What it is

7taps is a microlearning platform for workplace training teams: an authoring tool for short, card-based courses that also hosts them, delivers them and tracks who finished. Its buyers are L&D departments, trainers and training agencies who need to reach employees, partners or customers quickly, often people who never log into a corporate LMS. Learners do not download an app or create an account. They open a course from a link, a QR code, an email, a Slack or Teams message, a text or WhatsApp, on a phone, tablet or desktop, and the cards adjust to the screen. The FAQ answers the question of whether 7taps is an LMS with a qualified yes: it covers creation, hosting, content delivery, learner management and analytics, but is built around microlearning, and it says enterprise companies use it to extend existing learning tools while small and medium-sized businesses use it on its own. The company, 7taps OpCo LLC, gives an address in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Building courses

Courses are made of interactive cards. The plan comparison lists quiz capabilities, reflection and feedback cards, branching scenarios, role plays, submissions, and poll, rate and checklist cards, along with learning paths that chain courses together and spaced learning that schedules lessons over time. A creator can build from scratch or use two AI tools. The Microlearning Copilot asks a few strategic questions and generates a complete, scenario-based learning campaign, and the home page claims it cuts development time by 87%. The Microlearning Transformer, the content converter, turns PowerPoints, PDFs, videos and other existing material into microlearning. On data handling the home page says there is no AI training on customer data and that files are deleted after processing.

Media options include Unsplash images, GIPHY gifs and Shutterstock images, uploaded graphics, video and audio, automatic subtitles, and the ability to turn a typed script into video, podcasts and scenario-based lessons with AI video generation and avatars. Translation and localization cover 100+ languages, with region-specific accents. For teams, a Team Space, an SME review workflow and in-app comments support co-creating courses and collecting stakeholder approvals.

Delivering and tracking

Delivery is where 7taps differs most from a classic course builder. Depending on the plan, a course can go out as a link or QR code, by email, in an iFrame, through Slack and Microsoft Teams, by SMS or WhatsApp, in kiosk mode, or into an LMS through Dynamic SCORM. Smart engagement sends reminders by email or SMS to lift completion. Analytics run from basic course analytics on Starter to advanced analytics and reporting on Enterprise, and the home page says statistics can be sent to an LMS or kept in 7taps. Exports cover SCORM, xAPI and PDF. On the integration side, the home page lists HRMS sync for automated enrollment, which it says works with 45 platforms, SAML-based single sign-on, and connection to existing LMSs through multiple standards. HiBob is named as a technology partner that syncs employee data with 7taps.

The security section states that 7taps is GDPR compliant, holds ISO 27001, is SOC 2 Type 2 certified, and encrypts end to end with AES-256 and TLS 1.2+.

Plans and prices

The pricing page publishes three plans. Free is $0 forever and includes the training builder, the AI training designer, the content converter and sharing by passwordless link or QR code, with one creator seat, unlimited courses created and 2 courses shared. Starter costs $4,995 per year, sold through sales, and adds advanced learning design tools, basic analytics, extended sharing by email, iFrame, Slack and Teams, unlimited shared courses and live chat support. Enterprise is quoted on request and adds multiple creator seats, advanced analytics, single sign-on, HRMS integration, enterprise branding, SMS, WhatsApp, kiosk and LMS delivery, SCORM, PDF and xAPI export, implementation assistance and priority human support. Smaller limits show up across the table too: the Free plan allows 3 designer fonts, up to 10 custom graphics and 3 video uploads.

Every new account automatically gets a free trial with no credit card, during which the FAQ says users can try all the functionality of the Enterprise plan, and 7taps offers a free personal microlearning tour for the team. The cancellation terms are spelled out: a customer who has paid for a first month and downgrades to Free keeps the ability to share one course of their choice, with the rest kept in the dashboard but unshared, while one who cancels the first month and asks for a refund has the account deactivated and loses access to every course created.

Support, according to the FAQ, runs through a product chat staffed by real people who respond within minutes. Enterprise customers also get implementation assistance and priority human support.

Results the company reports

7taps backs its pitch with customer numbers, all from its own pages. The home page says it is trusted by 15,000 L&D teams, cites 84% higher knowledge retention and a 42% boost in skill application, and reports that 81% of customers saw improved team performance within 3 months. The partner page tells several stories. Wave Utilities moved compliance training to 7taps, saw completion rise from 48% to 98% and onboarding fall from 3-4 weeks to 3 hours, and saved over £100,000. WKS, the L&D team behind Wendy's, Krispy Kreme and Denny's, raised 90-day employee retention from 67% to 78%. COOP first used 7taps to push sales of one product in its hardware stores, saw sales triple in a month, and now runs training for all divisions on it, with 743,000+ course views. ACS Group, whose manufacturing workforce has no corporate email, used QR codes for three OSHA safety trainings and reached 93% completion in the first month. Intuit's Learning Innovation team redesigned 487 courses and saved $572,000, according to the same page. Pliancy's case study describes onboarding courses delivered to new hires every 2-3 working days through a learning path, shared on Slack or embedded in its LMS.

A partner program lets training agencies, consultants and regional resellers deliver 7taps to clients, with listed partners including an exclusive reseller in the Netherlands.

Who it suits and who it does not

7taps fits L&D teams whose learners are hard to reach through an LMS: frontline staff without corporate email, store and site workers who can scan a QR code, sales reps on the road, or new hires who need onboarding in small daily pieces. It works as an authoring layer for organizations that already run an LMS, thanks to SCORM and xAPI export, and as a standalone system for smaller companies. The Free plan is enough to test the format with two shared courses, and Starter suits a team launching its first real program.

The limits come with the format. Courses are built from short cards, so long video lectures and deep technical curricula are not what the tool is for. The jump from Free to a $4,995 annual Starter plan is steep for a single trainer, and the features many larger organizations need, including SSO, HRMS sync, SCORM export and SMS or WhatsApp delivery, sit in the Enterprise plan, whose price is only available as a quote.
