授業料を払わずに受けられる大学の講義、非営利団体によるチュートリアル、オープンコースウェアで、中には最後に有料の修了証を選べるものもあります。無料の選択肢と、同じテーマを扱う有料の選択肢とで、思っているほど品質に差がないことも多いです。これらの一部は、修了証を販売しているプラットフォームの無料枠に過ぎないからです。
