Mentortools is a hosted platform for building an online academy: courses, a membership area, a community and a branded mobile app in one account. It is run by Mentortools AG, its site is primarily in German with English, Slovak and Czech versions, and its homepage promises high-quality online academies "in nur 5 Minuten" (in just 5 minutes) without technical or design skills. The homepage counts "50.000+ Kurse auf Mentortools" (more than 50,000 courses on Mentortools).

It names three kinds of user. Professional coaches build their own academy to automate their business. Content creators market their courses through it to build a location-independent business; the homepage says Mentortools saves them hundreds of hours on course structure and content, and that its marketing support helps them sell more. Small and mid-sized companies use it either to train their workforce or to train their customers and build reach in their industry. In every case the members are the creator's own clients or employees; Mentortools is not a marketplace that sends students.

Building the academy

The course editor works from ready-made templates with your own colors, fonts, logo and layout presets, and the site says white label is "in allen Plänen enthalten" (included in all plans). The membership area page describes the setup as choosing a template, adding colors and connecting payments in a few clicks, with lessons, downloads, discussions and events appearing in one place under your brand, without code or plugins. The feature menu lists quizzes, certificates, notifications, reporting and data security alongside the editor.

AI is part of the building process. The homepage says you talk to the built-in AI agent "wie mit einer echten Person" (as with a real person) and build your online content with it, and the site credits its "AI Co-Pilot" with speeding up content creation. The AI tools menu adds AI course creation, AI video creation, voice assistants, a chatbot and an MCP server, and the integrations menu lists an API and a public API.

Video is hosted inside Mentortools. The video hosting page promises unlimited uploads of course and page videos "no caps, surprise fees, or bandwidth math", reusable across lessons, landing pages, sales pages and order steps, managed from inside the builder. Infrastructure is "hosted in Germany and Finland aligned with GDPR requirements", according to the same page. External video links can still be mixed in for special cases such as public clips or trailers. Because the videos are delivered from the same platform as the rest of the academy, the page argues that playback stays consistent across courses and pages, and that storage keeps pace as you add modules, libraries and launches, without juggling separate accounts or billing models.

Selling and automation

Mentortools covers the sales side as well. Landing pages and sales pages are built from templates or your own content in a visual builder, and they are unlimited. On the membership page, you connect your payment provider in a few clicks and sell one-time offers or subscriptions; "Gutscheine, Testphasen und Steuern werden automatisch gehandhabt" (coupons, trial periods and taxes are handled automatically), and members get access immediately after purchase with no manual activation.

Automations schedule enrollments, tags, drip content and reminders so they trigger on their own, and the page says the right message reaches the right member at the right moment. You can connect your email tool or Zapier to sync these workflows. A sales chatbot that recommends additional products is in beta with selected customers, according to the homepage's list of upcoming features.

Community, events and gamification

The community is built in rather than outsourced to social media groups. Members get a protected space for sharing, questions and wins, topics stay organized and easy to find, and because the community sits next to courses and events, the site argues that members get help faster and support work drops. Communities are unlimited, each with groups, posts, comments and members, and unlimited chat groups allow conversations directly with you or between members.

Live events cover workshops, Q&A sessions and office hours, and access can be limited by membership level. Events, webinars and workshops can be live or pre-recorded and open to customers or to the public, automatic reminders raise attendance, and recordings are stored where the learning happens so members can catch up. A built-in live streaming feature for hosting workshops directly in a course or community is listed as coming soon.

Gamification turns progress into motivation with points, leaderboards and rewards for engagement or for inviting friends, and you decide what earns points and what opens new content. More customizable gamification, such as community points and points for course or community purchases, is announced. Members see progress bars and next steps, while the creator sees who is stuck, who is moving ahead, and which lessons work best, along with quiz results and course completion rates.

The branded mobile app

Mentortools publishes "eine komplett gebrandete iOS- und Android-App" (a fully branded iOS and Android app) for each academy, so members can learn anywhere. Push notifications bring them back, and Mentortools syncs content, community and progress between web and app. On the homepage the app is pitched as a branded mobile experience where you track activity, send updates and run leaderboards and rewards.

Pricing and trial

The pricing model is one fixed monthly price for everything: "Ein fester monatlicher Preis" (one fixed monthly price), with "Unbegrenzte Kurse, Videos, Mitglieder und Landingpages" (unlimited courses, videos, members and landing pages) and no upgrades required. The unlimited list covers courses ("Erstelle einen Kurs oder 300"), members (clients, employees and so on), content uploads of video, audio, images and files, communities, chat groups and landing pages. The pages shown do not state the amount of that monthly price. The trial lets you use all features in full and test Mentortools free for 14 days, and the site says a course can be ready within 5 minutes of starting.

Help comes through an FAQ, tutorials, a support contact, a free workshop, the Mentortools Academy and a blog.

Who it suits

Mentortools suits coaches and creators who want courses, a community, live sessions and their own app under one brand, and who would rather pay one predictable fee than track member or course limits. The built-in payments, coupons, taxes and automations make it workable for someone without a separate checkout or email stack. Small companies training staff or customers get unlimited members and EU hosting. A few announced features, live streaming, more gamification options and the sales chatbot, are not fully available yet.
