Tap a star to rate

upGrad KnowledgeHut is a technology and professional certification training provider owned by upGrad, which the FAQ describes as its parent company. It prepares working professionals for industry certifications such as Certified ScrumMaster, PMP, Leading SAFe, ITIL 4 and the AWS and Microsoft Azure exams, and it runs longer bootcamps and "Master's" programs in software development, data science, cloud and cybersecurity. Most learners are individuals choosing a certification course, but the site also sells corporate training and group discounts to companies. The FAQ says KnowledgeHut was founded in 2011 and has trained over 450,000 professionals and 4,500+ enterprises across 100+ countries.

Certification courses

Certification prep is the core of the catalog. Course cards on the courses page show the hours and enrollment count of each program:

  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM): 16 hours, 144,689 enrolled.
  • PMP Certification: 35 hours, 135,183 enrolled.
  • CSPO Certification: 16 hours, 120,004 enrolled.
  • Leading SAFe 6.0 Certification: 16 hours, 41,522 enrolled.
  • Implementing SAFe 6.0 with SPC Certification: 32 hours, 34,807 enrolled.
  • ITIL Foundation (Version 5): 16 hours, 1,200 enrolled.

The FAQ's list of popular certifications runs much further. Agile covers PSM I and PSM-A, SAFe 6.0 SSM, POPM, RTE and LPM, and the ICAgile Agile Coach certification (ICP-ACC). Project management adds PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner. Cloud includes AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Cloud Practitioner, Developer and DevOps Engineer, and Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, Administrator, Solutions Architect and Data Engineer. DevOps covers DevOps Foundation, Docker and Kubernetes and the Certified Kubernetes Administrator. Security lists CEH, CISA, CISM and CISSP, and quality management includes Six Sigma Yellow, Green and Black Belts and TÜV SÜD Lean Six Sigma. The FAQ says certification courses typically run 8 to 48 hours. A newer AI track on the home page includes Applied Agentic AI, Gen AI courses for Scrum Masters, project managers, product owners and business analysts, AI Powered Software Development and No-Code AI Agents and Automation.

The training relationships behind these courses are spelled out in the site's footer. upGrad Education Private Limited, the legal entity, describes itself as a Premier Authorized Training Partner of PMI, a Licensed Training Partner of Scrum Alliance, a Platinum SPCT Partner of Scaled Agile, an AWS Training Partner, a Microsoft Partner, an Endorsed Education Provider of IIBA, an ATO of PeopleCert, an ICAgile Member Training Organization, a Professional Training Network member of Scrum.org, a Registered Education Partner of the DevOps Institute, an Accredited Examination Centre of IASSC, and an Authorized Training Partner and Accredited Training Center of EC-Council. The FAQ also says certification support includes exam preparation, exam application support and mock tests, and that some courses earn SEUs and PDUs for renewing existing certifications.

How learning works

Courses come in three modes. Live virtual classrooms are instructor-led sessions in weekday or weekend batches. Self-paced courses give access to pre-recorded lectures, study materials and quizzes on a laptop, tablet or phone. Blended learning combines the two. The footer also lists classroom training.

The FAQ describes a fuller platform around the sessions, which upGrad calls immersive learning. A learner starts by diagnosing their skills, then works through short video modules, articles and quizzes, practices in "Playground Labs" and cloud labs, and completes micro-projects and capstone assignments. Assessments run before, during and after a module and include auto-graded real-world scenarios and code-based problems. Progress insights point to strengths and weak spots, and gamification adds daily streaks, points, badges and leaderboards. Social learning forums connect learners, the FAQ promises mentoring from experts that continues after the course, and learners get lifetime access to course materials.

Bootcamps, Master's programs and career support

For career changers, the FAQ lists bootcamps in full-stack development, data science, UI/UX design, software engineering, DevOps, AI engineering, data engineering, data analysis, cloud engineering and cybersecurity, two of them offered "with PMI". It puts their length at 60 to 490+ hours depending on the program and mode. Master's programs cover AWS Cloud Architect, Azure Data Engineer, Cybersecurity, Agile Management, Agile Excellence and Project Management. The FAQ is clear that these lead to "a recognized Master's certificate of completion from upGrad KnowledgeHut", not a university degree. Career services include coaching, mock interviews, resume, GitHub and LinkedIn reviews through a Job Boost 360 program, hackathons, and job support. The home page cites 5000+ hiring partners and a 450,000+ alumni network.

Free courses and tutorials

A free courses page offers self-paced, expert-led courses at "Zero Cost" with "No Registration Fee", hands-on exercises and a certificate on completion. The page shows 144,000+ enrolled and access to 100+ e-learning resources across technology, business and management. Alongside them, free coding tutorials cover Java (27 lessons), Python (33 lessons), Apache Spark (22 lessons), Ionic for Android (10 lessons), AngularJS (9 lessons), Node.js and AWS. The site also publishes practice tests, interview questions, blogs, masterclasses and meetups.

Prices, payment and refunds

The FAQ explains that "Course costs at upGrad KnowledgeHut vary from country to country", and directs learners to a learning advisor or reachus@upgrad.com for current prices and offers. Learners can pay upfront, monthly or, for some programs, after placement, by MasterCard, Visa, American Express or PayPal. Discounts run from time to time, and corporate learners get group discounts. On refunds, the FAQ points to a Cancellation, Refund, and Deferment Policy, and the free courses page states that self-paced courses carry a money-back guarantee: a learner who withdraws "within the first seven days" receives a 100% refund.

The home page rates the platform 4.8/5 from 12,500+ reviews. Support runs through learning advisors, email and phone lines in the USA, India, the UK, Singapore, Malaysia, Canada, New Zealand, Ireland and Australia, plus a toll-free number in the UAE.

For trainers and partners

The become-an-instructor page invites trainers into a Training Partner Program, and the FAQ says its panel numbers 1,250+ trainers and experts. Companies can join as referral partners, earning a commission on customers they pass on, or as reseller partners that add KnowledgeHut courses to their own portfolio with a dedicated account manager and margin levels tied to sales.

Who it suits

upGrad KnowledgeHut suits a professional who needs a specific credential on a deadline: a team lead taking CSM or CSPO, a project manager preparing for the PMP, an agile coach moving through the SAFe track, or an engineer working toward an AWS or Azure certification. Weekend batches and self-paced options fit around a job, and the vendor partnerships matter for courses where an authorized provider is required. Career changers can look at the bootcamps and their career services, and teams can use corporate training with group pricing.

The main caveat is that prices are country-specific and come through an advisor, so comparing costs takes a conversation. The free courses and tutorials are a low-risk way to try the teaching style first.
