What Conzentrate is

Conzentrate A/S is a Danish company that develops Learning Arena LMS, a learning management system for employee training, onboarding and compliance, and that also produces e-learning courses for its customers. Its Danish homepage describes Learning Arena as "En nem og effektiv alt-i-én løsning til at udvikle jeres medarbejdere" (an easy and effective all-in-one solution for developing your employees), and its English pages say the company has been developing the platform for over 20 years. Headquarters are in Aalborg, with a second Danish office in Herlev near Copenhagen, a Swedish company, Conzentrate AB, in Stockholm, and an office in Frankfurt, Germany. The site is published in Danish, English, Swedish and German.

The buyer is a training, HR or compliance lead who wants one place for courses, documentation and reporting, and who may also want someone else to build the courses. The homepage promises overview and less administration: "Tilpassede læringsforløb, automatiserede processer og rapportering" (customized learning paths, automated processes and reporting), all in one solution. It adds that, as learning specialists, Conzentrate is glad to develop the customer's e-learning courses for them.

What Learning Arena does

Conzentrate's English explainer page says Learning Arena lets an organization "create, manage, and distribute training materials to your employees or customers." Admins create courses, add content, set up quizzes and assessment tools, manage user information and generate reports. Courses can mix multimedia lessons, interactive exercises, discussion forums and quizzes, and admins can assign tasks, projects and assessments to participants and then follow their progress. Customizable learning paths and modules fit the training to individual needs, the platform supports multiple devices, and interactive elements can be added to training materials. The same page says it is easy to "track progress and evaluate knowledge" so the training pays off at work, and describes Learning Arena as a platform that "can handle everything from the creation of e-learning to reporting and everything in between."

The product section of the site names the parts of the platform: a built-in Authoring Tool, Peer Learning (Sidemandsoplæring, the Danish term for side-by-side training on the job), a Webshop, third-party content, Recurrent Training, Learning Space, Classroom, External Courses, Network, Support, Integrations and a web accessibility page. The authoring tool gets the clearest endorsement on the homepage, from Peter Gottlieb, project manager at Danmarks Idrætsforbund: "Uden brug af eksterne værktøjer kunne vi udvikle vores egne kurser" (without using external tools, we could develop our own courses). He calls the built-in authoring tool "bestemt anbefalelsesværdigt" (definitely worth recommending).

Six ways customers use it

The homepage organizes Learning Arena around six uses, each with its own page.

  • Onboarding. An automated onboarding process meant to give new employees an effective and personal introduction.
  • Compliance. Continuous training and documentation to meet requirements and legislation, without time lost on unnecessary processes.
  • ESG. Collecting and documenting employee training on one platform to meet the new EU requirements on ESG reporting.
  • Digital competence development. Training customers and employees quickly so that support is relieved and the company's applications are used to the full.
  • Sell your knowledge. Putting digital and physical learning on the market through a solution that automates course sales, which is where the Webshop comes in.
  • Sales training. Building product understanding inside and outside the company, with the stated aim of more cross-selling and higher customer satisfaction.

One testimonial shows how far the compliance use can go. Allan Jeppesen, IT project manager at Aalborg Forsyning, says only employees who have completed the utility's digital courses get access to the workplace, and guests are asked to take a safety course before they arrive: "Alt det har Conzentrate bygget for os" (Conzentrate built all of that for us).

Ready-made courses and course production

Alongside the platform, Conzentrate sells digital standard courses. The Danish site lists workplace safety, IT security, ethics and compliance, diversity, SMART goals, personal effectiveness, GDPR, leadership, Microsoft Office and microlearning; the English site lists cyber security, ethics and compliance, diversity, SMART goals, personal effectiveness, GDPR, leadership, Microsoft Office and first aid. A company that needs mandatory topics covered quickly can start from these rather than writing everything itself.

For material specific to the business, Conzentrate offers production of e-learning as a service, and its site has a section on pedagogy and learning. That makes it partly a platform vendor and partly a production partner: a customer can build courses in the authoring tool, buy standard courses, or have Conzentrate's team produce custom ones.

Implementation and support

The English FAQ describes the help on offer: "We can assist with the implementation of an LMS by providing expertise and support throughout the process. This may include advising on selecting the right LMS, customising the system to fit the company's needs, training users, and providing ongoing technical support."

Customer quotes on the homepage dwell on that relationship. Katja Otto Ebbeskov, IT project lead at danbolig, says Learning Arena has many functions for training their employees, and "Hvis vi efterspørger ny funktionalitet, så er Conzentrate altid imødekommende over for vores behov" (if we ask for new functionality, Conzentrate is always accommodating to our needs). Bettina Brun Buch Larsen, learning consultant at Dansk Ejendomsmæglerforening, credits an ongoing dialogue and a pragmatic approach. Lars Bjelke Fisker of Tasklet Factory says all their materials sit on one stable platform where employees can easily find their way around, and Arun Aluvila, Head of IT Applications at Maersk Supply Service, writes: "The collaboration with Conzentrate has also been excellent from the beginning understanding our requirements."

Pricing

The site publishes no prices; the route in is a free demo ("Få en gratis demo af Learning Arena LMS"), and the company says it tailors a solution to each customer's needs.

Who it suits

Learning Arena suits an organization that wants employee onboarding, mandatory training and its documentation in one system, with a supplier that will also build courses and adapt the platform when asked. The customers quoted on the site include danbolig, Dansk Ejendomsmæglerforening, Danmarks Idrætsforbund, Tasklet Factory, Aalborg Forsyning and Maersk Supply Service, and their uses run from keeping all training material on one stable platform to workplace access that depends on a finished safety course. The webshop also makes it an option for an association or training provider that wants to sell its own courses.

The trade-off is how little the site spells out. Integrations, accessibility and the platform's modules have their own pages, but the site names no specific connected systems or technical standards, so a buyer with a fixed HR system should take that into the demo. For a company that values a close working relationship with its LMS vendor over a self-serve sign-up, that hands-on model is the main reason to look at Conzentrate.
