What Inflearn is

Inflearn (인프런) is a Korean-language online course marketplace where practitioners, which the site calls knowledge sharers, publish video courses and learners buy them one at a time. It is run by Inflab (주식회사 인프랩), and its home page title calls it the largest learning platform for AI and AX courses. The catalog is strongest in programming, backend and frontend development, game development and AI, which is why the entry also sits under coding courses. It serves three readers: a beginner or career changer learning to code, a working developer who wants depth in a specific framework, and an expert who wants to sell a course to that audience. The header also points companies to a corporate training offer (기업 교육) and a business plan, Inflearn Business.

What the company says it stands for

The About page opens with 「우리는 성장기회의 평등을 추구합니다」, a commitment to equal opportunity to grow, and describes Inflearn as a place where anyone can learn what they want, and share what they know, without financial or time constraints. It calls itself a career learning platform for people who love their work and their dreams.

Three promises stand out for buyers. Expertise: knowledge sharers who have spent years, in some cases more than a decade, building careers share their know-how, so a learner without a good senior colleague can still learn from experts. Transparency: the page says that, unlike other services, Inflearn shows every student count and course review without manipulation or selection, so learners can judge for themselves and instructors are pushed to improve. Content over hype: the company says it focuses on good content rather than inflated marketing, expecting good courses to spread on their merits.

A founder's letter explains the origin. The founder wanted to make games, but learning game development meant paying several million won or more in tuition, or settling for low-quality government-funded training. Inflearn was built so that people would not have to give up on what they want to learn.

The catalog

The course list on the home page runs to 160 pages, and the courses on the first page show how the marketplace works. Each card gives the instructor, the regular price, a time-limited 30% discount, the level (입문 introductory, 초급 beginner, or 중급이상 intermediate and above), the topic tags, the star rating with the number of reviews, and the number of students.

The deepest seam is backend development in Java and Spring. Kim Young-han (김영한) has the most students on the page: his Spring MVC Part 1 course shows 31,200+ students, his practical Java basics course 28,100+, his practical Spring Boot and JPA web application course 27,700+, and Spring DB Part 1 20,100+, while a JPA fundamentals course shows 25,600+. His intermediate Java course is listed at ₩66,000, or ₩46,200 with the discount.

For beginners, Inflearn's own course, 프로그래밍 시작하기 : 파이썬 입문 (an Inflearn Original introduction to Python), costs ₩33,000, or ₩23,100 discounted, and shows a 4.8 rating from 1,395 reviews and 34,300+ students. Its description says more than 20,000 people have already taken it and were satisfied, and that Inflearn designed it from a non-major's point of view. A Python course from a software developer with 15 years of experience is ₩121,000. There are frontend courses on TypeScript, JavaScript, CSS3 and HTML5, an all-in-one development bootcamp for non-majors covering JavaScript, React, Node.js, React Native and machine learning at ₩143,000, a Slack clone coding course in React, Git and GitHub, Flutter, C, and an AWS networking introduction.

Game development is the second big strength. Rookiss's MMORPG series in C# and Unity runs from a C# basics course at ₩44,000 to a game server course at ₩88,000, and his casual mobile MMORPG course, which follows a full game from start to release, is listed at ₩1,100,000, or ₩770,000 discounted. There are Unreal Engine 5 Blueprint and C++ MMORPG server courses, and Unity system programming packages.

AI courses include a RAG system built with AI agents and LangGraph, with 8,000+ students, and a LangChain, LangGraph and MCP course. Beyond software, the page lists penetration testing (₩198,000 before discount), digital and analog circuit design taught by a working industry engineer, and practical exam prep for the big data analysis engineer certificate (빅데이터 분석기사), with 5,900+ students. A few courses are free, such as an HTML and internet course made with the coding education channel 생활코딩, which shows 4,000+ students.

Buying and learning

Courses are bought individually in won, and the home page shows most of them with a 30% discount that runs for a limited time. The header advertises a lifelong learning voucher (평생교육이용권), a 90% refund on AI training (AI 교육 90% 환급), and free courses for complete beginners (왕초보 무료). The site has course code and point code registration for redeeming codes, a review collection page, a learner feed and a blog.

Courses are video-based and self-paced. Some cards carry tags such as Update, for refreshed content, a mission tag for courses with hands-on missions, and 답변 활발 for instructors who answer questions actively. The footer's customer center includes notices, a FAQ, a copyright report center, course and feature requests, and a certificate of completion check (수료증 확인), so completion certificates exist and can be verified. A mobile app is available from the footer's Get the app link.

For instructors and companies

Experts apply to teach through 지식공유참여 (join as a knowledge sharer), and the footer also lists mentoring, partnerships and a marketing partners program. The About page's emphasis on open review counts matters for instructors: ratings and student numbers are public from the first sale, which rewards courses that hold up. Companies can buy through the corporate training and Inflearn Business links, and the customer center lists an email address and a phone line.

Who it suits

Inflearn suits Korean-speaking developers and people learning to code, especially those heading for Java and Spring backend roles or game development with Unity and Unreal, where its best-known instructors have tens of thousands of students. Beginners can start with the low-cost Inflearn Original Python course or a free course, and working engineers can buy single deep-dive courses rather than a subscription. The public ratings and student counts make it easy to compare courses before buying.

The catalog is almost entirely in Korean, so it is built for Korean speakers. Prices vary widely, from free to over a million won for the full mobile MMORPG course, so the 30% discounts and codes are worth watching.
