What Dokeos is
Dokeos is a learning management system for organizations whose training records have to stand up to a regulatory audit. Its homepage headline calls it "The #1 LMS for Regulated industries," and the company says it has been supporting learning organizations since 2004. The product is pitched at compliance teams, HR managers, training coordinators and L&D departments in life sciences, healthcare, manufacturing, clinical trials, medical devices, public agencies and education, and the site also lists training centers, retail and services among its sectors.
The LMS sits at the center of a wider offer. Around it Dokeos sells a virtual classroom called Dokeos Live, off-the-shelf courses, instructional design, coaching and support, learning strategy, and a compliance and audit readiness service. The site itself runs in English, French, Dutch and Italian.
What a training team gets
The core product is what Dokeos calls a validated LMS, used to "Create training and evaluation paths for your employees, clients and partners." A team builds courses with an integrated authoring tool, assembles them into interactive e-learning paths, and adds multimedia content and interactive modules. A post on the company's blog describes "dynamic course tools, allowing you to develop courses specific to SOPs and regulatory standards," along with customizable dashboards and role-specific learning paths for each learner.
Assessment sits next to delivery. The product menu lists questionnaires, evaluations and quizzes; a placement test that adapts learning paths automatically; and certificates and training attestations. The same blog post says Dokeos "generates individual training files and certificates, ensuring compliance with electronic signatures, timestamps, authentication, and log traceability," sends automated renewal notifications, and tracks employee progress in real time. For a quality team, that combination is the point: each completed module leaves a signed, dated record tied to a named person, and expiring qualifications trigger a reminder rather than a finding.
Live training runs through Dokeos Live, which the homepage describes as "our internal solution" for webinars, "tailored for the training industry." The menu calls it a virtual classroom tool for organizing online sessions, so instructor-led sessions and self-paced modules live in the same platform and feed the same records.
For administrators, the menu lists role and user management, skills management for following and developing a team's competencies, and detailed reports that measure the impact of training. The blog post adds that "Advanced analytics provides crucial insights into training effectiveness," so managers can find knowledge and skills gaps and adjust. Content does not all have to be built in house: the homepage offers ready-made online courses from outside experts that can be added to the training platform, and the menu lists a catalog of ready-to-use courses alongside custom-built programs.
Compliance features
This is where Dokeos concentrates its effort. The company's blog describes the product as "a validated, GxP-compliant solution that handles regulatory complexities" and says the platform "ensures compliance with strict FDA, EMA, and ISO standards with verified training certificates that are timestamped and authenticated." The post names GxP, ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR Part 11 as the standards an LMS has to support in pharma and biotech, and claims that "Real-time audit trails capture every action, ensuring transparency and traceability and that you are always audit-ready."
Two further features target the pace of regulatory change. An automated update function pushes changes into training modules, records and documentation in real time, so a revised SOP can flow into the training that depends on it instead of a course being rebuilt. And the blog says Dokeos "integrates fully with your existing QMS (quality management systems)," producing "a full-stack compliance ecosystem connecting training outcomes and quality management." Multilingual features are there to keep a global workforce trained to the same local and international rules.
The same blog post explains why Dokeos positions itself as an LMS rather than a training management system. In its framing, a TMS handles the logistics of instructor-led programs, such as scheduling, resources, invoicing and trainer management, while an LMS handles course design, delivery, progress tracking and certification. The company argues that the second set of tasks is what pharma and biotech compliance depends on.
Integrations, services and support
Beyond the QMS link, the menu lists "Synchronisation SIRH, ERP, TMS" (synchronization with HRIS, ERP and training management systems) under the line "Connectez Dokeos LMS à votre environnement" (connect Dokeos LMS to your environment), plus a page of software partners and integrations. The site names no individual vendors for these connections.
The services arm is broad for an LMS vendor. Instructional Design offers "Your dedicated instructional designers for building beautiful e-learning courses." Coaching and Support aims to "Turn your team into autonomous digital learning experts." Strategy helps a team "Define your learning KPIs and reach your goals," and Compliance & Audit Readiness is offered to "Ensure the success of your regulatory compliance audits." The menu also lists custom-built training programs and personalized support for a training project. For day-to-day help, the site points to a help center, a support desk for technical issues, and a separate entry point that shows learners how to reach their own learning space.
Pricing, trial and customers
The site publishes no prices. The ways in are a free trial and a conversation with sales: the blog post invites readers to "Get started with a free Dokeos LMS trial today" with no commitment required, the header carries a Free Trial button on every page, and the French menu advertises a live demo webinar of Dokeos LMS.
The use cases the menu names are employee onboarding, customer service team training, regulatory compliance management, training in hospitals, and funding training programs. The site's business cases section includes a story on Audika and a story on training subsidiaries and franchises at Keepcool, and the homepage invites readers to join the companies growing with Dokeos LMS.
Who it suits
Dokeos suits pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device and clinical research companies that need validated training records, e-signed certificates and an audit trail that a quality system can draw on. Hospitals and healthcare providers, which the menu names directly, and public agencies with mandatory training fit the same profile. Training organizations can use it to run evaluation and certification paths for their own clients, and a team without in-house course designers can buy design, coaching and audit preparation from the same vendor that runs the platform.
It is a heavier choice for a small business with light, unregulated training needs, where most of the validation and audit machinery would sit unused. Teams that want to compare prices up front will need to start a trial or talk to sales first.
