What Classilio Is
Classilio is a French company that makes two products for running training online: Lära LMS, a learning management system, and Via, a virtual classroom built into it. The home page describes it as an "Acteur français du LMS et de la classe virtuelle présent dans + de 15 pays" (a French LMS and virtual classroom provider present in more than 15 countries), active in digital learning since 2008. It supplies training centers, small and mid-sized businesses, large accounts and public bodies, and the menu adds pages for education and independent trainers.
The company's headline figures on the home page are more than 500 clients, 1.9 million LMS users, 1.2 million virtual classroom users and 18 years of experience. Lära is pitched both for training your own teams and for selling courses online, with the LMS centralizing and automating the whole training process. Classilio's own LMS guide says Lära receives between 20 and 25 updates a year with new features, optimizations and fixes. The site is written in French.
Lära LMS for Training Teams
Lära is built around three ideas the home page names. Multimodal means digital learning, blended learning, in-person sessions, virtual classes and tutoring on one platform. Multisession means an unlimited number of sessions. Multiportail means unlimited portals for you and your clients, structured to match your organization chart; the demo section adds that a platform can be organized by branches, subsidiaries or departments, and the LMS guide says you can set up a separate portal for each audience you train.
The module list covers content management, in-person training logistics, enrollment management to control who gets access, training design, training evaluation, training tracking, personalization and multiportal, sales tools, promotion tools and integrations. On personalization, the home page promises "Une plateforme LMS française à votre image ou à celle de vos clients, de l'interface de connexion aux emails d'invitation" (a French LMS in your brand or your clients', from the login screen to the invitation emails), and the demo section lists colors, logo and catalogs. Learners reach it anywhere: "Au bureau, sur le terrain ou en télétravail, Lära LMS s'adapte à votre écran, tablette et smartphone" (at the office, in the field or working from home, Lära adapts to your screen, tablet and smartphone).
For an L&D or compliance team, reporting and mandatory training carry the most weight. The demo section lists advanced reporting to follow progress, spot needs and steer skills development, and a feature for creating, delivering and tracking regulatory and mandatory training. The LMS guide adds that Lära handles certifying training paths, produces detailed reports on learner progress and on the performance and appeal of each course, and supports tracking a skills development plan. Learners can view or download their training record from their own user file at any time.
Deployment is quick by Classilio's account: the demo section says courses can be operational within a few hours, and the LMS guide speaks of rolling out training paths in a few days. The same guide is candid about what Lära does less well, listing few content creation tools, limited gamification and little adaptive learning.
Via, the Virtual Classroom
Via is the live part of the offer and the reason Classilio also belongs among cohort and live-teaching tools. The home page calls it "Un véritable outil pédagogique qui sollicite l'engagement des apprenants" (a real teaching tool that draws learners in) and "La référence des classes virtuelles depuis 2008, créée par et pour des pédagogues" (the benchmark virtual classroom since 2008, made by and for educators). It is integrated natively in Lära, so trainers run live sessions without switching tools.
The feature groups are teaching tools, collaborative tools, breakout workshops, communication tools, simplified administration and a resource library. The LMS guide names a whiteboard, annotation tools, polls and quizzes, screen sharing and sub-group work. Remote sessions are framed as real meeting and exchange time built on active teaching methods, and a tutoring feature offers personalized follow-up that the site says raises completion rates in online courses.
Customer comments fill in the detail. Richard Morel of Groupe Promotrans says trainers value Via as a virtual classroom rather than a video call, especially its workshop management and the ability to add polls, quizzes and teaching resources within one interface. Anne Duiker of Fadciel lists full preparation ahead of sessions, resource sharing, scheduled invitations, an asynchronous virtual space for learners and session traceability. Sébastien Parnet of CETIM says trainers can guide participants with polls, whiteboards and workshops much as they would in a classroom.
Selling Training
Lära includes sales and promotion tools for organizations that sell courses. The demo section describes building a showcase site, highlighting your courses and sharing them in one click, and the LMS guide adds catalog presentation, featured courses and sharing on social networks, aimed at both organizations and independent trainers.
Hosting and Security
The home page states "Serveurs localisés en France. Conformité RGPD garantie. Echanges sécurisés." (servers located in France, guaranteed GDPR compliance, secure exchanges). It adds that data is stored in France and that this will never change, and that communications use end-to-end encryption.
Support, Trial and Pricing
Classilio's experts in online teaching help clients design training paths, and the LMS guide describes functional and pedagogical support from setup onward. Instead of a standard trial, the guide says Classilio builds a complete Lära platform in your colors free of charge so you can test it in real conditions until you are convinced, with the team helping design your first training paths. A personalized 30-minute demo with an expert is also offered.
The home page lists no prices. Customers quoted there mention cost: François Delmotte of Association Eformations services, a client for 3 years, cites "les coûts très abordables du LMS" (the LMS's very affordable costs), and Max Floridia of ProSocial says "la formule d’abonnement proposée conjugue souplesse et tarifs très abordables" (the subscription combines flexibility with very affordable rates).
What Customers Say
Arnaud Lesage of École de la Sécurité, Auchan Retail France, says Lära allowed "une approche globale et spécifique" (a global and specific approach) to occupational safety and health training across in-person, virtual and eLearning formats. Dominique Agosta of IFPVPS calls Via "un outil parfaitement adapté aux besoins des formateurs et des apprenants" (a tool perfectly suited to the needs of trainers and learners). Jean-Marie Bidabe, a trainer, writes that after heavy use during the pandemic, Via "nous paraît devenir indispensable dans les années à venir" (looks set to become indispensable in the years ahead).
Who It Suits
Classilio fits training organizations, companies and public bodies that want an LMS and live virtual classes from one vendor: blended programs mixing eLearning, classroom and live sessions, regulated and mandatory training that needs reporting, and training businesses that sell courses to several clients through separate branded portals. Independent trainers running live sessions get a virtual classroom designed for teaching, and organizations that want their data hosted in France get that commitment in writing.
Teams that expect rich built-in authoring, heavy gamification or adaptive learning should weigh Classilio's own list of Lära's weaker points.
