Test Academy is a tutoring center in Parramatta, Sydney, with an online practice platform for children preparing for the NSW Selective High School Placement Test, the Opportunity Class (OC) test and NAPLAN. It also teaches general primary school math, English, writing and thinking skills from Year 1 to Year 6, in person at Parramatta or fully online. The site's footer names NOBL3 Pty Ltd as the company, with a copyright line from 2021. The homepage reports students enrolled since 2019, more than 3,000 online students since 2021, more than 45,000 tests taken on the platform since 2025, a 5.0 Google rating, and an average score improvement of 31% in a student's first term, which it also describes as 20 to 30% within the first term.

Why the company started

The About story is blunt about what the founders disliked in Sydney's big tutoring centers: children crammed into dull rooms, teachers reading off slides, homework returned weeks later or not at all, and families paying a lot without measurable progress. Test Academy's answer was classes capped at 8 students, an in-house testing, learning and analytics platform with feedback built in, and tutors who know each child's name, strengths and gaps. The company says its tutors are 98+ ATAR selective school graduates with years of teaching experience, rigorously selected and trained, and it promises parents weekly performance data on what improved, what did not and what to work on next.

Classes

Every class is capped at 8 students and costs $35 an hour, except FlexiClass, which starts from $30 an hour. The lineup, with the session lengths the homepage gives:

  • Selective Mastery Class for Years 5 and 6, online or in person, 3.5-hour sessions with two realistic mock tests each week followed by an expert breakdown across math, English, writing and thinking skills.
  • OC Mastery Class for Years 3 and 4, online or in person, with the same two-mocks-a-week format across math, English and thinking skills in 3.5-hour sessions.
  • Selective Holiday Crash Course, in person, 7 intensive days of 3.5-hour sessions revising every skill and question type in every section of the Selective test.
  • Selective Mastery Holiday Class, in person, a 3-day intensive of 6.5-hour sessions with four mock tests each session (listed as full).
  • Advanced Concepts Class for Years 3 to 5, online or in person, 3-hour sessions building the foundations for primary school and the OC and Selective tests.
  • FlexiClass for Years 1 to 6, in person, flexible math, English, writing and thinking skills tutoring in sessions of 1.5 to 3 hours.
  • High School Maths Mastery for students in Years 6 and 7 after the Selective test, online or in person, 2-hour classes that take them through Year 7 mathematics early.

Families can book a free trial class, and enrollment takes under 10 minutes online. The company also runs the Australian Computerised Selective Trial, which it calls Sydney's most realistic mock selective event.

The online platform

The practice side is sold as test bundles, and the bundles page lists three pathways. The Selective bundle is built for the May 2027 sitting, covers all 4 sections (Reading, Mathematical Reasoning, Thinking Skills and Writing), holds 200 tests in the Complete bundle and starts from $269. The OC bundle, also for May 2027, covers 3 sections, holds 150 tests in the Complete bundle and starts from $259, with a WritingHub bonus as a head start on Selective writing. NAPLAN bundles for Year 3 and Year 5 cover Reading, Numeracy, Language Conventions and Writing and start from $74. A free trial gives 6 tests with no credit card.

Every bundle includes a personalized study schedule built from the child's recent attempts, weak areas and the time left before test day, which updates as new results come in. Parents get a short plain-English summary each Monday on what improved and what to focus on. Every score is ranked as a percentile against other NSW students preparing for the same test, every question has a step-by-step explanation, and a student forum lets children ask questions of the Test Academy team and each other. The company stresses that every question, explanation and rubric is written by the team that runs its Parramatta classrooms.

Four tools sit inside the platform. Testy Coach is an AI coach that chats one-to-one, explains methods step by step and sets targeted practice in reading, mathematical reasoning, thinking skills, vocabulary and writing, plus mental math drills. LearningHub drills each question type that appears in the test, such as inference, lateral reasoning and geometric reasoning, and brings weak skills back until they are mastered. The mock tests copy the on-screen digital format of the real Selective and OC tests and the NAPLAN domain split, and were refreshed after the 2026 sittings; the FAQ adds that they already include the new "inline-cloze" Reading question type announced in late 2025. WritingHub returns criterion-by-criterion writing feedback within minutes, with targeted exercises to follow.

What families say

Google reviews fill much of the homepage. Parents praise the explanations and the difficulty of the questions, and one reviewer says the handwritten math solutions let a son learn on his own. One parent describes a daughter who went from fewer than 10 correct answers to nearly 100% within 1.5 months. Another, whose son took the OC Mastery course, describes 12 weeks of weekend mock tests with detailed feedback from his teacher, a portal that had 50 tests to start with, and a leaderboard with XP points that kept him motivated. Several reviews report offers from selective schools and OC classes, and many mention the two tutors, Arya and Aryan, by name.

Practical details

The classroom is at Suite 107, 18-20 Ross Street, Parramatta, and families can call or use the contact page and help center, which covers enrollment, billing and the platform. The site links to a refund policy, a child safety and conduct policy, a discount for disadvantaged students and an inquiry form for schools and businesses. The blog covers OC and Selective results, key dates and school rankings, and the site offers a weighted percentile calculator for working out which schools a score could reach.

Who it suits

Test Academy suits NSW families whose child is sitting the OC or Selective test and who want either small in-person classes in Parramatta or a practice platform that behaves like the real computer-based exam. The published prices make it easy to plan: a NAPLAN bundle from $74, OC and Selective bundles from $259 and $269, and classes at $35 an hour, or from $30 for FlexiClass. The weekly summaries, percentile rankings and fast writing feedback give parents a clear view of progress.

Its focus is narrow. The practice bundles are built around the NSW tests and NAPLAN, so families in other states or aiming at other scholarship exams will find less here, and the in-person classes are only in Parramatta.
