Tap a star to rate
TestPrep is an online preparation service for Australian police entrance exams. Its own footer describes it as "Australia's dedicated preparation platform for police entrance exams, including Victoria Police (VPOL) and Queensland (QPSea)." It is built for the learner: a candidate sitting the police application test who wants practice exams, worked answers and, if needed, a tutor. Alongside the police courses it runs Year 6-12 maths tuition for school students, and the home page pitches the whole operation as "Tuition, Classes and Courses" for people who want structure but also "human interaction, not just a computer screen."
Exam coverage
The police side covers two forces. For Victoria Police, the courses page lists three sections: Numeracy, Abstract Reasoning and Literacy. For the Queensland Police entrance assessment (QPSea), the Queensland page lists Numeracy, Abstract Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, and Extended & Summary Writing, and its Full Access plan names Numeracy, Abstract reasoning, Verbal reasoning and Literacy.
The Queensland material is pitched as close to the real test. The page says: "Modelled from the ACER QLDpol police test, these courses are designed to be quickly learnt and easily remembered." It adds that candidates "will be able to draw on your learning reliably under intense exam pressure." The footer also says the exam formats are "current as at July 2026," which tells a buyer when the content was last checked against the tests.
TestPrep is clear that it is a third party. The footer states it is "Independent and not affiliated with Victoria Police, the Queensland Police Service, or ACER." A candidate is buying practice material and coaching, not anything issued by the police services.
The site also aims at people who have tried before. The Queensland page says that whether "you have never seen a police test, or have unfortunately failed to pass your academic ACER examination, you can access the right course for you," and asks new members to say a little about themselves when they join so the team can point them to the right material.
What a course contains
Each police course is a self-paced module built around full practice exams. The courses page sets out the Victoria Police lineup like this:
- Police Numeracy Tests: 6 full sets of exams, timed exams with results, a self-paced test with answers, video and worded tutorials, plus bonus questions.
- Police Abstract Reasoning: 5 full sets of exams, with the same timed mode, self-paced mode, tutorials and bonus questions.
- Police Literacy: 1 full exam set, a timed exam with results, a self-paced test with answers, video and worded tutorials and bonus questions.
The Queensland lineup repeats the Numeracy course with 6 full sets and Abstract Reasoning with 5, and lists two further courses with 2 and 3 full exam sets. The Queensland pricing panel sums up a single course as "Practice Tests in 2 modes," worked answers, video tutorials and 12 months of access.
The two modes are the point of the design. The timed version simulates the exam and returns results; the self-paced version lets a candidate work through the same question types without the clock and check each answer. Courses include both video and written explanations, which the site frames as letting you "learn in a style that suits you." The home page puts it more plainly: the added video content "is like having a tutor in your home," and courses let you "repeat content and work through as many practice questions as you like."
Classes and one-to-one tuition
TestPrep is not only a course library. The home page describes three formats:
- Online courses, the self-paced practice exams above.
- Online classes, which "give you the opportunity to learn and ask questions in a live, supportive environment." The site says "All classes are uploaded to your course page for review," and that students get extra practice questions between sessions plus question and answer support during the week.
- Face-to-face online tuition, 1:1 sessions for "those after an extra level of support," which the site says bring "flexibility, accountability and assurance."
For police candidates, the Queensland page invites you to "Speak to our tutors today about a 1:1 session" and labels it "Risk Free!" The maths class runs weekly online at 7:15 pm on Tuesdays and includes learning tasks, video explanations and a help and homework zone. The home page offers a free class to try before enrolling and a callback request form for anyone who wants to talk first. The menu also lists a community area and articles.
Prices and access
TestPrep publishes its prices, in Australian dollars as printed on the site.
- Single course: $80. Every Victoria Police course (Numeracy, Abstract Reasoning, Literacy) is listed at $80 with 12 months of access and a 7-day guarantee. The Queensland page lists a single QLDpol practice exam course at the same $80.
- Full Access bundle: $200. The Victoria Police bundle gives access to all VicPol practice exams for $200. The Queensland Full Access plan covers all QLDpol practice exams for $200 and says it "Includes $320 of value."
- Helping Hand: $999. Queensland's top plan is Full Access plus 10 one-hour one-to-one online tuition sessions and a customized learning plan, with 12 months of access. The page says it "Includes $1220 of value."
- Tuition: $90 per hour. The Queensland pricing panel lists one-to-one tuition "from $90 per hour" alongside the single course and "at $90 per hour" alongside Full Access.
Every course and bundle on the courses page carries the same terms: 12 Month Access and a "7-day Guarantee." The site does not spell out the guarantee's conditions on these pages. The maths class is listed with its schedule but no price.
There is also a free entry point. The Queensland page offers a "FREE Police Entrance Application Test" with a free account, and a free access tier that includes one Numeracy test, one Abstract Reasoning test, one Verbal Reasoning test and one Literacy test, plus a bonus guide to "Secrets to passing the Entrance Exam." That lets a candidate see the question style before paying $80.
Track record and reviews
The home page states "1000 + Students taught" and "12 Years of teaching and tuition." It also claims "87.5% Of applying students successfully awarded scholarships or Selective Entry," a figure that refers to the school tutoring side (scholarships and selective school entry), not to police exam pass rates.
Google reviews are reproduced on the site. One police candidate, Jasmine Otoole, writes: "Travis was absolutely amazing! Super helpful with my police exam prep! Highly recommend." Another, Luke Harris, writes after his exam: "I'VE PASSED IT ALL!" The remaining reviews come from parents of school students in the maths and English tuition, and two of them name Travis and Kirsty as the people who run the program. These are individual reviews rather than published pass statistics for the police courses.
Support
Support is direct and personal. The site lists a phone number, 0490 213 089, which also works on WhatsApp, and an email address, travis@testprep.com.au. Opening hours are Monday to Friday, 10:00 to 22:00, closed on weekends. The courses page repeats the offer to "Call now to talk about your situation" for anyone unsure which course fits.
Who it suits
TestPrep fits an Australian candidate preparing for the Victoria Police or Queensland Police entrance assessment who wants plenty of full-length practice under exam timing, with explanations to learn from mistakes. At $80 a course, a candidate who is weak in one area, say abstract reasoning, can buy just that section. The $200 bundle makes sense for someone starting from scratch across all sections, and the Helping Hand plan suits a candidate who has failed before and wants regular sessions with a tutor and a plan built around them.
The live classes and one-to-one tuition set it apart from a pure question bank. A candidate who learns best by asking questions can book a session at $90 an hour rather than relying only on recorded tutorials.
The scope is narrow by design. The police material covers only the two state forces named on the site, so candidates for other forces or other public service exams will find nothing here beyond the general maths tuition. The guarantee runs for seven days, so it is worth starting the course soon after buying. For its two target exams, though, TestPrep offers a clear set of practice tests, published prices and a free starting point.
