What Flavor is
Flavor is a Singapore software platform best known as a CRM, and its learning management system is one of the industry products built on it. The LMS page opens with "An intuitive and user-friendly LMS system for all your academic management needs" and says "Flavor is the perfect Learning Management System for educators." It promises that a school or business can "easily create and deliver engaging courses, track student progress, and manage your entire learning program in one place."
The same page frames it for employers too: with the LMS, an organization can "easily create, manage and measure your organization’s learning and development programs," set up "custom learning paths for your employees and students," and use "detailed reports and intelligent evaluating features." The FAQ makes the business case directly, saying continuous learning is "key to employee development and business growth" and that the tools help employees "acquire new skills and knowledge, and keep pace with the latest industry trends."
The site's menu shows how the LMS fits into the wider product. Under Industries, Flavor lists customer service, education, school management, student recruitment, a training management system, CRM, point of sale, an education management system, a center management system, the LMS and a booking management system. A training center can therefore run enrollment leads, scheduling, payments and courses in one vendor's software.
Courses, assessments and scheduling
The LMS page groups its main benefits under course management, assessment tools and smart scheduling.
Course management. Flavor says it "makes managing different courses and programs really easy" and presents material "in an interesting manner, which can be customized based on the learner’s needs." Course content sits in one place, which the feature list calls Centralized Learning Materials, and the FAQ adds backup of courses and secure enrollment.
Assessments. The assessment tools "help teachers assess the learners holistically," and assessments "can be done before, during, and after the course." A pre-course test shows where a learner starts, and a post-course test shows what changed. The feature list adds exams, surveys and test-out options for learners who already know the material.
Scheduling. "Flavor LMS lets you track your courses and when they are due. You can also see when they need to be completed."
The learner side
Learners can work remotely: the LMS page says the remote accessibility feature lets them "access programs from anywhere and take assessments." The interface is meant to keep things engaging, on the principle that "Learning must be enjoyable and interactive for best results."
A groups feature supports collaborative learning. In the page's words, "You can interact with other students during group learning programs by chatting and discussing." Social learning tools, gamification and a personalized user experience all appear on the feature list, along with offline learning trackers and blended learning for programs that mix classroom sessions with online work.
Full feature list
The LMS page closes with a long feature list. Beyond the features above, they include LMS integrations, data tracking, automated alerts and notifications, flexible reporting and analytics, a remote or mobile-workforce-ready design, compliance, hosting options for security, a tool to identify learning needs, learning portals, branding and white-labeling, automation, webinar integration, configurable user roles and permissions, reporting, and skills and certification tracking. The FAQ also mentions email integration. For an organization that wants its training portal under its own brand, the branding and white-labeling entries are the relevant ones; for one that runs live classes, webinar integration covers the online sessions.
Who it is built for
The page says Flavor LMS was designed for a wide range of industries and describes six:
- Colleges and universities, where "Even complex college/university level programs are more interactive and fun to learn."
- Tuition centers, for personalized learning at educational hubs.
- Coaching institutes, where it makes "course development, assessments, and delivering quality coaching more efficient."
- Schools of all sizes, for managing students, their programs and other academic processes.
- Small businesses and start-ups, for training business executives.
- Healthcare, where Flavor says it is "designed specifically for the healthcare industry" to create training courses "that meet the unique needs of your healthcare organization."
The FAQ adds IT companies to that list.
Integrations and the CRM underneath
The LMS page says users can "integrate all the important third-party apps for better functionality and productivity." The site menu names Carbonate, Xero, Twilio, SendGrid, Nautilus, Zoom and SSG TPGateway, and the CRM homepage's integrated-apps section adds QuickBooks, PayNow, Stripe, LinkedIn Ads, Facebook Ads and SkillsFuture.
The CRM itself follows what the homepage calls five stages: get leads, manage leads, connect with clients, streamline payment and in-depth reports. Flavor collects leads from registration and lead forms, reminds staff to follow up and lets managers assign leads to the team. Staff can create an invoice inside the system, send the link to a customer and see in real time when it has been paid. Reports show each team member's sales performance. The platform's feature menu covers sessions and scheduling, payment, reports and analytics, communication, leads, users and instructors, and media management. For a training provider, the pairing means a prospective student can move from enquiry to invoice to enrolled learner without leaving the same software.
Onboarding, according to the homepage, runs through sign-up, a welcome, data migration in which the team imports the customer's existing database, and dedicated training sessions for the customer's staff. Support is offered by phone, e-mail and WhatsApp chat.
Security, trial and pricing
Flavor states that it is "ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Certified" for information security management.
The site's trial offers differ by page. The CRM homepage offers a "40 day free trial. No credit card required." The LMS page says users "can sign up for free for 14 days!" and also offers a free demo. The main menu links a pricing page and a quote request, and the resources menu notes that "SMEs are eligible for up to 50% Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG) support."
Who it suits
Flavor suits education businesses such as tuition centers, coaching institutes and schools that want enrollment, payments and courses from one vendor, and smaller companies that need straightforward employee training with assessments and scheduling. The CRM base is the main reason to choose it over a standalone LMS: a training provider that already handles leads, invoices and class sessions in Flavor can run its courses in the same system.
