Tutree

Tap a star to rate

Tutree is a one-to-one tutoring service for children, teenagers and adults, built mainly around school subjects for K-12 students. Its home page offers "Personalized 1-on-1 learning in Math, English, Science, Coding, and Test Prep for students, adult learners, and working professionals", with every enrollment including "1:1 live classes" and "1 dedicated academic counselor." Classes are delivered online and in person, and the site advertises "10+ Years Trusted Tutoring." The company lists an address in Sunnyvale, California, and its math program carries a STEM.org certification that the site displays as "STEM.org Accredited™ Partner." It is a learner product, sold mostly to parents, with a free first lesson as the way in.

Programs

The home page lists five programs. Math, for grades K to 12, builds problem-solving skills in algebra, geometry, arithmetic, calculus and more. Coding, also K to 12, covers Scratch, Python, JavaScript, AI basics, game development and web development. English, K to 12, works on grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing and communication. Science, for grades 4 to 12, covers biology, chemistry and physics through concept-based learning. Test Prep, marked new and open to all ages, offers personalized strategies, practice tests and expert guidance; elsewhere the site names SAT and ACT preparation, school exam preparation and mock tests. The FAQ adds reading and writing to the subject list.

For older learners, a Test Prep and Career Learning track covers college learners and working professionals, with career skill development and interview preparation alongside exam preparation. A Future-Ready Skills strand groups coding and programming fundamentals, AI and technology basics for beginners, creative hands-on projects and digital skills.

The math program has its own page. It describes an online program for kids aged 6-15 with one-on-one classes tailored to each child, split into two bands: basic math concepts and problem-solving for ages 6 to 10, and advanced concepts and critical thinking for ages 11 to 15. Tutors, it says, mix visual, listening-based and kinesthetic teaching methods and adjust them as they track a child's progress. A downloadable math curriculum for kids is offered from the home page.

The teaching approach is summed up as "We focus on understanding, not memorization." The home page lists step-by-step learning, concept clarity across subjects, problem-solving and critical thinking, personalized study plans and interactive live classes with tutor support, with regular practice and reinforcement between sessions.

How classes work

Getting started takes three steps on the home page. Choose your program: the subject and learning plan that match the child's goals and grade level. Meet your tutor: the family is matched with a qualified tutor based on schedule and learning needs. Start learning: attend live interactive classes, track progress, and improve with personalized guidance. The FAQ describes the same path in practice: book a free trial lesson, meet the tutor, then choose a learning plan.

All classes are one-on-one; the FAQ says plainly that there is no group format. Each learner gets a customized learning plan built around goals, strengths, pace and academic needs. Families can switch between math, English, science, coding and test prep as needs change, and a review notes that the company supports requests for a different tutor. The site promises unlimited, flexible scheduling with weekend and evening classes, session recordings, dedicated doubt-solving sessions and homework assistance.

For online lessons, the math page lists interactive whiteboards for real-time collaboration and feedback, video conferencing for face-to-face interaction with tutors, and access to online resources and materials. Parent reviews add detail: one says the 4-year-old's sessions use IXL learning with a live tutor on Zoom, and another praises IXL as a homework tool where parents can monitor progress and time spent, and says the portal makes scheduling easy.

Progress tracking

The FAQ says progress is tracked "through assessments, performance reports, learning milestones, and regular parent or learner updates." The home page lists parent progress reports among its student success features, and the dedicated academic counselor is part of every enrollment. One review describes how this looked for a nephew: an initial analysis of his strengths and weaknesses, a planned 10 session math course, and a patient tutor.

Prices and payment

The site does not print plan prices; families enter a phone number to begin enrollment and browse plans from there. The home page offers a "Buy now, pay over time" financing panel with 6, 12 and 36 month terms, the first shown at 0.00% APR and the longer two at 15.00% APR, and the footer says payments are secured by Stripe. Eligible plans let siblings share learning benefits at no extra cost. Two Google reviews are headed "Great price" and "Reasonable price."

Tutors and reviews

Tutree describes its tutors as expert, experienced and qualified, and a home page claim says 1200+ learners booked a free class in the last 24 hours. The reviews are from parents on Google and name individual tutors and staff. One parent writes that her son, who has ADD and anxiety about being below grade level, has a tutor who is "patient, encouraging, and provides calm redirection." Others describe a daughter who regained confidence in 8th-grade math, a daughter finishing Algebra 2 and preparing for the ACT after trying two other tutors, a 13-year-old learning to code, a son preparing for the SAT, and a 9-year-old who now looks forward to every math class. Several reviewers single out the staff rather than the tutor: one parent credits a staff member for guiding the family through the whole process and patiently answering every question, and another praises the flexibility, organization and professionalism of both the staff and the tutor.

Who it suits

Tutree suits parents who want one-to-one live tutoring for a child from preschool age through high school, with a counselor coordinating, regular progress reports, and the option to move between math, coding, English, science and test prep without changing provider. Families with several children can benefit from sibling sharing on eligible plans, and the free first lesson lets a family judge the tutor before paying. It also covers SAT and ACT preparation and offers career and interview preparation for adults.

It suits less well a family that wants to see prices before giving a phone number, since plans are presented during enrollment, or a learner looking for group classes, which Tutree does not run.
