Class Central started as Dhawal Shah's personal tracking spreadsheet of MOOCs back when Coursera and edX were brand new, and grew into the largest independent directory of online courses, currently pulling in listings from Coursera, edX, Udemy, FutureLearn, and hundreds of smaller providers, with real user reviews on each course rather than just marketing copy.
Its main use is comparison shopping before you commit time or money: search a topic and see every version of that course across every platform, sorted by rating, and it regularly reports on free-to-audit windows and course closures that individual platforms don't always announce clearly. It fits someone who already knows roughly what they want to learn and wants to find the specific best course for it, rather than a platform to learn on directly.
