What HelpKidzLearn is

HelpKidzLearn is an online platform of accessible learning software for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Its homepage says it supports "educators, therapists and families" working with "learners with severe, profound and complex needs", and that everything works "with touch, switches, eye gaze, mouse and keyboard." The About page says HelpKidzLearn launched in 2007 and "emerged from Inclusive Technology, a company specialising in assistive technology and educational software"; the contact page gives Inclusive Technology Ltd's address in Oldham, United Kingdom.

This is not a general course catalog. The buyer is usually a special school, a district, a specialist setting or a therapist, and the learner is often at a very early developmental stage, working on attention, cause and effect, switch control or eye gaze before any subject content. The homepage says it is "Trusted by 6,500+ schools and districts in 52 countries" and counts "130,000+" teachers and "325,000+" students. The About page describes "an online subscriber base of over 6,500 schools world-wide and a growing number of families at home."

The six web products

The platform is a family of products that share one login hub. The products page sets out what each is best for.

Sensory Space is "Best for sensory engagement and early cause and effect." Learners get visual and sound feedback through press-and-hold, timed and movement-based interactions, grouped into categories that build attention, anticipation, decision-making and independent discovery. Teachers can change the color palette and choose from soundscapes the page says are made "using advanced AI technology". It runs on Windows, Mac, Chromebook and iPad, and the page describes it as built on the company's Inclusive Game Container (IGC). A free "Getting Started with Sensory Space" guide covers setting it up, and a short video shows a SEND teacher using it to help learners regulate.

Games & Activities is "often the broadest starting point", with "300 accessible game-based activities" organized into learning objectives that run from cause and effect to sequencing, timing, targeting and choice making. The products page recommends it as the usual start for developing switch skills.

Inclusive Stories uses interactive sensory stories to support "literacy, comprehension, communication and participation", and the products page suggests it for introducing routines, social understanding, functional skills or cross-curricular themes.

ChooseIt Maker lets educators, therapists and parents build their own choice-making activities from photos, text, sounds and symbols. The products page says users can upload photos, use text-to-speech, add audio and "choose from over 30,000 symbols".

ChooseIt Readymades is the ready-made counterpart: "Over 660 multiple-choice curriculum activities covering literacy, numeracy, and science", with built-in reinforcement and progress tracking.

Insight is the odd one out, an assessment and teaching system for early vision and cognition through eye gaze. It is covered in more detail below.

The homepage presents these as a progression rather than a fixed route: a learner might begin with Sensory Space, move into Games & Activities, and reach Inclusive Stories or the ChooseIt products when ready.

Features shared across products

Three features tie the products together. Student Profiles save each learner's preferred access method, settings and personal details. Playlists combine activities from different products into a personalized sequence, so a teacher can, for example, mix sensory exploration with cause-and-effect games in one session. Student Analytics shows engagement, responses and progress "through built-in dashboards and reports." The Sensory Space page adds that teachers can plan and deliver structured sessions quickly using playlists and profiles.

Insight in detail

Insight is built for students "who use eye gaze technology" and needs no physical skills from the learner. The page says it is designed for students with significant visual difficulties and CVI, and for students at risk of vision problems, naming cerebral palsy, learning difficulties, hearing impairment, epilepsy and profound or multiple learning disabilities.

Its learning goals are grouped under Vision (from visual sensory and oculomotor functions through smooth pursuit to visual search and discrimination), Cognition (from noticing stimuli to sequencing actions, selecting from two or more and early problem solving) and Engagement (awareness, investigation, anticipation, persistence). The page mentions "100's of assessment activities" in small graded steps, with intelligent recommendations for what to do next. Two report types track results: Overall Performance for a learner's current level in vision and cognition, and Historical Performance for patterns over time.

On hardware, Insight "Works with all eye trackers that provide simple mouse emulation (cursor control)", which are sold separately, and for Tobii devices the page points to the free Gaze Point software or mouse emulation mode. No calibration skills are needed: the page says its activities and algorithms measure ability "regardless of calibration quality", which it calls "a world first". A testimonial from Little Light House, by its Vision and Assistive Technology Coordinator, says Insight "provided us much needed objective information that supported our observations with our own functional vision assessment".

iPad apps

Alongside the web platform, HelpKidzLearn sells iPad apps: "Over 60 touch and switch accessible iPad Apps" in its Bitesize range for early years and children with special educational needs, a set of motivational Educational Apps, and App Bundles that package several apps "at a discounted price."

Privacy and data

The site footer states: "HelpKidzLearn Hub prioritises student privacy. We comply with COPPA, FERPA, and CSPC, ensuring the highest data security standards." The Insight page repeats that its activities are "COPPA, FERPA, and CSPC compliant". The legal links include an information security policy and a list of third-party service providers, and the menu links to a public status page.

Buying and support

The product pages carry "View pricing" and "Sign up now" links, and sales enquiries go through a contact form, phone, live chat or post to the UK office. The site says its "network of international resellers delivers 24/7 support and guidance to customers", with a reseller finder. A separate product support site handles login details, account management, subscription options, payment information and technical questions. Self-help resources include guides, webinars, case studies, a knowledge base and a loyalty program.

What schools say

The Sensory Space page quotes three English schools. Green Fold School in Bolton says: "Sensory Space is totally accessible. For those children just starting out, it hits really well." Holly Grove in Burnley says the children who tried it "have been totally mesmerised by the animations, colours, and the sound effects". Pendle View Primary School in Colne praises "the descriptions explaining what skills are developed", adding that "the software adapts to our pupils' individual needs."

The About page says every product, feature and new function is reviewed by an expert steering group of "highly experienced educators, teachers, therapists and parents", with feedback gathered before, during and after design, and that the company has "won many awards for our innovative products and content."

Who it suits

HelpKidzLearn suits special schools, SEND units, districts and therapists who support learners with severe, profound and complex needs, and families doing the same at home. A school whose pupils use switches or eye gaze gets one platform where every product works with those access methods, with shared profiles and analytics. Insight is the specific draw for vision and AAC-readiness work. Mainstream schools looking for a standard curriculum course will find the content pitched at early developmental skills, and buyers who want to compare costs will need to follow the pricing links or speak to sales or a local reseller.
