What it is
EcoOnline is a safety and sustainability software company, and its Training & eLearning line is a learning management system built for health and safety training. The company's homepage sums up the idea as "Safe workers are trained workers" and pitches "an intuitive learning management system to help reduce injuries AND admin time" for frontline workers. The training line has three parts: the LMS, which lets a company "Proactively assign training to your internal and external workers"; eLearning Content, a course library with "engaging multimedia content that's built by experts"; and Access Control, described as Health & Safety Training Register Software for keeping training records in one place.
The LMS sits inside a wider suite. EcoOnline also sells EHS software for incident management, audits and inspections, risk management and control of work, plus chemical safety tools, emergency and crisis software powered by D4H, the StaySafe lone worker app, and ESG software powered by Ecometrica. The LMS page says the company has 20+ years of experience, is "Trusted by 11,000+ customers worldwide," and has drawn on knowledge from 90 different industries. Country sites cover New Zealand, Australia, the UK and Ireland, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Norway, the US and Canada, including a French Canadian version.
Assigning training to staff and contractors
The LMS is designed around the mix of people found on a work site. Training can go to internal and external workers alike, and contractors "can complete required training ahead of their work through link-based self-enrolment." The page frames this as a way to "Remove the risks (and admin) of compliance by easily sending contractors links to self-enrol for required training." For employees, users can be invited, can enroll themselves, or can be registered automatically, either in bulk or one at a time.
Health and safety teams build learning paths from pre-built courses, their own content, or both, and the LMS can also set up, manage and document instructor-led training. Progress, assigned training actions and course completion are tracked in one central place. A flexible message tool sends reminders and notifications when a certificate is about to expire, when a course is due, or when a user has gone inactive. The LMS is "Smartphone and tablet friendly," which matters for frontline staff who rarely sit at a desk.
Courses and content
The eLearning Content library offers "over 500+ courses" with multimedia content built by experts, aimed at helping employees "adopt new and safer behaviours." Teams can also create their own: the LMS lets them build, edit and publish training courses using a variety of media through what the page calls a multi-modal learning experience. An AI Quizzer helps "create dynamic, customisable quizzes for your courses," which saves time when every module needs a knowledge check.
The FAQ lists the formats the LMS accepts: xAPI/TinCan, SCORM, video, PDF, PowerPoint, EPUB, and external links to other websites. That makes it possible to bring in existing packages from other tools alongside EcoOnline's own courses. The platform is available in 22 languages, which the page ties to accessibility and ease of use across global sites.
Data, reporting and the EHS link
Learning data is collected using xAPI and stored "in the company's Learning Record Store for in-depth analysis and export options." The distinctive part is the link to EcoOnline's safety software. EHS integration gives access to "real-time competence data insights in one convenient place," and the page argues that completion rates and performance data are more useful when combined with "incident and near-miss trends." The stated aim is to "Easily report on training compliance and assess the impact of training on safety performance across your organisation." For a company already logging incidents in EcoOnline, training records and incident data end up in the same system.
The homepage describes the suite underneath as "a centralised cloud-based solution that's accessible 24/7," with real-time data, automated updates, and "Configurable dashboards without needing to call a consultant." One customer quoted there, Matt Doughty, Lead Systems & Insight Manager, says: "We like the fact that you can connect lots of different endpoints of data to the system and import data from any source." Among the uses the site lists, maintaining compliance is described as a way to "Simplify compliance and stay audit-ready."
Industries and results
EcoOnline organizes its solutions by industry: construction ("Reduce site risk and keep projects moving"), manufacturing, retail ("Protect employees across every location 24/7"), transport and logistics, and utilities, with separate offers for enterprise and mid-market companies. The training page claims the approach has served "400,000+ trained and compliant workers." A testimonial from Monica Gjersund, HR consultant at Nasta AS, says: "Now we can take courses at anytime, wherever we are and all documentation is collected in one place. This gives us a good overview."
Across the wider suite, the homepage says EcoOnline has been named a leader in the Verdantix Green Quadrant for EHS software, and the news section calls 2026 the third time. The company also publishes a 2026 Workplace Safety Report, which it says found that "90% of workers link safety to productivity" among workers in the UK and Ireland.
Buying and support
The site publishes no prices. Buyers book a demo or talk to sales, and the LMS page invites them to speak with "one of our in-house EHS experts." A demo video library holds over 18 on-demand software demos, an ROI tool promises to "Put a number on your safety performance," and a partner directory lists accredited partners who can help with implementation. The homepage highlights expert support among the features it says set its solutions apart, and says users on G2 consistently rate EcoOnline for ease of use, innovation and support.
Who it suits
EcoOnline's LMS fits construction firms, manufacturers, retailers, logistics operators and utilities that need to train frontline employees and contractors on safety, keep certificates current and prove compliance. It is most useful for organizations that already use, or plan to use, EcoOnline's incident and risk software, since that is where training data meets incident data. Multilingual workforces benefit from the 22 languages, and teams with an existing library of SCORM or xAPI content can bring it along.
Its course library and reporting are built around health and safety, so an L&D team whose main need is leadership, sales or product training will find the platform's focus elsewhere.
