What SchoolMaker is
SchoolMaker is an online course platform for experts, coaches and course creators who sell structured programs to their own clients. Its home page headline is "Sell more courses with SchoolMaker," and the pitch is completion: "Create gamified online courses your clients actually finish, and can't stop recommending to others." The site argues that simple video courses no longer sell as well as they did and that buyers now expect action steps, coaching and community, so it bundles all three into one school. It says more than 1,800 experts use it to train 500,000+ students, and every plan includes step-by-step courses, the built-in community, consultations, live sessions and coaching.
The platform runs in French and English, and each member chooses their language. The home page lists servers based in Europe and multilingual schools among its features.
Step-by-step courses
A SchoolMaker course is a sequence of lessons broken into steps and milestones rather than a list of videos. Each lesson can combine text, video, audio, PDFs and embeds, including several videos, audio files and PDFs in a single lesson. A PDF can sit under a lesson as a resource or open inside it in a reader, with downloads disabled if you prefer. Inside a lesson, students tick off action steps, fill in forms, answer reflection questions, take quizzes and post their commitments to the community for accountability.
Quizzes show each member's score, and all results from a quiz can be exported. The demo on the home page shows a certificate of completion, badges and a 30-day leaderboard with experience points, which is the gamified side of the product. Homework and corrections let members send documents and answers that the creator reviews, then accepts or sends back. On the admin side, you can open any student's profile to see their activity, completed steps and how far they are in the program. AI features include an AI coach trained on your course, which answers student questions and cites the lessons it drew on, and AI quiz generation.
Community, consultations, lives and coaching
Every school includes a community, so members can talk, ask questions and stay connected without a separate tool. It is organized in spaces, with posts, comments, reactions, polls and a member directory, and moderators can be given exactly the access they need, from programs and community to live sessions.
Consultations are SchoolMaker's answer to one-to-one support at scale. Students submit questions, and the creator answers them by speaking on video; the site says this takes under 2 hours per week, and every response is saved and searchable for future clients. Lives come with a built-in calendar, recurring sessions, reminders and private replays. Coaching tools add bookable sessions, session counters and private notes per client, and a school can sell coaching session packs or monthly coaching alongside its courses. Auto Testimonials collects written and video testimonials from members at the right moment, and re-engagement notifications nudge members who drift away. The company's blog also lists templates and challenges and a built-in support ticketing system among its features.
Selling and offers
SchoolMaker has an integrated checkout with secure payments, promo codes, multiple installment payments and a built-in referral system. The FAQ says you can sell directly through SchoolMaker with the Stripe integration, sell with another tool and add members through Zapier, Make.com or the API, or import a full customer list with a CSV file.
Packs group courses and community spaces into one offer, each with its own access duration: the FAQ gives the example of unlimited access to a course but one year of access to a forum. The site encourages tiered offers, with or without coaching, consultations, community or bonus modules, built without duplicating content, and says its tests show three tiered packages on a sales page can raise revenue by up to 67%. One account can run several distinct businesses, with a separate community for each course.
Every school gets its own subdomain on schoolmaker.co, and you can use your own domain or a subdomain of it instead. Design customization covers your logo, course visuals and primary color; the FAQ says the options are limited on purpose, because a well-designed interface usually looks better than a fully customizable one. Members get a mobile app in the form of a PWA with the school's name and logo, and you can limit how many devices log into one member account to discourage password sharing.
Data, integrations and plans
The site states "Your data is yours": members, progress and activity can be exported as CSV whenever you need them. API and webhook access and Zapier and Make integrations are listed in the plan features, and custom code can be added to a school.
On pricing, the company's blog says SchoolMaker starts at $29/month with zero transaction fees. The pricing calculator on the home page sizes the plan to your members, courses and team, and its default view shows a Starter plan at $99/month, or $1,188 billed annually plus local taxes, with no transaction fee, free migration, up to 500 members, up to 15 online courses, up to 5 team accounts, unlimited storage, API and webhooks, Zapier and Make, and premium support. Annual plans are shown at 20% off, and the calculator notes that a Lite plan is only available to new customers. Custom plans are available on request.
There is a 14-day free trial and no long-term commitment. For migration, the FAQ says to try SchoolMaker first and then get in touch; on an annual plan, the team handles the move from start to finish. Every plan includes a free welcome audit, a community of course creators with practical resources, and support, and the contact form says the team usually replies within one business day.
What customers say
The testimonials come mostly from French-speaking coaches and educators. Cédric Laporte of Disrupteur Immobilier says that after switching, 88.9% of his students rated SchoolMaker "very good." Mahdi Kafi of Primal Career uses the community as a selling point for his courses, Nicolas L. says he raised his prices by 20%, and Cyril M. reports more questions in his live sessions. Several customers single out the support team.
Who it suits
SchoolMaker fits a coach or expert selling a transformation program, where students need to do the work and the creator wants them to finish: business coaching, language teaching, personal development, skills training. The combination of steps, homework review, community, consultations, lives and coaching in one school is the reason to pick it, and the packs make it easy to sell a premium version with more support. The trade-offs are deliberate ones: design customization is limited by choice, and the platform runs in French and English. A creator who wants a fully custom-designed site, or a school in another language, will notice both.
