What My Physics Buddy is

My Physics Buddy (MPB) is a private online tutoring service that teaches one subject only: physics. The home page calls it "The only platform specialising exclusively in physics", covering "71 subjects" from school level to research topics, taught one-to-one by tutors it describes as IIT-trained specialists. It is run by BlueAura iSolutions Private Limited, with a registered office in Patna and an operating office in Bengaluru, India, and the footer names My Engineering Buddy as its sister platform. The founder, Pankaj Kumar, writes that he started MPB because "the right physics tutor changes everything". Like its sibling, MPB promises "Zero AI. 100% Human. 24/7 Help": a person reads every message, a person picks the tutor, and the tutor works through the problem live. The home page headline gives "10K+ Students" and "18+ Yrs of Physics Tutoring".

Subjects and exam prep

The 71 subjects run from introductory topics to graduate physics. The home page features kinematics, environmental physics, optics and electrostatics, each with its own subject page, and the menu lists advanced areas: quantum field theory, quantum mechanics, quantum computing, classical (Newtonian) mechanics, general relativity, thermodynamics and electromagnetism. Tutor profiles add particle physics, mathematical physics and engineering physics. Each subject page opens on the problem a student is likely having; the electrostatics page, for instance, warns that the topic "looks straightforward until Gauss's law, boundary conditions, and Laplace's equation arrive in the same week".

Exam preparation is a separate service with "Personalised Exam Strategy & Problem Solving". The exams named are AP Physics 1, AP Physics 2, AP Physics C: Mechanics and AP Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism, GCSE Physics, IGCSE Physics (0625), IB Physics HL/SL, A/AS Level Physics (9702), MCAT Physics and GRE Physics. That range makes the service relevant both to a high school student before an AP exam and to a medical school applicant brushing up physics for the MCAT.

The tutors

The site says "All MPB tutors hold Masters or PhD qualifications in physics from IITs, NITs, IISc, and equivalent top institutions" and that every tutor "has passed a subject mastery test and a practical tutoring assessment". The 54+ tutors are shown with degree, institution, experience and rating. Three examples on the home page:

  • Faizan P, MSc in theoretical and mathematical physics from Cluster University Srinagar, a high energy physics researcher with 5+ years of experience, rated 4.94/5, teaching quantum mechanics, particle physics and mathematical physics.
  • Vandna G, PhD in physics from Homi Bhabha National Institute and a postdoctoral fellow at Chalmers University, with 4+ years of teaching experience, rated 4.96/5, teaching quantum mechanics, AP Physics 1, both AP Physics C exams and engineering physics.
  • Anu A, M.Sc. and M.Phil. in physics and a PhD researcher in experimental physics at CUSAT, with 10+ years of teaching experience as a guest lecturer and research scholar, rated 4.93/5.

Students do not browse and book these profiles directly; MPB's coordinators make the match, though profiles are public and a Become a Tutor page recruits new ones.

How a session works

The process has three steps. A student messages MPB on WhatsApp or by email with the physics subject and level and shares any materials, and "A real human responds within minutes, 24/7"; the stated average response time is 1 minute. MPB matches a tutor "within the hour", the student agrees the fee and pays by PayPal, credit card, UPI or bank transfer, and then joins by Google Meet link. The tutor has read the materials beforehand, the two work on a live two-way whiteboard, and the tutor sends written notes to the student's WhatsApp after every session. There is no registration. The site spells out what the no-AI promise covers: "No AI chatbots. No algorithm-matched tutors. No generated solutions." The site also publishes an Academic Integrity policy and frames its help as learning support, warning against using materials for academic dishonesty.

Prices and the $1 trial

One-to-one tutoring "Starts USD 20 /hr" and exam preparation "Starts USD 25 /hr". These are starting rates, and the fee for a given student is agreed before the session. New students can try 30 minutes with a physics tutor on Google Meet for $1, and the site promises to refund the $1 if the student is not satisfied: "No conditions." It adds that "75% of students find their preferred tutor on the first trial session." The founder's note promises "a personal money-back guarantee"; the home page links to a Refund Policy for the terms. There is no subscription or package to buy.

Reviews and results

MPB reports an average of 4.8/5 from 4,000+ student reviews, with platform scores shown as 4.4 on Trustpilot, 4.9 on Reviews.io and 5.0 on Google. The home page carries reviews with session counts and universities attached. A May at Boston University, after 19 sessions in quantum mechanics, writes: "My grade went from a D+ to an A-." M Wilson at the University of Edinburgh, after 24 sessions, says "I was considering dropping the course, but Mouli D changed that" and notes the tutor "is available at short notice when urgently needed." M Ward, also at Edinburgh, says that after the sessions "I can complete my homework independently." A UCSB student thanks the tutor for "accurate solutions and extra books provided". These are the company's own selected reviews.

Who it suits

MPB suits physics students at any level who want a specialist rather than a general tutor: a school student facing GCSE, IGCSE, A Level, IB or AP Physics, a university student in quantum mechanics, electromagnetism or general relativity who is falling behind, and an MCAT or GRE candidate who needs the physics section in shape. The $1 trial lowers the cost of finding out whether a tutor fits, and the WhatsApp contact and round-the-clock replies help a student with a deadline. Because the coordinators choose the tutor, it also suits learners who would rather describe their problem than compare dozens of profiles.

It is not a course: there are no recorded lessons, no self-paced program, no group classes and no certificate. Learners who want to study physics on their own through video lectures and problem sets, or who want several subjects from one tutor, should look at a broader catalog or tutoring marketplace. For engineering and other STEM subjects, the same company runs My Engineering Buddy.
