What Flalingo is

Flalingo is an online English school built on live one-on-one lessons with tutors. The site describes itself as "an English learning platform supported by artificial intelligence that offers live lessons with expert instructors." It is a product for learners: adults studying general or business English, people preparing for an English exam, parents looking for lessons for a child, and companies buying English training for staff. Unlike an open tutor marketplace where anyone can list themselves, Flalingo presents its tutors as selected by the company: the homepage says "Carefully selected through our interviews, meet our professional tutors!" and the page description adds "Meet our professional teachers who were selected through interview! Attend one-on-one live lessons."

The homepage lists a contact address at 445 South California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA, in the United States, alongside an email address and a WhatsApp contact option. The program menu offers five tracks: Individual, Kids, Business, Exam and Corporate, also listed in the footer as General English, Business English, English for children, Exam English and Corporate English.

How lessons and matching work

The homepage headline is "Learn English with the Right Tutors," followed by "Let our smart algorithm find the perfect tutor for you!" Matching is the core of the pitch. Under the heading "Smart Matching Algorithm," the site argues that choosing the right tutor is the most important factor in learning a language. The start-up path is laid out as four steps, "1, 2, 3, 4... Flalingo!": Register, Select the Tutor Pool, Start Your Subscription, and Join the Class! So lessons are sold as a subscription rather than one lesson at a time, and the learner picks from a pool of tutors the system proposes. A form on the homepage lets a visitor leave a name, email and phone number to "reach an education advisor right now," and the footer links to a Flalingo Demo page.

Four tutors are shown on the homepage, each with a video introduction: Ana (3+ years of experience, American accent), Steve (10+ years of experience, American accent), Vincent (4+ years of experience, American accent) and Larisca (5+ years of experience, British accent). All four are listed with the certificate "TEFL Certified." These are the profiles the site chooses to feature, not a statement about every tutor in the pool.

The homepage groups its distinguishing features under "Only on Flalingo": an "Artificial Intelligence Coach," the "Smart Matching Algorithm," "24/7 Live Support" and "Smart Personalized Materials." Progress tracking runs through what the site calls the "Advanced Course Tracking System": "Thanks to your education consultant and FLAI, you will be able to track your progress closely and find your areas where you lack or need motivation." A blog post on the site describes Flalingo as combining "a structured curriculum with one-on-one lessons and AI-generated progress reports." Elsewhere the homepage says "Our consultants are always with you!" and describes "easily accessible education consultants and tutors," which positions Flalingo as a managed school with advisors rather than a self-serve directory.

On materials, the site claims "Quality educational materials" and says "With our innovative language teaching method, we have redefined the rules!" The method has its own page, Flalingo Method, linked from the footer.

Exam preparation, tests and free resources

Exam English is a full track. The footer lists exam preparation for IELTS, TOEFL, OET, PTE and TOEIC, plus an IELTS Mock Exam and a TOEFL Practice Exam. Learners can also take an Accent Test, a Level Test, and a separate Level Test for Children, which is a useful way to gauge a starting point before subscribing.

Beyond lessons, the site publishes self-study material under "Sources": learning guides, Daily English News, English Games, English Stories, and English Speaking Practice with Artificial Intelligence. A Parent Academy section is linked for parents of young learners. The blog covers English speaking topics and includes a post titled "What Was My Experience with a Flalingo Group Lesson?", which shows group lessons exist alongside the one-on-one format.

Certificate, apps and reviews

Flalingo offers a certificate tied to hours of study. Under the heading "Accredited Digital Certificate," the homepage says: "As soon as you complete 30 hours on Flalingo, you can receive a certificate issued in your name and access it through our system." The site does not name an accrediting body, so learners should treat it as a Flalingo certificate of study hours rather than an exam result such as an IELTS or TOEFL score.

The platform has mobile apps; the homepage links to downloads from the App Store and Google Play. It shows "Google Reviews 4.9 Stars" from "710 reviews," with "24/7 Student Support."

The homepage carries testimonials from learners, parents and teachers. İrfan Akdeniz writes: "I did extensive research before choosing this app. I've even used it on other apps, but Flalingo truly stands out in many ways." A parent signing as S Y writes: "Thanks to Flalingo, my daughter loves English! After 4 years at college she could never speak it, but in just 4 lessons she gained confidence and started speaking." Haldun Bilgi, writing about a 7-year-old son, says: "Three times a week isn't enough for him because the experienced teachers run the lessons so effectively." Tuncay Bayrak writes: "Flalingo provides a great system for our children to improve their language skills." Yusuf K. adds: "The instructors are patient and skilled, making learning both fun and effective."

Two testimonials come from teachers. Sona calls it "a tested and trusted platform for any teacher looking for a reliable and decent-paying teaching site," and Niloofar Kh writes that "The resources and support provided have significantly enhanced my teaching experience." The footer links to Career, "Be a teacher" and a Flalingo Partnership Program, so the company recruits tutors directly.

Pricing

The site has a Prices page in its menu, and the start path includes a subscription step, but the homepage itself shows no prices or plan lengths. A learner has to open the Prices page or speak to an education advisor to see what a subscription costs.

Who it suits and who it does not

Flalingo suits an adult or teenage learner who wants regular one-on-one English lessons with a tutor chosen for them rather than searched for, and who values an advisor and progress reports alongside the lessons. It fits a learner preparing for IELTS, TOEFL, OET, PTE or TOEIC who wants mock exams and practice tests in the same place, and parents who want a children's track, a children's level test and a Parent Academy. Companies can look at the Corporate English track. The level and accent tests and the free self-study materials give a way to try the platform's material before committing.

It suits less well a learner who wants to study a language other than English, since Flalingo teaches English only. Someone who prefers to browse thousands of tutor profiles and pay lesson by lesson will find the subscription and matching model more structured than they want. And a learner who needs an internationally recognized qualification should plan to sit an official exam; the Flalingo certificate after 30 hours records study time on the platform.
