Teaches

Tap a star to rate

Teaches (趣開課) is a platform for teachers and teaching centers who want their own course website, selling online courses, live streams, offline events, memberships and blog columns from one branded site. The home page calls it "知識型電商第一品牌" (the number one brand in knowledge e-commerce) and says anyone from an individual teacher to a teaching center can run a knowledge e-commerce site on it. Alongside the creator product, Teaches for Business is an e-learning LMS for companies that covers recruiting, employee training, supplier training and ESG education. The site is written in Traditional Chinese, and its payments and invoicing are built for Taiwan.

Building a course website

The setup is pitched as needing no programming: you sign up with an email address, follow a guided interface to build the school, and can change anything later. The home page says a professional course website can be up in 3 minutes. Theme layouts and custom color schemes shape the look, and every plan lets you set your own logo and brand colors on a Teaches subdomain with an SSL certificate. A custom domain of your own is limited to the Business plan, according to the pricing FAQ.

The products you can sell are text-and-image courses, video courses, audio courses, live courses with paid access, offline events with registration, course materials and blog columns. Membership subscriptions with recurring billing are part of the same system. Pricing and refund rules for each course are yours to define.

Teaching and the student side

Students register, buy and start learning on a phone, tablet or computer. Teachers can post course announcements, set assignments and grade them, run quizzes, and hold discussion in a pre-purchase discussion area and a learning discussion area for enrolled students. The features page says each course can have its own completion certificate; in the pricing table, certificates and custom certificate templates appear only on the Business plan. Content protection covers encryption, viewing restrictions and limits that stop account sharing, and a course can be given a limited viewing period. Multi-language subtitles and 1080p streaming are listed in the plan table.

Live streaming and events

The live page says Teaches works with Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Zoom, YouTube, Facebook and OBS. You can charge for a live class, sell tickets with time-limited and quantity-limited offers and countdowns, and have the member system push live links to buyers automatically. Recordings of a live class can be turned into a recorded course and sold on.

The event system handles online registration for in-person events with automatic reminders, QR code ticket checks at the door, real-time VIP check-in alerts and a live check-in dashboard. The home page says it suits events from 10 to 100,000 people, conferences and annual meetings included.

Selling, marketing and data

Payments run through a built-in payment and e-invoice system that needs no separate application, taking credit cards (Visa, Master, JCB, UnionPay), ATM transfers and other payment tools, with a student refund mechanism. Marketing tools include presale (crowdfunding) courses, free courses and free preview units, bundles, early-bird and limited-time prices, discount codes (limited quantity, limited time, specific items, sitewide or spend-threshold gifts), returning-student offers, email marketing, SEO settings, reviews, course gifting to selected members and a member referral program with rewards. Google and Facebook tracking can be added, and Teaches sells paid ad management for Facebook, Google and LINE.

Reports cover registrations, sales, revenue, discussion activity, course popularity, completion rates and finances, with automatic periodic sales reports. Members can be imported from offline classes, tagged, tiered, tracked by progress and exported. Several teachers can run one school with separate revenue records and role-based permissions, and the features page says you own your school, its content and its student data.

Teaches for Business

The business product combines an employer branding and recruiting site (unlimited job postings, a company talent pool and competency assessment for hiring) with a digital learning platform. Companies can automate new-hire training, run regular in-service training, manage their own courses, set required and elective courses by job function with deadlines and automatic completion tracking, and mix online and in-person learning in short modules. Reports show each employee's learning curve, department trends and complete learning histories, and use training data to spot high-potential staff. Training can be delivered and automated through LINE, with gamified learning. Separate modules cover supplier, franchise, store staff and partner training with regular tests, and a corporate sustainability school carries ESG training to employees and suppliers. Business pricing is arranged through a consultation and trial request.

Pricing

The pricing page shows each creator plan's monthly price with annual billing (advertised as saving 20%) and with monthly billing, and asks you to contact the company for monthly billing:

Every plan has unlimited teachers, members and concurrent viewers. Streaming over the allowance carries an overage fee the table lists as 0.4 元 per minute on the first three plans and 0.3 元 on Business, and payment processing and invoice fees are charged separately. Plans can be changed at any time, and cancellation takes effect from the next billing period with no complicated contract. A homepage visual design add-on, with one image change per quarter, is listed at NT$29,000, NT$26,000, NT$22,000 or NT$18,000 a month depending on the tier.

Course production services

Teaches also makes courses for you. Four packages cost NT$28,000, NT$68,000, NT$88,000 and NT$118,000 per course and cover studio filming, scripting, editing, captions, animated effects, visual design and a course intro page, with trailers of 90 or 120 seconds, main course videos of 60 or 120 minutes and delivery in 30 or 60 days. The About page says the team also helps with marketing, course planning and subtitles.

Who it suits

Teaches fits teachers, coaches and training centers selling to Chinese-speaking students who want a site of their own with Taiwanese payments and e-invoices built in, plus live classes and in-person events on the same member list. The testimonials come from a touring pastry teacher, a clinical psychologist, a beauty instructor and a breathwork coach, and several mention the team's help in planning and filming courses. Basic suits a single course; anyone running live classes needs Professional, and the commission only disappears from Professional + upward. Companies looking for onboarding, supplier and ESG training use the separate Teaches for Business product.
