What it is

QuantInsti is an algorithmic trading education company. Its homepage says it was founded by partners of iRage and calls itself a sister concern of iRage, which it describes as one of Asia's leading algorithmic trading proprietary desks (and, in another line on the same page, India's leading one). The company says it has over 14 years in the industry and presents itself as a pioneer in algorithmic trading education.

Its main product for learners is EPAT, the Executive Programme in Algorithmic Trading, a live online program for working professionals. Around it sit Quantra, a Python-based interactive learning platform with its own course catalog, and Blueshift, a research, backtesting and trading platform. QuantInsti also sells edtech and fintech solutions to brokers and institutional clients, who use them to offer learning and trading applications to their own customers. The footer's business section lists integrated learning solutions, a trading marketplace and a "Hire from Us" service for employers.

For a learner, the practical choice is between the structured EPAT program, with live lectures, faculty and placement support, and the shorter self-directed courses on Quantra. Both teach systematic trading, and both lean on Python, data and backtesting rather than trading by feel.

EPAT, the flagship program

The homepage describes EPAT as a 6-month course with weekend-only lectures, aimed at traders, engineers and financial market aspirants. It lists 120+ hours of online live lectures and 150+ hours of recorded material. The page names three goals the course serves: building a foundation for people who want to establish their own trading desk, improving existing trading strategies, and securing positions within leading financial institutions. QuantInsti calls EPAT "the world's first verified certification in algorithmic trading." That is the company's own description, and the homepage does not explain what the verification involves.

Teaching comes from what the site counts as 20+ world-class faculty, described as "faculty experts and biggest names in Algorithmic Trading," and a faculty list is linked from the homepage. Participants have come from 90+ countries, according to the same page. The EPAT menu links to a curriculum page, a fee page, personalized support, alumni pages and FAQs, and the admissions menu adds a scholarship application.

Under "Accreditations & Recognitions," the homepage names Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and links to a details page. A learner who needs CPD hours recognized by a particular professional body should read that page before enrolling, since the homepage itself names no body.

Two testimonials give a sense of the format from the inside. Marcus Coleman, listed as Vice President | Applied AI/Machine Learning Lead at JP Morgan, writes: "EPAT is a highly structured, hands-on learning experience and it's being updated frequently. The faculty and staff are extremely competent and available to address any concerns you may have." Jonathan Mathews, Chief Investment Officer at Clim8 in the United States, writes: "These six months (of EPAT) really opened my eyes to all the different kind of paths you can take within systematic trading."

Admissions, demos and the aptitude test

Before enrolling, prospective students can take the Algo-Trader Aptitude Test, which the homepage frames as 10 minutes and 10 questions drawn from statistics, financial markets, options and programming. It reads as a self-check rather than an entry exam, a quick way to see whether the mix of math, markets and code suits you.

The site also offers a personalized EPAT demo, described as "a free step-by-step walkthrough of EPAT" followed by a discussion about the outcomes. A brochure is available for download, a call can be booked from the homepage, and the top banner advertises a free live EPAT walkthrough and Q&A session.

Enquiry forms ask for a phone number and offer updates over WhatsApp. One form asks about your main goal (more consistent and systematic trading, a job in quant finance, building automated strategies with your coding skills, or starting or growing your own fund), how you trade today, how comfortable you are with code, and how much work experience you have. The answer options run from "I have no coding experience at all" to writing code daily, and from student or fresher to senior professional, which gives a fair picture of the range of people the program expects.

Placement support

Placement is a large part of the EPAT pitch. The homepage cites 300+ hiring partners across 20+ countries and promises lifelong placement support, during and after the course. Placement reviews are linked, and the "Quant Jobs" menu and the employer-facing "Hire from Us" service show the company works both sides of the hiring process.

A testimonial from Parth Shah, Financial Strategy Analyst at Citi-US, India, describes the placement team in practical terms: "They go out of their way to suggest and apply for companies, help in profile building. A complete solution for placement is provided." The homepage also states that a recent placement "resulted in a salary of over Rs. 50+ lakhs in India." That is one placement the company chose to highlight, not an average, and the site publishes no aggregate placement rate.

Quantra: self-paced courses

Quantra by QuantInsti is a Python-based interactive learning platform. The homepage says it lets traders learn new strategies, backtest them and paper or live trade on them all in one place. The strategy paradigms it covers run from fundamental, technical and quantitative methods to deep-learning and ML-based strategies. The headline figures on the homepage are 60+ courses and learning tracks, 190+ countries reached, a 4.5/5 average rating, and 58% of users making multiple purchases.

Quantra suits a learner who wants one strategy family at a time, a single machine learning or options topic for instance, rather than a six-month commitment. The footer links to Quantra free courses, so it is possible to try the format before paying. The homepage also points brokers and institutions to the way they use Quantra for client retention, which is the business side of the same platform.

Blueshift: research and trading platform

Blueshift is QuantInsti's research, backtesting and trading platform. The homepage describes it as a comprehensive Complex Event Processing (CEP) engine and claims it is the only publicly available CEP engine in India. Its listed features are support for multiple markets and assets, the freedom to create any strategy, accurate and advanced backtesting, cloud hosting available anywhere and at any time, and paper and live trading. The page says ICICI Securities, which it describes as one of India's top broking firms with 5M+ clients, has adopted Blueshift for its clients, and a "Blueshift for Business" link sits beside the individual offer.

For an EPAT or Quantra student, Blueshift is where the ideas from a course get tested on historical data and then run in paper or live mode.

Free resources and events

QuantInsti gives away a fair amount before asking for money. The free ebook, "Algorithmic Trading: A Rough & Ready Guide," shows 40,000+ downloads on the homepage. It covers an introduction to algorithmic trading, history and terminology, the pros and cons of automated trading, and how to create a trading system, and the page notes that no programming knowledge is required. The footer adds trading books, webinars and blogs, and the articles menu covers AI in trading, quant finance, HFT trading, and quant trader and quant developer careers.

The company also runs the Algo Trading Conference 2026, billed as its 16th anniversary event and free to attend. The program listed a hands-on workshop on agentic AI in trading, a fireside chat on what sits inside a real high-frequency trading setup, and a panel on how AI is shaping careers in financial markets, each ending with live Q&A.

Pricing

The homepage publishes no prices for EPAT, Quantra or Blueshift. The EPAT menu has a separate fees page and a scholarship application, and the main calls to action are "Inquire for EPAT," "Schedule a Call" and the brochure download.

Reviews and track record

The homepage shows 11,000+ QuantInsti reviews and links to a full page of EPAT reviews. Rachel Tan, Director at Achievers Crest Pvt. Ltd., Singapore, writes that the program is "Suitable for working professionals who would like to pursue algorithmic trading as a full-time or secondary income" and adds, "They are flexible to cater to the demands of busy executives too." The quoted reviewers work at banks, investment firms and their own companies, which matches the audience the program targets.

Who it suits

EPAT fits a working professional who wants a structured route into systematic and quantitative trading and can give six months of weekends to it: an engineer moving into finance, a discretionary trader who wants to automate, an analyst aiming for a quant role, or someone planning their own desk. The live lectures, recorded material, faculty access and placement team make it a serious commitment rather than a casual course. Quantra suits the learner who wants one topic at a time in a Python environment, and its free courses make a low-risk start. The free ebook and the aptitude test are sensible first steps for anyone still deciding.

The main caveat is cost transparency: fees sit on a separate page and behind an enquiry, so you will need to talk to the company before you can budget. The whole offer is also built around code and data, from the Python-based Quantra platform to the programming questions in the aptitude test, so a learner who wants to trade by hand without touching code will find the emphasis elsewhere.
