What Cloud Assess Is
Cloud Assess is a training, assessment and compliance platform for employers in high-risk, high-compliance industries and for registered training organizations (RTOs) and other vocational training providers. Its home page puts the pitch bluntly: "Traditional LMS platforms are built for eLearning. Cloud Assess proves competency." The promise is to "Train and assess online, offline, and in person, with verified evidence that closes your competency, compliance and risk gaps," with AI and automation cutting the admin work.
The platform has two sides. Workforce Skills serves companies training staff in frontline settings such as mines, construction sites, hospitals and transport networks. RTOs & Training Providers serves vocational education with LMS and student management system (SMS) features in one product. The home page shows a "1M+ workers" figure and a 4.8/5 rating on G2, and the company's blog cites an average of 4.7/5 across Capterra, G2, GetApp and Software Advice. All data is hosted in Australia on Amazon Web Services, and the platform generates AVETMISS files for Australian national reporting.
Building Training and Assessments
Assessment is the heart of the product, which is why Cloud Assess also sits among quiz and assessment tools. Activities can be knowledge assessments, eLearning, quizzes, observation checklists, logbooks, gap assessments, third-party reports, commencement activities and recognition of prior learning (RPL). A drag-and-drop content designer and a full authoring toolkit cover rich text, interactive media, automatic and manual questions, and signature and date fields. Question blocks hold feedback, model answers and marking criteria, grading schemes are customizable, and attempt limits can be set.
The AI tools are extensive. Cloud Assess lists an AI question generator, assessment generation from prompts or from uploaded Word, PDF or text files, an AI marking assistant that recommends outcomes to assessors, a real-time marking assistant, an AI image generator, an AI content refiner, an AI skill importer that maps documents to skill structures, and an AI message generator for email and SMS. Auto-marking applies results to multiple choice and dropdown questions.
Existing content is not wasted: the platform supports SCORM, HTML and LTI, so SCORM objects can be imported and external LTI tools connected. A content digitization service converts paper or PDF material into interactive online learning, and the free course library offers "thousands of ready-made workplace training courses."
Frontline Delivery and Evidence
For frontline staff, the learner app provides navigation, progress tracking and anytime access, and learners can "Check out assessments to work without internet and sync when back in range." They can upload photos, video or audio as evidence from their phones, keep digital log books of work hours and tasks, and sign digitally with audio or video evidence. Learning journeys release content and reminders automatically by rules, digital badges reward progress, and course posts give each course a discussion forum.
Integrity features matter in regulated settings. Geo-login maps show where a learner was when accessing or submitting an assessment, quality checks flag a set percentage of marked assessments for second-level review, and a timeline gives a full audit trail for every record. Third parties such as workplace supervisors can log in to verify competency within a unit, and a Turnitin integration checks for plagiarism.
Skills, Compliance and Reporting
The skills matrix is a visual grid that cross-references role profiles against personnel to show skill gaps in real time. Job role mapping shows required versus missing qualifications, role management keeps competencies consistent across similar roles, and an organizational view shows completion rates across business units, locations and departments. Verification of Competency (VOC) workflows check safety and skills in high-risk roles. Cyclical assessment handles expiry dates and automated reminders for reassessment and recertification, and license tracking covers construction sites.
Certificate management lets organizations create, issue and verify accredited and non-accredited certificates. Reporting includes dashboards, a reporting engine with granular filters, real-time stats on assessment consistency, and exports to PDF, CSV or Excel.
Running a Training Business
For RTOs, the student management side includes an online enrollment engine with branded web forms and payment integration, a public course calendar where learners can inquire or enroll without logging in, Unique Student Identifier validation, training plans for trainees and apprentices, unit outcomes such as Competent and Not Yet Competent, revision control for assessments, and a mapping tool that shows how assessments meet unit requirements. Stripe handles payment links, installments, invoices and subscriptions, and messaging covers email and text messages.
Integrations and Security
The home page lists native integrations with Axcelerate, Ready Student (formerly JobReady), VETtrak, Wisenet, Humanforce, Employment Hero and Turnitin, third-party connections with Powerpro and Ish, "5,000-plus apps via Zapier," webhooks for real-time HRIS and CRM sync, and API keys for external platforms. On security it claims ISO 27001 certified hosting, 256-bit SSL encryption, two-factor authentication and single sign-on, with sign-in also possible by mobile number, Facebook, Google, Microsoft or magic link. White labeling covers logos, colors and platform customization.
Pricing
The company's blog says Cloud Assess offers one all-inclusive plan for training organizations and workplace training, "priced as a flat fee per learner from $12," and that "Every feature is included from day one, with no upgrade paths or feature gates." For an exact figure it points to the pricing page and a quote.
Customer Results
The customer stories carry specific claims. EPA4 Health reports a 35% reduction in assessment turnaround time. Daysafe Training's CEO says: "We’ve basically doubled how much training we can deliver in a day per trainer thanks to Cloud Assess." Access Mining runs with full offline capability underground, Lion captures evidence on the factory floor, Castlereagh Coal became audit ready in 2 months, and 13Cabs reports a 92% training completion rate and record access that is "99.98% faster." Reviews on the page praise ease of use, with one trainer writing that it is "streamlined and easy to use, especially for someone like myself that is not tech savvy."
Who It Suits
Cloud Assess fits employers in mining, construction, healthcare, aged care, rail, transport and manufacturing who must prove that people are competent and not just that they finished a course, and Australian RTOs that want LMS and SMS functions, AVETMISS reporting and assessment mapping in one place. Offline assessment and mobile evidence capture make it practical for crews far from a desk.
It is built for organizations that train and assess people, not for creators selling courses to the public. Teams with simple office training needs may find its compliance depth more than they need, and the RTO features are written around the Australian vocational system.
