What Workshop.sk is
Workshop.sk is a Slovak marketplace for corporate training and adult education. Independent lecturers list their courses, and companies and individuals order them online, either as open courses on published dates, as in-house training for a team, or as a program designed to order. The company describes it as "najväčšia slovenská platforma zameraná na firemné vzdelávanie a vzdelávanie dospelých" (the largest Slovak platform focused on corporate training and adult education), and its homepage invites visitors to order original corporate training and online courses from experts from all over Slovakia. The site is in Slovak.
The marketplace model is explicit. The course overview says every course is the lecturer's own product, built on the professional experience and practice the lecturer gained over a career, and the homepage says Workshop.sk connects lecturers with customers. Its lecturer catalog advertises "+150 lektorov" (more than 150 lecturers), each with customer reviews, and the course overview offers a choice of more than 1,400 courses, corporate trainings and workshops. Unlike a static training catalog, the site says, its offer is always current and grows every day with courses that respond to the market, current needs and trends in education.
Two formats: in person or online
Workshop.sk lets a buyer choose not only the topic and the lecturer but also how the training is delivered, and it filters its catalog, which it describes as hundreds of courses, by that choice.
In-person training (prezenčné školenie) is a session with the lecturer either in external training rooms or directly at the client's company. The site lists corporate training from all over Slovakia and lets a buyer search by location; featured courses on the homepage run in Bratislava and Košice. Every client can also use Workshop.sk's own fully equipped, modern training rooms in Bratislava.
An online course is an interactive video call with the lecturer, held over an app that is most often Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Skype or Webex. The lecturer teaches through live explanation, an interactive presentation, discussion and various online exercises. The site's point is that nobody has to travel, because the training comes to you.
Open courses, in-house training and custom programs
Open courses (otvorené kurzy) have published dates that anyone can join. A company can register one colleague or several through an online order without waiting, choosing an individual course or a group training in subjects such as English, accounting, assertiveness or financial education. The site gives three reasons to pick an open course: the topic can fit one employee's needs, the group mixes people from other companies and sectors who share their experience, and it is a way to see a lecturer's approach and know-how firsthand before bringing them into a larger development program.
In-house training (in-house školenia na objednávku) starts from a course in the catalog. Each course page sets out its content and the lecturer who wrote it and teaches it, and a buyer can send an inquiry with one click. Workshop.sk's team then settles the requirements and, together with the chosen lecturer, schedules the training on a date the client picks and at an agreed price, either at the company or in an external training space.
For topics that are not in the catalog, Workshop.sk designs training to order (tvorba školenia na mieru). A manager can write in with a topic or a description of the situation to solve, and the site says its support team knows more than 120 lecturers on the training market and will find a suitable expert and solution. The homepage makes the same offer to companies that want a custom program: describe yourself and your team's needs, Workshop.sk gets back promptly, and it designs a course together with an expert in that field.
Ordering and paying
The homepage reduces buying to three steps. First, browse the current courses and pick a training. Second, place an online order for yourself or for any number of colleagues. Third, pay by card or request an invoice, and then wait for the course. For in-house training the price is agreed with Workshop.sk and the lecturer, and the homepage and course overview list no prices.
What the catalog covers
The course overview names the needs it serves: a team whose communication is stuck, improving English, building motivation, learning Excel functions, a solid accounting course, and courses for managers as well as staff. Featured courses on the homepage include Efektívne pod tlakom, a course on handling demanding situations under pressure; Konflikt alebo príležitosť (conflict or opportunity), run in both Bratislava and Košice; Tai chi pre zdravie (tai chi for health); and 8 Brokátov, a set of exercises for health. The footer adds coaching, e-learning, team building, employee training and adaptive courses for companies to the list of services.
Workshop originals
Next to the lecturers' own courses, Workshop.sk produces a line called Workshop originals. The homepage describes them as exclusive trainings with a Workshop.sk quality guarantee, created in its own production in cooperation with top experts in selected fields. They have their own section in the catalog, so a buyer can browse them separately.
For lecturers
For trainers, Workshop.sk is a sales channel. The homepage asks whether you have professional experience, unique know-how and the wish to share it, and invites you to sell your educational activities on Workshop.sk and start winning customers today. The footer lists services aimed at lecturers: becoming a lecturer, lecturer promotion and Workshop akadémia. Lecturers appear in the catalog with customer reviews, and the blog invites them to join its community of authors and present their experience there. The site does not state the commission Workshop.sk takes on a sale.
Lecturers without rooms of their own can rent them. The homepage offers short-term rental of 4 modern, fully equipped training rooms or a broadcast studio, aimed at anyone who lacks training space or the equipment to broadcast an online course well, wants to record a training video, or simply needs a quiet place to work.
Newsletter and blog
Workshop Minute, the monthly newsletter, shows subscribers new lecturers, topics and events each month, among the first to see them. The blog covers education and the workplace; its posts include one on whether employer branding is worth the time and effort, one on Soft Skill School, a development program for children aged 9 to 15, and one on why a Learning & Development Summit was called the online event of 2020.
Who it suits
Workshop.sk suits Slovak companies that want to buy training through one place: an HR or L&D team can pick a lecturer from reviews, send one employee to an open course, bring a trainer in-house on its own dates, or commission a program built around a specific problem. It suits individual professionals in Slovakia who want a live course with a practitioner, in person or over Teams or Zoom. And it suits independent Slovak trainers who want a marketplace for their own courses, with rooms and a studio to hire when they need them.
The format sets its limits. The two formats the site describes are both live, in a room or on a video call, on scheduled or agreed dates, and the site is in Slovak, so it is built for the Slovak training market rather than for learners looking for self-paced video courses in English.
