Wise is an all-in-one platform for tutoring businesses and online schools, made by Wise Leap Technologies, Inc., whose footer gives an address on Bryant Street in San Francisco. The homepage presents it as tutor management software that handles scheduling, invoicing, learners and tutors at scale, and a separate product page sells self-paced video courses with 0% transaction charges. The reader it serves best is an organization that teaches live, one-on-one or in small groups, and wants its own brand, its own app and its own student data rather than a marketplace listing. A 2022 post on the company blog says Wise was founded in 2020.

Running live tutoring and classes

Live teaching sits at the center. Wise supports one-on-one and group sessions, online and in person, with automated scheduling. Sessions sync both ways with Google Calendar to prevent double bookings, lesson times adjust automatically across time zones, and tutors and students start or join Zoom sessions with one click from the dashboard instead of passing links around. After scheduling, families and students get an email confirmation, and reminders go out by email, SMS and the app before each session. Real-time alerts flag sessions that start late.

After a session, attendance is recorded automatically, and the recording and an AI summary of the session are shared right away, with tutor notes and comments sent by email. Wise AI builds a personalized performance report for each student across sessions, and those reports can be sent automatically to students and parents. A 2026 post on the Wise blog describes the built-in learning tools as covering homework, quizzes, recordings and gamified leaderboards, and one music school's testimonial credits the in-session leaderboard and AI-powered quizzes with making its live music classes more interactive.

For the people running the business, a single dashboard manages several tutors with customizable roles, permissions and synced calendars. Students get a central portal holding schedules, chats, session recordings and resources, and a secure in-platform chat protects privacy and cuts down on messages outside the platform.

Billing, payments and payroll

Wise automates the money side of tutoring. A business can sell subscriptions, packages or pay-as-you-go sessions; sessions are tracked automatically so clients are billed accurately, invoices and payment reminders go out on their own, and recurring invoices can be charged to the customer automatically. The 2026 blog post adds multi-currency billing with auto-charge for families on recurring plans. Attendance and session logs feed billing and renewals, and tutor payroll is calculated from session data, with flexible session-based rates and split payments.

The testimonials are specific about the effect. Finn Au of Explore Apollo Tuition in the UK says monthly payment calculations used to take three full days and that the business now has zero missed payments. Kemjira Waritpariya of BeGifted Tutoring in Thailand says using Wise's API endpoints for CRM integration and automated credit deductions improved billing accuracy by 80%, and Serah John of Music Pandit says automation removed over 100 hours of manual admin work.

Selling self-paced courses

The course product page is titled "Sell courses with 0% transaction fee" and is aimed at creators, employee training and early education. Videos, content and other digital products sell through landing pages built for conversion. Content is protected with HLS video and DRM, device restrictions and screen-recording prevention. Drip courses release content step by step, course bundles nudge learners to subscribe to several courses as a package, and verifiable certificates are generated automatically with the creator's branding and a verification link. Course pages and content can be hosted on the creator's own domain.

Branded apps and storefront

The branded mobile app is the main draw for white-label buyers. Wise builds Android and iOS apps with the business's own branding, giving learners 24/7 access to schedules, chats and lesson materials, with push notifications and real-time updates. The 2026 blog post describes the app as carrying the academy's name rather than Wise's, alongside a white-labeled storefront with verified parent reviews and teacher profile pages that parents browse before booking. A business can also let visitors book consultations themselves from its website.

Plans, scale and backing

The 2022 blog post described two plans: a Premium plan at $5.99/month with 0% transaction charges, and a free Starter plan giving access to all the features of Wise. The same post said Wise had over 3 million teachers and students on the platform and over 3000 businesses selling courses through it. The 2026 post describes the model as a flat monthly subscription with 0% revenue share, so the organization keeps every dollar students pay, and says Wise powers over 2,000 tutoring businesses worldwide. The homepage, meanwhile, says it is "Trusted by 1000+ online and in-person tutoring businesses in the US and globally". Pricing has its own page, and the site offers a free sign-up, a free trial and demos.

Wise lists its backers as including the founders of Product Hunt, Plaid, Teachable, Rippling and Freckle Education; among the named people are Ryan Hoover, William Hockey, Ankur Nagpal and Prasanna Sankar. The blog author bio describes co-founder Mubeen Masudi as an IIT Bombay graduate and longtime test prep tutor. The resources menu links to a knowledge base, API documentation and a setup guide, and the homepage promises personalized customer support. Testimonials also stress custom work: OK Sanafir of Team Interval mentions monitoring thousands of tutoring sessions daily and the team's openness to custom development, and Paper.co's product manager says Wise helped launch its tutoring product for school districts across North America.

The solutions menu shows the range of customers: online schools, language schools, music schools, yoga schools, chess academies, test prep, private and small-group tutoring, corporate training and upskilling. The homepage's customer strip labels its users by type, from high-dosage tutoring, academic tutoring and SAT and ACT test prep to college admissions, math and English tutoring, language schools and music schools, and the footer describes the product as streamlining tutoring businesses while raising student engagement through gamification features.

Who it suits

Wise fits a tutoring company, online school or academy that runs many live sessions across several tutors and wants scheduling, Zoom, billing, payroll, progress reports and a branded app in one system. The 2026 blog pitches it from single-tutor startups up to organizations with hundreds of tutors. A test prep center, language school or music school with recurring families gets the most from the auto-charging, reminders and parent reports.

A solo creator who only sells recorded courses can use the course features, but most of the product is built around live teaching and tutor operations, so that buyer pays attention mainly to the course page and the current pricing page.
