What Classover is

Classover is a live online afterschool program for children, run from Manhattan, New York. It is a learner product for parents: a family books a free trial, downloads the Classover app, picks a plan, and the child joins live classes with a teacher and a few other children. The FAQ describes Classover as "a leading provider of online classes designed exclusively for children ages 4 to 12", while the home page headline pitches "Unlimited K-12 afterschool & homeschool teacher-led small group lessons". The footer sums it up as "an afterschool live online enrichment program based in Manhattan, New York", with classes offered to students around the globe.

The home page's main promise is "Unlimited Live & Interactive Classes for One Flat Fee". It reports that Classover is "Trusted by 10,000+ families" and has "Performed over 200,000 classes".

The subjects

Classover says it offers "courses in over 18 high-demand subjects", and the home page lists them by name: Singing, Coding, French, Chess, Chinese, English Storytelling, Creative Writing, Dance, Lego, Phonics, Public Speaking, Drawing, Guitar, Yoga, Piano, Math & Logic, Spanish and Ukulele. The menu splits the offer into afterschool classes and tutoring. The site frames the range as running "From afterschool enrichment to academic advancement and homeschooling", with a curriculum it calls professionally crafted and "Tailored to fit your schedule and your child's pace."

That mix is the product's character. With one flat fee for unlimited classes, a child can mix subjects such as coding, piano and Spanish in the same app. The parent reviews on the home page show families doing exactly that: one parent signed her son up for coding and writing, another chose Math and Logic and then added coding, and a third came for Spanish.

How classes work

Every class is live, in small groups of 1 to 6 students. The FAQ ties the small groups to its teaching: "with a low student-to-instructor ratio, we ensure an optimized learning environment for our students." Children see and talk to the teacher and to each other in real time. One parent, Stella, describes her daughter's drawing classes: "It was so fun that there were other kids online learning with her and that she could interact live with teacher", adding that "the kids can earn little medals for doing a good job!"

Joining is done through the app. The FAQ explains two ways in: on a smartphone, iPad or other mobile device, an "Enter" button appears on the Classover homepage 5 minutes before class; or the "Schedule" button at the top of the app shows "My Course Schedule", with an "Enter Classroom" button. Installing is simple, according to the FAQ: visit the download page, choose your device version and click install. The download page offers separate versions for students and for parents, and the alternate home page promises customizable courses accessible through any device. The site's three-step summary is: contact Classover to sign up, download the app and choose a credit plan, then "Take a class Anytime & Anywhere!"

Paid families have a course advisor. The FAQ says advisors handle special requests and recommends enrolling in classes well in advance.

The teachers

Teachers are the main selling point. The home page claims "1000+ Top Certified Teachers from across America" and says its "stringent selection process ensures that 99% of our Classover educators hold state certifications and boast extensive teaching tenures", with "Only the top 3% applicants" chosen. The FAQ adds that each instructor is a certified teacher in the United States, describing them as responsive, organized, articulate and passionate about their subjects. The "What is Classover?" answer says the company prioritizes teachers with backgrounds from Ivy League schools in crafting its curriculum.

An alternate version of the home page gives a smaller figure, "over 200 highly-skilled teachers with extensive experience as elementary and middle school personnel", and introduces some of them by subject: Jodi for art, Joseph for math, Joshua for English, Kayla and Jane for singing, and Marynés for Spanish. Each comes with a short motto; the math teacher's is "Practice makes perfect, and learn from your mistakes," and one singing teacher's is "I believe we can always have fun and learn something new!" The menu also has a Teacher of the Month feature.

Pricing and the free trial

Classover publishes two price points. The home page lists classes starting at $5.99 for a 55-minute class, and offers "Unlimited Classes for only $399/month". Families buy a credit plan in the app. For full pricing details, the FAQ sends parents to customer support through a WeChat QR code, where a representative answers pricing questions, and it says Classover takes a wide variety of payment methods. The footer links a Privacy & Refund Policy.

The free trial is easy to book. The FAQ says to choose "Try Now" under the Free Trial section, select "book", and pick a course and time; the class then appears in your calendar automatically. One family, the mother of Adalynn and Alyssa, writes that they "tried out the free trial classes and fell in love!"

What parents say

The reviews on the home page are mostly about engagement and convenience. Archana Dhankar writes that keeping her child busy in the summer holiday was a challenge until her son tried coding and writing classes, and "While he is busy with his classes, I got so much work done." Hannah and Sophia's mother says that after a few weeks of Math and Logic and coding, the platform proved "informative, easy-to-follow, and fun!" Daniel's mother calls the teachers "very humorous and attentive."

Who it suits

Classover suits parents who want live, small-group classes for younger children across many subjects without signing up with a different provider for each one. It fits working parents who need structured afterschool time at home, homeschooling families adding enrichment such as music, languages or chess, and families with a child who wants to try several activities before settling on one. The unlimited plan suits a child who will take classes most days, while the per-class starting price works for lighter use.

It suits less well a family that wants a structured, graded school curriculum in one subject, or one that prefers to see full plan terms before contacting anyone, since detailed pricing goes through customer support. Families should also note that the core age range is 4 to 12.
