What Employment Hero's LMS is

Employment Hero is an HR, payroll, recruitment and benefits platform for small and growing businesses, and its learning management system is the training layer inside it. The homepage calls the whole product "the AI-powered Employment Operating System with Payroll, HR, Recruitment and Benefits", all in one place, and its FAQ says it supports "SMEs and growing organisations across almost every industry". The learning product, branded Employment Hero Learning and sold as Learning Plus, is aimed at the HR manager or business owner who wants staff training in the same system that already holds contracts, payroll and leave.

The LMS is not a course builder in the first place. Its core is a content library: the product page says Employment Hero Learning is powered by Go1 and brings training content from over 250 global providers into one place. The company presents it as a way to address skill gaps, support compliance requirements, boost employee engagement and develop winning teams.

The course library

The library is the reason this listing also sits under training libraries. The product page promises "an extensive library of 80,000+ courses including videos, articles, and interactive quizzes", so the formats run from short video lessons to reading material and quick knowledge checks. Further down, the page says it gives "access to thousands of courses tailored to your needs, all available in the Employment Operating System", which is the practical point: staff do not log in to a separate learning portal.

The content comes from Go1, the learning content provider behind the library. The page describes Go1 as "trusted by over 180,000 customers worldwide" and calls it "the gold standard in learning content". Because the courses come from many outside providers, an employer gets breadth across compliance topics, soft skills and professional skills without commissioning its own material.

For employees, the promise is self-paced learning "available anywhere, any time". The page frames it as a way to help people "succeed and reach their full potential, no matter their role, career stage, or learning style", and as a retention tool: build a culture of growth, engagement and retention, because "when your employees thrive, your business does too." In the employee app, Learning & development sits beside leave requests, timesheets and perks, with the menu line "Complete critical training, set goals & grow your career".

What HR and L&D teams get

On the management side, the product page says "HR and L&D teams gain valuable insights through analytics and easy-to-use management tools." The FAQ on the same page defines an LMS as software that lets you "create, deliver, and report on training courses and programs", and describes the corporate kind as one used for compliance training, onboarding programs and professional development courses.

The stronger story is what surrounds the LMS. Onboarding is where training and HR admin meet. The onboarding page says you can "Automate your onboarding from 'you're hired' to day one", and lists custom checklists, triggered tasks, welcome emails and automatic account setup in Google Workspace or Microsoft 365. New hires complete contracts, personal information, tax declarations and superannuation choices online, and workflows can be tailored by employment type, location, department or job role. A customer quote on the learning page, from Dan, Head of Product & People, puts it plainly: "Most new hires complete everything on their phone. They sign contracts, review policies, and onboard remotely".

Certification tracking covers the compliance side of training. The onboarding page says you can "Track and manage employee certifications in one place" and approve or decline certifications that employees submit, so everyone stays up to date with required qualifications. Audit trails record changes, and the page pitches automated onboarding as a way to "improve governance".

The rest of the Employment Operating System

Learning is one module in a much larger product. Payroll handles pay runs with automated data flows and error alerts, pre-payroll data from timesheets, leave and rostering, and a dedicated payroll partner for complex tasks such as STP, awards, payslips and legislation changes. Hiring covers an applicant tracking system, salary benchmarking, SmartMatch candidate shortlists and an AI Recruitment Agent. A customer quoted on the homepage says "The AI recruitment function probably saves around 15 minutes for each candidate", which they put at around 50 hours for a 100-person shortlist. Rostering, benefits (perks, earned wage access, an employee assistance program and insurance) and an AI HR agent round it out. The FAQ also describes HeroForce, a managed service that provides the legal infrastructure to hire and employ talent in 180+ countries.

For an L&D buyer the useful consequence is a single employee record: the person you hire, onboard and pay is the same person you assign training to.

Pricing, implementation and trust

The learning page states the pricing model: "Learning Plus is available on all subscriptions for a small additional fee per employee per month." The fee itself is not printed on the page. The wider FAQ says Employment Hero offers "a range of pricing plans designed to suit different business sizes and needs", with tailored enterprise solutions priced on request and the plan details on a separate pricing page. The site offers a demo request and a free sign-up.

Switching is supported. The FAQ says Employment Hero manages the implementation process through two journeys, Managed or Guided, depending on your needs. It also says the platform "integrates with many different platforms, depending on the software you are implementing", with compatible integrations listed on a separate integrations page, and the menu promotes an HR API for partners.

On security, the homepage FAQ says Employment Hero "uses advanced encryption protocols, multi-factor authentication, and regular security audits", and the onboarding page says the company has "achieved ISO 27001:2013 certification". The learning page carries the lines "TRUSTED BY 350k+ HAPPY CUSTOMERS" and "Customers rate us 4.5" on Trustpilot. The region picker covers Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Canada, Singapore and Malaysia.

Who it suits

Employment Hero's LMS suits small and mid-sized businesses that already run, or plan to run, their HR and payroll on Employment Hero and want staff training without buying and integrating a second system. The Go1 library makes it practical for a business without an L&D team: you can give employees a large catalog across compliance, soft skills and professional topics on day one, and keep onboarding paperwork, certifications and training in one place. Businesses with many locations or remote and frontline staff benefit from the mobile app.

It suits teams less well if their main need is building their own rich courses, because the learning page describes a content library and management tools rather than an authoring tool. Buyers comparing costs should get the Learning Plus per-employee fee from Employment Hero's pricing page or a demo, since it is charged on top of the core subscription.
