarding guide. The Enterprise tier adds a dedicated customer success manager, six hours of personalized virtual training, phone support and priority email support. A footnote says a one-time implementation fee applies and that the annual plan is discussed with the sales team, so the monthly figures are not the whole first-year cost.

The free trial lasts 14 days with no obligations, according to the trial page FAQ. It is not instant access: Gyrus first schedules a short call about the organization's training needs, then sets up a custom trial environment with full access. During the trial the company provides a knowledge base and follow-up help. Organizations that prefer a formal process can submit a request for proposal from the site.

The support page gives the support team's hours as Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time, and the plan cards separately list 24/7 help desk access.

On recognition, the trial page says Gyrus was named a Top 10 "Best Employee LMS" by Talented Learning in 2024 and placed on Training Industry's Top 20 Learning Management Systems list.

Who it suits

GyrusAim fits organizations where training is mandatory and has to be documented: a pharmaceutical or biotech company working under 21 CFR Part 11, a federal agency that processes SF-182 forms, a manufacturer running safety programs, a utility, an aviation operator or a financial services firm tracking certifications. The published tiers make it easy to budget for a workforce of up to 300 users, and the Enterprise plan covers larger headcounts. Teams that already own SCORM or xAPI courses can bring them in, and teams that start from documents and slide decks can use the AI authoring tool to build courses.

The self-hosted option matters for organizations whose data residency or security rules rule out a shared cloud. Branch management suits multi-site operations that report up to a central compliance office.

It is less of a match for anyone selling courses to the public, since the feature list is about assigning training and carries no storefront or checkout, and for organizations that mainly want employees to browse optional content on their own. The emphasis throughout is on assignment, certification and audit readiness rather than on social or discovery features, which is exactly what its core buyers ask for.
