What Bullish Bears is
Bullish Bears is an online trading education service and community. Lucien Bechard founded it in 2016, and he still teaches day trading, swing trading, options, futures, price action and technical analysis. The site describes the company as "an educational trading service and community focused on teaching you how to become an independent trader," and the offer has two halves: courses, from free beginner material to advanced strategy, and trading services, meaning a live trade room, a Discord community, daily live streams, watchlists and scanners. It counts 132,000+ traders educated since 2016, 1,500+ members in its trading Discord, 95,000+ YouTube subscribers and a 4.6/5 average member rating, with a link to its Trustpilot reviews. The company's address is in Sarasota, Florida.
How the courses are structured
The courses follow a three-step idea the site calls "Learn. Build. Master." Its advice is blunt: "Pick one trading strategy, learn it, practice it, and build from there."
Free courses. Five beginner courses are free to join, with no credit card required. Stock Market Basics covers how the market works, basic charts, order types and risk. Day Trading Basics adds price action, chart patterns, scanners and indicators. Swing Trading Basics covers trends, patterns and planning a swing trade. Options Trading Basics explains calls, puts, strike prices, expiration and options risk. Futures Trading Basics covers contracts, symbols, ticks, trading hours, margin and risk management.
Intermediate courses. Five paid courses build a strategy. The Day Trading Course teaches momentum strategies, scanners and execution. The Swing Trading Course covers trends, pullbacks and dip buying. The Options Trading Course covers option chains, volatility and the Greeks. The Futures Trading Course covers E-mini and micro futures, chart setup and order flow. The Price Action Trading Course covers candlestick patterns, support and resistance, market structure, entries, exits and stops.
Advanced courses. These go deeper into price action, futures, options and day trading "through real market examples and strategy breakdowns," and come only with the Next Level plans.
The site also runs a free resources section: trading guides, a free candlesticks eBook, a trading terms glossary, stock sector pages, and reviews of trading tools, online brokers and books. Recent blog articles cover building a pre-trade checklist, doing a post-trade review, accepting uncertainty and developing a psychological edge.
Trading services and community
The trading services are what most paying members join for. The live trade room is where members "share charts, trade ideas, and get live group mentoring and training," with real-time market analysis, chart reviews and trade setups while the market is open; the community page lists live market analysis Monday to Friday. Discord is "the central hub of our trading community," where members talk by chat or voice. Watchlists and alerts show "what we see," with the stated aim that members "begin to spot trade setups yourself." The promotional page adds daily live streams and replays, scanners and tools, daily recaps, and Tradytics Discord AI bots, which it lists at a $69/mo value.
The teaching philosophy is consistent across the pages: build your own process rather than follow calls. A "What We Don't Promise" list rules out guaranteed profits, shortcuts that replace study and practice, and "Someone else doing the work for you or making your trading decisions for you." The FAQ's self-teaching steps end with practicing in a paper trading account, scaling up slowly with real money and sticking to a trading plan.
Plans and prices
The courses page and the community page show the same four options:
- Free. Free beginner trading courses, with no intermediate courses, trading services or community access.
- Foundation, $297 annually. 1-year access to the intermediate courses. Courses only, "with no trading services or community access."
- Next Level, $497 one-time (shown as "Was $597"). 1 year of intermediate and advanced courses plus 30 days of trading services and community, including the trade room, Discord, live streams, watchlists and scanners. It is marked Most Popular.
- Next Level Premium, $797 one-time (shown as "Was $997"). Lifetime intermediate and advanced courses plus 1 year of trading services and community.
A separate promotional page frames the offer differently. There, a plan called Next Level Premium costs "$497 one-time" with "Lifetime access to trade room" and no monthly recurring fees, set against a Next Level Pro at $997 one-time that includes a "Limited 1-year access to trade room" and "Auto-renews at $67 per month after 1 year." The page calls this a "LAST CHANCE TO LOCK IN" grandfathered lifetime access before a price increase. Because the two sets of terms differ, a buyer should check which offer the checkout applies before paying.
What members say
The testimonials are mostly about the community. Sean R. writes: "Bullish Bears is a great and welcoming community. Unlike many copy paste social media trade gurus, the emphasis is on becoming a self-reliant trader." John F. writes: "I have been an active member about 18 months. The moderators are transparent and good teachers. The members are mature people, which is so refreshing." Bert H. singles out the trade room: "Their live training, where you listen and watch their active trading, is very beneficial." The promotional page adds profit stories, such as a member who says they "more than doubled my gains" in three weeks, and the site's own disclaimer says testimonials "may not be representative of other clients or customers."
Who it suits
Bullish Bears suits retail traders who want to learn one style properly and then practice it with others watching. The free courses are a real starting point for someone deciding between day trading, swing trading, options or futures. The Foundation plan suits a self-directed learner who only wants the intermediate courses. The Next Level plans suit traders who want the trade room and Discord, where most of the hands-on learning happens. The FAQ is realistic about time: "Trading can take 6 months to a year to learn and feel comfortable, but these results are unique."
It suits less well anyone looking for trade signals to copy, since the site says plainly that it does not make decisions for members, and anyone who cannot be online during market hours, since the trade room and live analysis run while the market is open. The disclaimer is worth reading too: "We're not licensed brokers or advisors," and "Trading contains substantial risk and is not for every investor." Support runs by email at bbteam@bullishbears.com, and the team says it replies within 24 hours.
