Boddle Learning makes a 3D learning game for children from kindergarten through 6th grade, built to practice math and English language arts (ELA). Its page title sums it up as a "3D Math and ELA Game for K-6 Kids", and the site's description promises to "boost math and English engagement and close learning gaps" with an "adaptive learning platform". Children play; teachers and parents set it up, steer it and watch the results.
The scale it claims is large. The homepage says Boddle is "Trusted by 650,000+ educators in all 50 states" and "Loved by more than 10 million students, parents and teachers." The About page gives the mission: "to help kids grow their love for learning so that they can build a brighter future," and to "ensure that fun and high-quality learning is available and accessible to all students around the world."
How the game works
The homepage sets out three steps. First, sign up: "Sign up for an account and easily add students with single sign-on or manually through your teacher/parent portal." Second, get students on: "The game will teach them how to play. They will answer curriculum-aligned questions in order to collect pets, complete quests, and continue playing." Third, enhance learning: "Either let the adaptive path progress your students or use the teacher/parent portal tools to assign specific content, view data, and manage gameplay."
That third step is the core of the product. By default the adaptive path decides what each child sees next, so a class of mixed ability can all play at once without the teacher sorting them first. When a teacher or parent wants a particular skill practiced, they override the path from the portal and assign the content directly.
Each child plays as their own character, a Boddle. The About page explains the name: "Our bottle-headed characters let students know the importance of filling up on knowledge, valuing each other's strengths, and pouring back out to help others." In the game's own logic, "Boddles collect knowledge and fill their heads by learning" and "pour back out to grow stuff when their heads are full." The site's closing line plays on the same idea: "Download Boddle, and fill up on learning."
For teachers
Boddle is "Totally free for educators", and the homepage invites teachers to "sign up for free." The teacher section promises "Adaptive learning and free tools to support your classroom and motivate learning" and lists four of them: standards-aligned skills, performance tracking, a progress report, and math facts features. On standards, the site says the curriculum is "aligned to standards such as CCSS, TEKS, Florida B.E.S.T., and many more!"
The homepage headline is "Easy for Teachers, Actually Fun for Students," and a banner sums up what teachers love about it: that it is standards-aligned, research-backed, easy to use, fun and free. The navigation adds a School/District page for wider rollouts, a teacher page, teaching resources, and a shop.
The teacher posts on the homepage show how classrooms use it. Paige Brendle writes that her class is "absolutely loving a new math game called @BoddleLearning" and calls it "such a fun way to spend center time practicing valuable math skills that also tracks student progress. Each student even gets to make their own fun character!" Mrs. Braun reports: "We added @BoddleLearning to our new math time last week and it was a new favorite in the first 5 minutes!" Cara Kelley introduced it to her kindergartners and calls it "a great website for practicing math!" Katy Henson says it "was so engaging and easy to navigate for all students."
For parents and homeschoolers
Parents get their own sign-up, their own portal and a paid tier, Boddle Premium. The homepage addresses "Parents and homeschoolers" with the promise of "Healthy screen time that helps your child level up in math, ELA, and science", which puts science on the parent side alongside math and ELA. The call to action for families is "Parents, explore Premium", and a homepage banner runs a back-to-school offer: "get 30% off Boddle Premium today!" The homepage gives no Premium price. Families can also browse the Boddle shop.
A parent's post on the homepage captures the home side. Jennifer Morse writes: "My daughter has not stopped talking about you @BoddleLearning since you introduced her to it!" A Google Play review from a child, Adam A, reads: "I liked this app! I've been playing nonstop! Till my mom told me to take a break."
Devices and access
The game runs "on web, iOS, and Android", so a child can play on a school computer, a tablet or a phone. One teacher's post describes a student who "set up @BoddleLearning on his phone." Sign-up paths exist for teachers, parents and students, and teachers and parents log in to the same portal.
Privacy and safety
For a game played by kindergartners, privacy is a buying question, and Boddle answers it on the homepage. It says it was "Awarded the Common Sense Privacy Seal, KidSafe Certified and compliant with COPPA, FERPA, and SOPPA", and a banner repeats that it is "Fully FERPA and COPPA compliant." A section headed "Student privacy is our priority" links to the company's privacy material, and the footer carries a student privacy notice, a separate privacy notice for parents and educators, and an accessibility statement. Links to Boddle's social pages sit behind a check that asks "Are you 13 or older?", with the note that "Boddle's social pages are made for grown-ups."
Research, case studies and support
Boddle presents itself as evidence-based, with two sections behind it: case studies that "Explore the powerful ways educators are using Boddle to engage and inspire students through game-based learning," and research to "Discover the evidence behind how Boddle can enhance student achievement and motivate learners." The About page frames its aims as Engaging, Effective and Transformative, and says of the second: "We produce actual growth in student performance that you can easily monitor."
Support runs through a support center, FAQs, a getting-set-up guide, a page for network issues and a contact page.
Who it suits
Boddle suits a K-6 teacher who wants a free, standards-aligned practice game for center time or independent practice, with adaptive pacing so a mixed-ability class can play at once and data the teacher can act on. It also suits parents and homeschoolers who want game-style screen time in math, ELA and science, with a portal to assign skills and check progress, and who are willing to pay for Premium.
The game format is the whole design, so it is a practice and engagement tool rather than a full curriculum, and children who are not motivated by pets, quests and characters will get less from it.
