What YooLearn is
YooLearn is a Romanian-language platform for live online lessons. It connects learners with teachers and trainers for individual or group sessions, and it is built for two sides at once: learners (school students, their parents, and adults learning a skill) who want a teacher, and teachers who want to sell their lessons online. The homepage title states the offer and the entry price in one line: "Platforma cursuri online - LIVE de la 30 lei/ora" (online course platform, live, from 30 lei an hour). The opening sentence describes the service as connecting "cursanți cu profesori și traineri pentru sesiuni individuale sau de grup, adaptate obiectivelor reale de învățare" (learners with teachers and trainers for individual or group sessions, adapted to real learning objectives). The site is operated by Sip Home Study, whose company details sit in the footer.
How it works for a learner
A learner on YooLearn finds a teacher, reads the profile and books live lessons. The site's main menu leads with "Găsește profesor" (find a teacher), and the learner section lists what the platform promises:
- choosing the teacher who is right for you;
- learning at your own pace, from wherever you are;
- access to fields from school education to professional skills;
- a focus on concrete results, not rigid programs;
- saving money and time.
A further list, under "De ce să studiezi pe platforma YooLearn?" (why study on YooLearn), adds detail. Learners can explore several teachers and pick the mentor they get on with best, read teacher profiles before deciding, organize lessons around their own free time without travel, work with teachers from across the country without geographic limits, and receive notifications, with all their lessons managed in one place.
Every lesson is live. The homepage says "Cursurile online sunt 100% live" (the online courses are 100% live), and it describes the service as live lessons "fără constrângeri de program sau locație" (without constraints of schedule or location). There is no library of recorded courses to work through alone; the product is time with a teacher.
What you can study
YooLearn covers school subjects and much more. The homepage speaks of "Profesori de top pentru materiile școlare și extracurriculare" (top teachers for school and extracurricular subjects) and of fields ranging "de la materii școlare la competențe profesionale și pasiuni creative" (from school subjects to professional skills and creative passions). The course index in the footer breaks this into groups: recreational courses, personal development courses, school subjects, online marketing, IT courses, English courses, a course on setting up as a PFA (a Romanian sole trader), and lessons for the clasa pregătitoare, the preparatory year before first grade.
Exam preparation is a visible thread. The site's resource section carries guides on preparing for the Evaluarea Națională 2025 (the national evaluation exam) and a practical guide for parents on the Bacalaureat 2025, with the exam calendar, study methods and resources. The homepage also claims that "94% din elevii care fac pregătire spun că meditațiile pentru examene îi ajută" (94% of students who prepare say exam tutoring helps them). The page gives no source or survey for that figure, so it reads as the company's own claim.
Prices
The one published price is the entry rate: lessons "de la 30 lei/ora", from 30 lei an hour. Above that, prices are set by each teacher: the teacher section says teachers set their own availability and prices ("Îți stabilești singur disponibilitatea și prețurile"). So 30 lei is the floor of the range, and a learner sees the actual rate on the teacher's profile. For parents, the site's pitch is "Costuri mai mici și rezultate mai bune pentru copilul tău" (lower costs and better results for your child).
How it works for a teacher
YooLearn is also a place to teach, and the homepage gives teachers as much space as learners. Under "Un profesor bun merită un cadru profesionist" (a good teacher deserves a professional setting), it promises a structured environment that gives teachers control over their work and access to learners across the country. The list of what a teacher gets:
- a professional profile showing experience and skills;
- setting their own availability and prices;
- working one-to-one or with groups, on clear objectives;
- managing lessons and activity from a single place;
- extra income from online teaching.
The teacher card in the "advantages" block sums it up as extra earnings and "o expunere națională" (national exposure). A "Calculator venituri" (income calculator) in the main menu lets a prospective teacher estimate earnings, and the footer addresses three kinds of teacher separately: school teachers, trainers, and anyone who wants to teach. The site also publishes a code of conduct and separate terms and conditions for students and for teachers, which shows the platform sets rules for both sides of a lesson.
Company and support
The footer names the operator as Sip Home Study, with its CUI (44072734) and trade register number (J40/6400/2021). The address it gives is in Sector 1, București. Support is by phone, with hours given as 10.00 to 18.00, and by email. The site has an FAQ, a contact page, a blog and an "about us" page, and YooLearn is on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube and Vimeo.
Who it suits
YooLearn suits a Romanian-speaking family looking for a tutor for school, especially a parent preparing a child for the Evaluarea Națională or the Bacalaureat, who wants to compare teachers and prices and book lessons online rather than drive to a tutoring center. It also suits adults who want a live teacher for English, IT, online marketing or a hobby, and parents of children starting the preparatory class. Because each teacher sets their own price above the 30 lei entry rate, a learner on a tight budget can look for a teacher at the low end, while one who wants a very experienced teacher can pay more.
On the other side, it suits teachers and trainers in Romania who want to teach live online, set their own rates and reach learners beyond their own town, without building a website or a booking system of their own.
It is a poor fit for anyone who wants a self-paced course with recorded videos, since every lesson is live, and for learners who do not speak Romanian, since the site and its teachers address Romanian learners and the Romanian school system. Families wanting a fixed curriculum delivered the same way to every student will find the model built around the individual teacher and the learner's own goals instead.
