Yoga International

Tap a star to rate

Yoga International is an online yoga membership for learners: a streaming library of yoga classes, meditations and breathwork, plus courses and challenges for teachers and committed practitioners who want to study philosophy, anatomy and Ayurveda alongside the physical practice. The company's FAQ calls it "the world's leading streaming platform for comprehensive, high-quality online yoga, meditation, breathwork, and in-depth yoga education." Its roots are in print: the FAQ says Yoga International has been sharing yogic wisdom since 1991, "when it was first an award-winning print magazine." The home page puts its community at over 1,000,000 people since that year. The site runs in English and Spanish, and one membership opens the whole library after a 7-day free trial.

Classes, meditation and breathwork

The core of the membership is an on-demand class library. The membership list on the home page counts 3,000+ yoga classes, 700+ meditations and 100+ breathwork practices. The FAQ says the platform offers over 15 yoga styles, naming hatha, vinyasa, Kundalini, Yin, Jivamukti, Forrest, gentle, prenatal, postpartum, restorative, slow flow and yoga nidra among them, and the class menu adds Ashtanga. Classes can be filtered by time, level, anatomy and focus tags, and the classes page adds instructor as a filter. In the page's own examples, a member can stream a 90-minute hatha class or a 20-minute prenatal practice, or download an alignment-based vinyasa class or a guided relaxation.

Classes stream on whatever device a member prefers, and the classes page says members can also enjoy classes and view tutorials offline. Short tutorials sit beside full-length practices: targeted videos on standing and seated poses, backbends, twists and inversions, and video tips for fine-tuning postures. Some classes focus on one area of the body, others offer variations on traditional poses. The classes page also mentions email alerts when a new class or challenge goes up, and the FAQ describes the classes as ad-free. The teachers, in the home page's description, "come from a multitude of educational backgrounds and experiences," and an Our Teachers section introduces them.

Meditations are grouped by purpose: sleep better, reduce stress, morning meditations and get focused. Breathwork is split into calming, energizing and stress-reducing sessions. The FAQ also lists yoga pose guides, Ayurvedic recipes, e-books and articles in the membership. The home page puts the article count at 2,700+, with sections on practice, yoga therapy, Ayurveda, poses, tutorials and material written for teachers.

Courses, challenges and films

What separates Yoga International from a class-only app is its study material. The home page offers 300+ courses and challenges and says that "For yoga teachers and seasoned practitioners, we offer comprehensive education to advance your yoga career." Listed topics include Ayurveda, longevity, anatomy and physiology, mantras and mudras, spirituality, pregnancy, yoga therapy, Tantra, Yin and sequencing. The FAQ adds yoga philosophy, the subtle body, yoga nidra, chakras, koshas, kundalini, yoga for common conditions and advanced practices such as nauli kriya. Courses go deep on a subject, while challenges are pitched as a way to reignite a personal practice.

A Docs & Films section holds documentaries about the ancient wisdom of yoga, and the membership list counts 15+ docuseries and podcasts. The FAQ describes the teaching as going "beyond asana," with material on "mudras, mantras, Tantra, Ayurveda, the Yamas and Niyamas, kundalini, chakras, and more," delivered in a way that blends "the spiritual with the pragmatic and the mystical with the scientific."

Premium trainings are a separate product. The FAQ describes them as longer-form trainings on a specific yoga topic or a specific school of yoga that "may culminate in a certification." They are bought separately from the membership, and members get a discount on select trainings: 10% on the monthly plan and 20% on the annual one. The site does not list the trainings' own prices.

Certificates and Yoga Alliance credits

For teachers, continuing education is the main draw. The FAQ states that "All member courses, docuseries, and challenges, as well as our non-member premium trainings, count toward non-contact CEUs (continuing education units) with Yoga Alliance." It also says every member course, member challenge and premium training a learner completes earns a Yoga International completion certificate, and the home page lists Yoga Alliance credits and Yoga International certificates under "What You'll Earn." The same FAQ draws a clear line: "Yoga International is not a certifying body, and does not certify yoga teachers." The certificates document completed study and, per the FAQ, count toward Yoga Alliance continuing education; they are not a teaching qualification in themselves.

Tracking your practice

Members can add classes to a personal library and calendar, build playlists, set and reach goals, and design a daily routine. The home page says members can track their daily routine and collect certificates for the courses and challenges they complete, and that an Apple Health integration "lets you track how your practice improves your health and well being." The FAQ ties the membership to a wider mission as well: it says membership "supports experienced teachers, nurtures innovative programs, and helps bring yoga's healing power to areas like trauma recovery, neuroscience, and whole-person well-being."

Pricing, trial and cancellation

Pricing is published in the FAQ: "Following your complimentary 7-day free trial, your monthly membership is only $19.99 USD per month. Alternatively, save 30% with an annual membership, only $169 USD per year." Both plans include the full library of classes, meditations, articles, courses and challenges, plus certificates for continuing education. The monthly plan carries a 10% discount on select premium trainings. The annual plan raises that to 20%, is pitched as 12 months for the price of 9, and adds a free digital practice journal as a bonus.

The trial terms are spelled out. New members get a free 7-day trial, are not billed if they cancel before it ends, and roll into a paid membership if they do not. Cancellation happens in the My Account section at any time. After canceling, the FAQ says, "we will no longer process any charges and you will continue to have access to Yoga International content until the end of your paid membership (or free trial, if applicable)." That makes it a low-risk product to test: a full week with every class, course and challenge before any charge.

Who it suits

Yoga International suits practitioners who want more than a workout. People curious about philosophy, Ayurveda, chakras or the subtle body will find courses on each, alongside a large class library to practice with. Yoga teachers are an obvious fit, since the courses, challenges and docuseries count toward non-contact Yoga Alliance CEUs and come with completion certificates, all inside a membership at $19.99 a month or $169 a year. The filters and the range of styles, from prenatal and postpartum to Jivamukti and Forrest, help a student who likes to move between teachers and approaches, and offline viewing helps anyone practicing while traveling. Spanish speakers can switch the site language.

A few limits are worth knowing. Everything the site describes is on demand, so a learner who needs a live teacher or a fixed class time to stay accountable has to bring that discipline alone; goals, the calendar and playlists are the tools offered for it. Someone who wants to qualify as a yoga teacher should read the FAQ closely: Yoga International says it does not certify teachers, and only some premium trainings, sold separately, may lead to a certification. A beginner may find the size of the library a lot at first, though the Beginner Yoga section and the level filter narrow it down. For most home practitioners and working teachers, the 7-day trial is enough time to judge whether the catalog fits.
