What Ruvimo Is
Ruvimo is an online tutoring service for students in grades K-12 in the United States. Its home page sums it up as "1-on-1 online sessions for grades K-12" and adds that it is "Trusted by 1,000+ families in US." The company behind it is Ruvimo Learning Inc., and the site lists its headquarters at 5900 Balcones Dr. in Austin, Texas.
The service is built around one idea, printed in capitals on the home page: "SAME TUTOR ALL ALONG." A child is assigned a dedicated tutor and works with that person in every session, rather than meeting whoever happens to be free. Ruvimo is not a marketplace where parents browse hundreds of tutor profiles. It assigns a tutor, and the blog describes that assignment as based on subject and grade match.
The subjects are core school subjects: math from kindergarten through 12th grade and AP Calculus AB, English (phonics, reading, grammar, writing), science, and test prep for the SAT, PSAT and ACT. A blog post on the site also mentions Spanish and history among the subjects offered.
How a Ruvimo Session Works
Every session is private and live, with one tutor and one student, held online from home. The home page describes it as "LIVE and private tutoring sessions from home, anywhere in the U.S.", with flexible scheduling that includes late evenings and weekends, real-time help, and interactive tools. Sessions are one hour long: the pricing cards count the packages in hours of tutoring, and the blog quotes the price per 60-minute session.
Ruvimo's second promise is "SAME TEXTBOOK." The tutor works from the child's actual school textbooks, which the site says ensures "perfect alignment with U.S. education standards. Whether it's Common Core math, ELA, NGSS science, state curriculum, or test prep." In practice this means tutoring follows the class the child is already in, instead of running a separate curriculum alongside it. One parent testimonial mentions sending the tutor assignments and reviews to work through, which fits that model.
According to the company's blog post on Outschool alternatives, each session comes with an AI-generated lesson plan prepared beforehand and a progress summary for parents afterward. The same post explains the reasoning behind the same-tutor rule: "A tutor who sees your child weekly for 4 weeks knows exactly which fractions concept keeps tripping them up. A new tutor each session starts from scratch every time."
Subjects and Grades in Detail
Math gets the deepest coverage. The site has separate pages for every grade from kindergarten to 12th grade, grouped as elementary, middle school and high school math, and for each course a student is likely to meet: pre-algebra, algebra, algebra 2, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, calculus, statistics and AP Calculus AB. A child who starts with arithmetic in an early grade could, in principle, stay with Ruvimo through calculus.
English tutoring covers phonics and reading for younger children, and grammar and writing for older ones. Science is listed as a single subject. For test prep the site names the SAT, PSAT and ACT. The footer also links to summer programs, though the home page does not describe them.
The Tutors
The home page makes three claims about who teaches. Tutors are "UNIVERSITY QUALIFIED INSTRUCTORS" with "degrees from top global universities." They have, on average, "7+ years of experience teaching Math, English, Science, and more." And they are "VETTED FOR QUALITY TEACHING": the company says it selects educators who know both their subject and how to teach it, and describes them as friendly and patient.
The blog post is more specific about where tutors come from. It says they are sourced globally (India, Philippines, Africa) and vetted through AI screening and manual review. The site also has a Become a tutor page for teachers who want to apply.
Pricing
Ruvimo is one of the few tutoring services in this category that prints its prices. The first 1-hour session is free, and the home page says it needs no credit card: "ZERO cost, NO credit card details required. Cancel anytime." After that, families buy a prepaid pack of sessions:
- 8 Sessions for $432, which the card shows as $54 per session, valid for three months
- 25 Sessions for $1125, $45 per session, valid for six months
- 50 Sessions for $1800, $36 per session, valid for twelve months, marked as the most popular
All three packs are 100% private 1-on-1 online sessions. The larger the pack, the lower the price per session, but each pack also expires, so a family buying 50 sessions should plan to use them within the year. The blog post adds that there are no enrollment fees and no contracts. The footer links to a Refunds & Cancellation page, which is where the terms for unused sessions would be.
Results and Testimonials
The home page reports "98% Satisfied Customers" and "95% Grades Improved." These are the company's own figures, and the site does not say how they were measured.
The testimonials are signed by the parent of a student in a named grade or course. A geometry parent writes that the tutor made sessions interactive and "His scores improved from 80 to 85." Another geometry parent says the tutor connects with parents and explains her approach, and that "He has improved in Math from a C to an A grade." Others praise a patient and calm tutor, math games used as breaks, a tutor who made statistics understandable, and the flexibility to book frequent sessions.
Who It Suits
Ruvimo suits parents of a child who is behind or struggling in a core school subject, above all math, and who want weekly 1-on-1 help that follows the class textbook. The same-tutor rule matters most for younger children and for students who need time to trust a tutor before they ask questions. The detailed grade-by-grade math coverage makes it a strong fit for families who expect to need help for more than one school year.
It also suits families who want to know the cost before they start: the prices are on the home page, the first hour is free, and the prepaid packs make the per-session price clear. Older students preparing for the SAT, PSAT or ACT can use it too, especially if they already work with a Ruvimo tutor in math.
It is a narrower fit for families who want to pick a tutor themselves from a large pool, or who need subjects outside the school core. And because packs expire after three, six or twelve months, it works best for families who can commit to a regular weekly slot.
