TriviaMaker is an online quiz and trivia game maker that turns a set of questions into a game show. The home page describes it as "an online trivia game maker used by educators, corporate trainers, and event hosts," with "7 interactive game styles" and live games "for up to 2,000 players." Players join from a phone or laptop browser with a code, and only the host needs an account. The footer says TriviaMaker is a trade name of Redwood Pro Media, LLC.
The seven game styles
What sets TriviaMaker apart is the choice of format. The same set of questions can be played in any of seven styles, "no reformatting required":
- Trivia, timed multiple choice with live scoring, for remote teams, classroom warm-ups and large groups.
- Grid, a category board with points where teams compete round by round, the format the site says gets "the most 'can we play again?'"
- List, a survey-style game where players guess the top answers.
- Wheel, where a spin picks the next question, aimed at parties, fundraisers and events.
- Tic Tac, a turn-based board game for small groups that "keeps students thinking even on others' turn."
- Hangman, word guessing with custom words, which the site suggests for "ESL classes, vocabulary review, and spelling practice."
- Fusion, which combines Grid, Trivia, Wheel and others into one session for corporate events and multi-round tournaments.
Beyond the styles there are game modes. Crowd Mode lets everyone play on their own device at once, "from 5 people to 2,000," with a live leaderboard. Buzz Mode uses buzzers, and Assignment Mode lets people complete a quiz "at their own pace."
Building a quiz
The site promises a game "From sign-up to a live multiplayer game in under two minutes." Questions can be typed by hand, imported, or generated by AI.
Manual building. The quiz builder lets a host "assemble, reorder, and score each question by hand - points, timers, images, and all," and save questions for reuse. Question formats include multiple choice, true/false and open-ended, mixed within one quiz, and per-question timers keep live rounds fast. Images can be the question itself or the answer options.
Import. Hosts can "Paste a spreadsheet or upload a CSV or Excel file and the questions, answers, and correct answers are mapped automatically," using a template so the columns match.
AI. The AI question generator "creates complete quiz questions from any topic you type," and a document-to-quiz feature takes a PDF or Word document (or pasted text) and extracts questions and answers. Every generated question can be reviewed and edited, and the FAQ lists AI generation among the paid-plan features.
Hosts can build and edit on a computer or phone, and the home page links to iOS and Android versions as well as the browser app. A library of ready-made quiz templates covers general knowledge, corporate training (for example "AI Basics for Business" and "Leadership & Management Essentials"), classroom review ("Multiplication Mastery Challenge," "Spelling Bee Hangman - Grade 5"), icebreakers and holiday trivia.
Running a game and tracking results
To launch, the host clicks Launch and shares "the 6-digit join code or QR code"; players join "on any device - no app download, no student login required." For remote sessions the host shares a screen in Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Google Meet while players answer on their own phones. Quizzes can also be shared by direct link or embedded "directly into your website or LMS."
Scoring is automatic and appears live on the leaderboard. Afterward, hosts "Track per-participant and per-question performance" and "Export CSV reports for grading or training records." The interface and games can be localized, and "one quiz can be shared with audiences in different languages."
For teachers, schools and companies
For teachers, the site's pitch is "Your students will actually look forward to review sessions," with the teacher hosting "like a Game show host" in a virtual or in-person classroom. The teacher section states "FERPA & COPPA Compliant" and "No student data collected. Safe for K-12." Schools can buy for all their teachers through "TriviaMaker for Schools," which the site suggests raising with a principal or district admin.
For companies, TriviaMaker covers "onboarding, compliance training, virtual events, meetings, or Team building events," with training analytics that "Track completion, scores, and knowledge gaps." Assignment Mode is the piece for training: "Assignment Mode lets employees complete quizzes at their own pace." Events and pub trivia get theme music, custom branding and leaderboards. The home page says TriviaMaker is "Trusted by teams at Google, Amazon, Stanford, Microsoft & more."
Plans and prices
The pricing table shows four plans.
- Basic ($0 a month, no credit card). Grid, Trivia and List styles in a limited form, Crowd Mode with 20 participants and Buzz Mode with 20 buzzers. The FAQ adds that the free plan allows unlimited quizzes and "never expires."
- Premium ($6.99 a month billed monthly, with a yearly option marked "Save 63%"). All quiz formats, full customization with logos, colors and backgrounds, 50 teams, buzzers or crowd players, and Assignment Mode with 100 entries.
- Premium Plus ($39.99 a year, shown as an introductory price against $99.99). All formats, 200 teams, buzzers or crowd players, all customization features, team features and priority support.
- Enterprise (custom pricing). Up to 2,000 participants, all customization and team features, priority support and custom integration.
The home page FAQ phrases the entry price as "Paid plans start at $6.99/month (or $19/year)." Paid plans can add music, fonts and videos to the branding, and "White-label options available." All paid plans carry a "7-day money-back guarantee," with "No setup fees" and cancellation at any time from the dashboard.
Giving back
The company states "We give 10% of our profits to help others," and names Water Wells for Africa as one of its current non-profit partners, with a video of its founder helping bring clean water to people in Malawi.
What users say
Becca M., a team trainer, says it "Worked perfectly for our staff training day. People actually paid attention!" Canyon D., a 4th grade teacher, uses it for test review: "They beg me to do it every Friday." Joe M., a youth pastor, says "We project it on the big screen and the energy in the room is incredible."
Who it suits
TriviaMaker suits teachers who want review games in several formats from one question set, trainers who want onboarding and compliance quizzes people complete, and event hosts who need to run trivia for a large crowd. The free plan works for a class or small group of up to 20, while Premium opens every game style and 50 players, and Premium Plus at its yearly price covers 200.
The caveat is that the free plan is narrow: three styles in limited form and 20 players. Groups beyond 200 need an Enterprise quote.
