EzLearning
Tap a star to rate
EzLearning is a learning management system from WEBSE Sdn. Bhd., whose corporate office is in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur. The LMS page calls it a "One Stop E-Learning Platform For Your Corporate Learning Needs" that "is specially designed for diverse workforce, in terms of creating a dynamic learning process". WEBSE sells two things under the EzLearning name: the LMS itself, and an interactive content development service that turns a client's existing material into scenario-based modules, quizzes and gamified lessons. A company can buy the platform, the content work, or both from the same team.
The homepage describes the LMS as "accessed 24/7 and mobile friendly, whereby learner can access and resume learning anytime, anywhere." The LMS page sets out four aims for buyers: improving overall productivity, improving performance and staff satisfaction, convenient access anywhere and anytime, and cost-effective training that increases ROI. It sums up the workflow in four words: create, manage, engage, track.
Building and organizing courses
Courses are set up in the Course Module, which organizes online content into lessons, courses and categories. A training team can keep product modules under one category and policy modules under another, so learners find what they need and administrators can see the whole catalog at a glance. The File Manager sits behind this. It lets administrators upload, organize, share and reuse files "for as many times as you need for online courses," so a policy document or a standard video is stored once and attached wherever it is needed.
Completion Rules let the administrator decide what counts as finishing a course and configure prerequisites, so a learner has to complete an introductory course before the next one opens. The e-Certificate feature then issues certificates for successful completion of a course, and the page describes it as "Automate or manual certification." Automatic issue suits self-paced modules that run without an instructor, while manual issue suits courses where someone signs off on the result.
Tests and skill profiling
The Test Module supports multiple choice, true/false, fill-in-the-blank and file-upload questions "with configurable difficulty." File upload lets a learner hand in a piece of work, such as a completed form or a short written answer, rather than only picking options. Skill Gap Testing goes further: the page says it provides "significant profiling information on the learner’s abilities and disabilities" and lets learners personalize their learning path, so the route through a program can follow test results instead of a fixed list.
Managing learners across an organization
The User Module manages users and organizes them into user groups, and the Branch Module adds a second layer. The page says branches "may refer to an organizations location, departments, divisions or group." For a company with several offices, or with departments that each run their own training, that keeps each unit's learners and records apart while everything still lives in one system.
Email Notification tells users about new events, new lesson updates and lessons about to expire. Lesson Progress gives learners indications that guide them through each lesson and let them monitor their own progress. The Icon-Based Interface is meant to make the platform look fresh and modern and easy to move around in, which matters for staff who log in only a few times a year for mandatory training.
Blended and social learning
EzLearning supports blended learning, which the LMS page defines as combining online learning with traditional, instructor-led classroom methods. A company can keep its classroom sessions and use the LMS for the pre-work, the follow-up tests and the records. Collaborative Learning adds communication tools: chat, personal messages and a forum that "allow users to share ideas," which keeps questions about a course inside the platform where the instructor can see them.
The Gamification feature lets learners collect points and badges, move up levels and feature high on leaderboards. The e-learning page gives the thinking behind it: games-based learning and gamification are both trying "to solve a problem, motivate, and promote learning using game-based thinking and techniques."
Reporting
Analytic Reports provide standard reports on system access, user progress and lessons, plus a report generator that offers "a flexibility to build your own report." For an HR or L&D team that has to show who completed mandatory training, the standard progress report covers the routine request and the generator handles a one-off question from management.
Standards
The page titles of both the LMS page and the e-learning page describe EzLearning as SCORM compatible (spelled "SCORM compitable" on the site) and also name Tin Can, mobile learning and distance learning.
Interactive content development
The second half of the offer is a service. The homepage says WEBSE can "Transform and convey your 'static' content into interactive and fun way for effective learning," either scenario-based or gamification-based, and the e-learning page lists interactive animation design alongside three content formats:
- Scenario-based e-learning, which the page says lifts engagement because "scenarios depict real life situations making them relatable," and also "provides a safe environment to practice and understand consequences of their action."
- Quizzes, described as interactive content "that uses questions to assess user knowledge levels on a specific topic," so learners take part by answering questions on the material.
- Gamification and games-based learning, built on the same reasoning as the LMS feature above.
The page names three outcomes the work aims for: improving performance and productivity, a higher engagement rate that drives interaction, and easy access to all learning material.
Projects follow a six-stage process: user requirements, storyboard development, courseware development, quality control, user acceptance testing, and sign-off. The client approves a storyboard before anything is built and tests the finished course before it is handed over. That suits formal training that has to be right the first time, though a staged build of this kind takes longer than buying a ready-made course. The e-learning page says the development approach helps WEBSE "focus on our client's business goals," and the homepage says the company has worked with clients in different industries and solved learning challenges in different areas of expertise.
Pricing and trial
The site publishes no prices. The homepage invites visitors to "Drop us a message to find out more and request for trial," and each page carries a contact form for requests.
Who it suits
EzLearning fits companies that want one vendor for the LMS and for the courses that go on it, especially where training material exists as documents or slides and needs to become something staff will actually finish. The branch and user-group modules suit organizations spread across locations or departments, the round-the-clock mobile access suits staff who are not at a desk, and the tests, certificates, completion rules and reports cover the records a compliance program needs. The site describes each feature in a sentence or two, so the trial is where a buyer sees how they work in practice.
