What it is
LearnTheta (written Learn(θ) on its home page) is an online practice platform for math and aptitude, the subjects where exam scores depend on doing many questions quickly and accurately. Its About page describes an "AI-powered platform" built for practice-intensive subjects like Math and Aptitude, and it is aimed at learners preparing for campus placement tests, bank exams, the SSC CGL government exam, the CAT entrance test for MBA programs and the CBSE class 9 and 10 boards. It is a learner product, not a course library: instead of long video lectures, a learner picks topics and works through questions whose difficulty changes with their answers. The founder, Ravindra Patidar, is an alumnus of IIT Madras and IIM Calcutta, and the company lists an address on Haralur Road in Bengaluru. The home page claims 10k+ users from 100+ institutes, 4 Mn+ questions attempted and a 4.8/5 user rating.
How the practice works
The home page sums up the method in three steps: select topics, practice adaptive questions, and track the LT Score. The bank exam page explains the idea behind it. LearnTheta calls itself "a performance engine built for students who want to practice smarter", and says that instead of serving endless questions or generic mock tests, it works out the learner's level, adapts to their pace and pushes difficulty up where it matters. The platform tracks how a learner solves and where they hesitate, and turns that into the LT Score, a running measure of how close they are to exam expectations and what to work on next. The page stresses short sessions, adaptive difficulty and clean analytics, so that someone with 10 minutes between college or work commitments can still do a useful round.
A comparison table on the home page sets adaptive practice against books and PDFs and against fixed mock tests: personalization to the learner's level, content that is kept updated, real-time progress tracking and automatic difficulty control. Every paid plan includes the same feature set: a Preparation Tracker, Adaptive Practice, an Exam Readiness Score, Analytics and Insights, and Unlimited Practice.
Exams and audiences
Each plan covers one exam category, and the pricing page says who each one is for.
- Placement Prep (Engineering) is for B.Tech, BCA, MCA and M.Tech students in their pre-final and final year, and covers both the aptitude and technical rounds of placement tests, on campus and off.
- Placement Tests (MBA) helps final-year MBA students clear the placement tests used in campus recruitment.
- Banking Exams targets IBPS, SBI and RRB aspirants for PO and Clerk posts, with the focus on speed, accuracy and conceptual clarity.
- SSC CGL is built to cover what the page calls a syllabus broader than most other exams, with ample practice for candidates short on time.
- CAT focuses on quantitative aptitude, with practice aimed at the toughest and most novel questions.
- General Aptitude builds quant, reasoning and verbal skills for several exams at once.
- CBSE 9 and 10 cover maths and science for school students, with the stated aim of a solid base for the board exams and later for JEE, NEET, Olympiads and NTSE.
Free resources
A large part of the site is free. The menus lead to aptitude questions, concepts and formulas, aptitude tests, syllabus pages, previous year papers for bank exams and SSC CGL, company-wise placement questions and syllabi, a TCS NQT mock test, resume guidance for freshers and interview questions. For CAT there are four free quant mock tests that cover the whole quantitative syllabus and show a tentative percentile next to the score. The page advises beginners to use them to check their starting level, and more advanced candidates to attempt them after covering at least 70% of the syllabus, no more often than one mock every two weeks. CBSE students get notes, extra questions and NCERT solutions for maths and science. Mini tests, live challenges in four categories and Telegram groups for each exam round out the free side, and a free trial of the adaptive platform is offered before any purchase.
Pricing
Prices are published and paid once for the whole period. For placement prep (engineering or MBA), bank exams, general aptitude and SSC CGL the plans are the same: 1 month at an offer price of ₹299 (standard ₹500), 6 months at ₹599 (standard ₹1000) and 12 months at ₹999 (standard ₹1500). The CAT plan, valid for CAT 2026, is ₹999 against a standard ₹1500, and the CBSE 9 and 10 maths and science plan is ₹999, with access until April 2027. The terms are short and clear: each plan gives full access to one selected exam or category, the price is a one-time payment for the entire duration, progress is saved, and there are "No hidden fees, no auto-renewal, no commitments." The refund policy is equally plain: a free trial is offered so learners can explore first, and refunds are not available once a plan is bought.
A separate Personalized Resume and Interview Prep platform for placement season is listed at a standard price of ₹1000 for 6 months or ₹1500 for 12 months. Colleges and institutes can buy in bulk for their students by email, and a partner program offers the practice and assessment platform to coaching institutes, training organizations, colleges, tutors and EdTech businesses.
What users and experts say
Student testimonials on the home page match the exam groups. Aman Patel, a B.Tech final-year student, says he is now far more confident in placement aptitude prep. Rupesh Khare, listed under IBPS 2024, writes that the progress tracker helped him focus on weak areas. Dhruv Thakur, listed under CAT 2024, says the practice sessions were "Hard enough to make me learn, but not so hard that I'd give up." A row of experts also recommends the platform, among them Harpreet Singh, a professor, Sahul Darla, an IIT Kgp and IIMC alumnus, Abhishek, a math faculty member and IIT-M alumnus, Ankit Garg, an educator, and Shrikant, a Canara Bank officer.
Who it suits
LearnTheta suits a learner whose weak point is quantitative aptitude and who wants focused, measurable practice rather than lectures: a bank PO or clerk aspirant, an SSC CGL candidate, a final-year engineering or MBA student facing placement tests, or a CAT candidate working on quant. The prices are low, published and fixed for the plan's whole term, and the free trial and free resources make it easy to test before paying. The limits follow from the focus. It is a practice tool for math and aptitude rather than a full course with teaching for every paper, so candidates will still need material for the other sections of their exam, and since refunds are not offered after purchase, the free trial is the place to decide.
