Section launched in 2021 as Section4, raising $30 million on the pitch of elite business-school-caliber teaching at a fraction of an MBA's price, and dropped the "4" in 2023 once the original reference felt dated. Courses run live and cohort-based in areas like strategy, AI, and leadership, taught by Galloway and a roster of other academics and practitioners, with certificates aimed at professionals rather than degree-seekers.

Unlike Maven or Disco, Section is a single school with its own curriculum rather than a platform other instructors host courses on, closer in spirit to Reforge than to a marketplace. It fits a mid-career manager who wants a structured, cohort-paced course on a specific business skill without committing to a full graduate program, and who's comfortable that the syllabus is Section's own rather than one assembled from independent instructors.
