OzTests is an Australian online practice test platform for school-age entrance and assessment exams. It is a learner product, used by students (and the parents who buy for them) preparing for selective high school entry in New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland, the NSW Opportunity Class placement test, scholarship and gifted and talented exams, and NAPLAN in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9. Students buy practice packs, sit timed tests online, and review detailed reports afterward. The site gives an Australian Business Number in its footer and describes itself as "OzTests Practice Tests."
The company's pitch rests on a shift in how these exams are delivered. "Australia is rapidly shifting to computer-based testing (CBT)," the home page says, "with NAPLAN now fully online and NSW Selective and Opportunity Class exams moving to digital formats from 2025." OzTests offers simulated online platforms for the new NSW Selective and OC tests and for NAPLAN, so students can practice in a format close to the one they will meet.
How the practice tests work
The full-length tests copy each exam's structure. The site says they have "a question distribution and number of questions identical to the actual exam, and adhere to the same time limit." It is also upfront that "our tests don't use real exam questions"; instead they are built to match the official papers in format and timing. During a test, students can skip, revisit and change answers while time remains, and they can mark questions for review, which the site presents as practice in managing time.
When a test ends, the student gets a report with the score, a category breakdown and a ranking, and a summary goes to the registered email address. Every question comes with a solution and explanation. Reports also show how long the student spent on the whole test and on each question, so a child who runs out of time can see where the minutes went. Tests can be retaken an unlimited number of times, and every past attempt stays in the student dashboard for review.
Alongside the timed tests, OzTests offers topic-wise Mini-Tests and Revision Notes. These have no time limit and are meant for working on one weak area at a time. The question pool is described as "ever-growing and consistently updated," refreshed to follow the latest question trends.
What each pack covers
The home page lists the contents of each exam pack:

The pack includes Revision Plus and a free upgrade to new tests and resources.
- NSW Opportunity Class (Year 5 entry). 108 full-length tests, 123 topic-wise mini tests and 4500+ questions, on a simulated version of the new OC online test.

- NAPLAN. Year 3 has 80 full-length tests (20 each of Reading, Numeracy, Language Conventions and Writing Tasks), 66 mini tests and 3200+ questions. Year 5 lists 100 mini tests and 4000+ questions, Year 7 lists 72 mini tests and 2500+ questions, and Year 9 has its own practice tests.
Free resources
OzTests gives away a sample of each main pack, and the free packs are generous for a first look. The NSW Selective and Opportunity Class free packs each contain one Mathematical Reasoning, one Reading and one Thinking Skills test, and the Victoria free pack contains one test in each of its four ACER sections; each is marked "FREE | Validity One Week." Free tests are also offered for the AAS, ACER HAST and Edutest styles.
The free pages also collect official material. The NSW Selective page links the questions and answers from the Selective High School Placement Test of 2021, 2022 and 2023, including the writing papers, plus the official sample tests in Thinking Skills, Mathematical Reasoning, Reading and Writing. The OC page does the same for the Opportunity Class Placement Test of 2021 to 2023, crediting the NSW Department of Education as the source. The Victoria page links official sample questions for each section from the state's education department, and the NAPLAN Year 3 page lists past papers from 2008 to 2016 in Numeracy, Language Conventions and Reading, with writing prompts for most years. It also shows the 2026 NAPLAN test window, 11th to 23rd March.
Pricing and support
The practice packs are sold through a Practice Packs page, and pack prices do not appear on these pages. A site-wide banner advertises 20% off MEGA packs with a coupon code as a limited-time offer. Support is by email at info@oztests.com.au (the site suggests email for attachments), Facebook Messenger for text chat, and WhatsApp, and there is a Help and FAQ section and a blog.
Who it suits
OzTests suits Australian families preparing a child for a selective school, Opportunity Class, scholarship or NAPLAN test who want a large bank of timed, exam-format practice at home. The volume is the main draw: 144 full-length NSW Selective tests and 6000+ questions mean a student is unlikely to run out before test day. The explanations, time-per-question reports and unlimited retakes turn each test into a lesson rather than just a score, and the untimed mini-tests let a child work on one weak area. The free one-week packs and the official past papers make it easy to judge the format before buying.
It is a practice platform rather than a tutoring service, so a student who needs a concept taught from scratch will rely on the explanations and revision notes rather than a live teacher.
