Accredited Finance Courses

Accredited Finance Courses is an online training provider for people working in, or moving into, finance, investment and compliance roles. The site brands itself Accredited Finance Courses UK, and its courses lean toward the UK market, with titles such as UK Compliance & Conduct Standards Certification and The Fundamentals of UK Investments, Risk & Taxation. Its About page describes the company as "a proud member of The CPD Certification Service" offering "flexible, online courses developed by experienced trainers and finance industry experts." The model is simple: buy a course, study the modules at your own pace, then sit a remotely invigilated final exam to earn a certificate.
The courses and their prices
The courses page lists two price tiers plus one outlier.
At £1,499 each sit five longer programs, each with its own acronym:
- Wealth Management Certificate (WMC)
- Accounting Principles & Compliance in Practice (APCP)
- Diploma in Investment Foundations, ESG & Regulation (DIFER)
- Foundations of Financial Planning & Client Advice (FFPCA)
- Foundations of Financial Oversight and Compliance (FFOC)
At £449 each sit seven shorter courses, and each one states its CPD hours:
- UK Compliance & Conduct Standards Certification, 160 CPD hours
- The Fundamentals of UK Investments, Risk & Taxation, 210 CPD hours
- Navigating ESG Investments: Strategies for Sustainable Success, 61 CPD hours
- Introduction to Financial Derivatives & Market Tools, 187 CPD hours
- Foundations of Securities & Investment Markets, 59 CPD hours
- Financial Planning & Advice, 85 CPD hours
- Diploma in Financial Accounting for Business, 33 CPD hours
The outlier is Anti Money Laundering (AML), priced at £1,100 with 40 CPD hours. The price-to-hours relationship is not linear: the £449 courses range from 33 to 210 stated hours, so a learner who is buying for CPD credit gets very different value from one course to the next. The home page sums up the catalog as 10+ professional courses and says the range runs from beginner basics to advanced expertise.
How studying works
Study is fully online and self-paced. The CPD page describes the programs as "100% online and flexible" and lays out four steps: create a student account, choose a course, "Complete the modules at your own pace," then "Pass the final exam and download your accredited certificate." The About page frames the same route as completing the course, sitting the final exam and earning a certificate, and the exam page says learners should finish "your course study and all your practice quizzes" before booking.
Access does not expire. The home page promises "unlimited access to your course materials, even after completion," and the CPD page adds that lifetime access lets a learner revisit materials at any time to refresh their knowledge or update their compliance record. For someone who has to show annual CPD activity, that is a practical feature rather than a perk.
The final exam
The exam has its own page and its own price. The listed fees are £160 for a first attempt (£120 with early payment, a saving of £40) and £50 for a retake. Exams run remotely: "Take your Final Exam from Anywhere at Anytime."
Invigilation is handled by software and people together. The site says "Online invigilation, supported by both humans and AI" checks the candidate in three ways: facial recognition matches the test-taker against a pre-registered image, ID verification cross-checks identity documents against that facial data, and a webcam room scan confirms the space is free of unauthorized materials or people. During the exam, AI flags suspicious activity "such as unusual eye movements or background noise," and human proctors review the flagged moments.
The technical and room requirements are strict. The exam runs in Safari, Firefox or Chrome on a device with a working webcam and microphone and a stable connection. The room must have good lighting and privacy, a clear workspace, no electronic devices, no dual screens or external monitors, and no hand held calculators. Technical problems go to live chat support. Results do not appear at the end of the exam; candidates are notified later by email. A fail for suspected malpractice means retaking the exam.
CPD and the accreditation claims
CPD is the center of the pitch. The CPD page calls it more than a formality in finance, a professional obligation, and says most financial professionals must complete a minimum number of CPD hours a year, especially those in FCA-regulated roles or members of professional bodies. It then lists the bodies' expectations as it reports them: CFA Institute, 20 recommended hours per year; CISI, 35 hours annually with 10 structured; ACCA, 40 CPD units across core competencies; CIMA, ongoing CPD based on role. The site says its courses help learners meet their annual CPD hour requirements while gaining practical, job-ready skills.
On credentials, the site describes its training and certificates as accredited, calls its qualifications "industry-recognised," and says it is "committed to providing accredited qualifications that are valued by employers and institutions." The named affiliation is membership of The CPD Certification Service. Anyone with a certificate can check it on the site's verification page by entering the certificate ID.
Scale and support
The home page claims 248K worldwide students and 20+ years of experience; the About page shows a slightly different figure, 235k+ worldwide students. The site also promotes itself as "Recognised and Respected Worldwide." Contact runs through an email address, info@accreditedfinancecourses.co.uk, and two phone numbers listed in the footer, plus the live chat for exam issues.
The testimonials on the About page come from a Junior Accountant (Mason), a Finance Analyst (Henry) and a Business Owner (Thomas). Mason writes that the course "helped me bridge the gap between theory and practice" and that "the lifetime access means I can keep refreshing my knowledge whenever I need." Henry's entry is unusually cautious for a testimonial: "learners should review accreditation details and employer recognition before enrolling to ensure long-term value."
Who it suits
Accredited Finance Courses suits finance and compliance professionals who need to log CPD hours each year and want self-paced online study with a certificate at the end. The £449 courses with large stated hour counts, such as the investments, risk and taxation course at 210 hours, are the most direct fit for that need. People starting out in UK financial services, or moving toward compliance, wealth management or financial planning, can use the £1,499 programs as a broader foundation. The lifetime access suits anyone who expects to come back to the material.
The caveats are about cost and fit. The exam fees are listed on their own page, separately from the course prices, so the budget for a certificate should cover the exam too: £120 to £160 for a first attempt and £50 for each retake. The remote invigilation asks for a private room, webcam checks and a clean desk, which some candidates will find intrusive. And as the company's own testimonial from Henry suggests, a learner relying on the certificate for a specific employer or professional body should confirm that it will be accepted before buying.
