What The Knowledge Academy is
The Knowledge Academy is a professional training company that runs certification and skills courses for individuals and organizations. Its UK homepage title promises "3000+ Training Courses", its footer calls it "The largest global training provider", and the company behind it is The Knowledge Academy Ltd. The site has country versions, including Australia and Canada, with local prices and venues.
For readers of this directory it matters in two ways. Individuals use it to prepare for professional certification exams such as PRINCE2, ITIL, PMP, TOGAF, Lean Six Sigma and Scrum, as well as shorter skills courses. Companies use it as a training supplier, buying courses for teams in whatever format suits them, onsite included.
The homepage puts its scale this way: "2,000,000+ delegates", "15,000+ clients" and "490+ locations", with "90,000+" teams developed. A separate line says "We’ve trained 300,000+ companies & over 2,000,000 delegates", so the company figures are not entirely consistent across the page. The course page says classroom training runs in "490+ locations across 190+ countries".
The catalog
The homepage's popular topics are PRINCE2, Agile, ITIL Certification, Lean Six Sigma Certification, Scrum Certification, PMP, TOGAF, ISO 9001, Business Analysis courses and APM. The footer lists popular certification courses that go further: PRINCE2 Agile, Scrum Master, AgilePM, Leading SAFe, APM PMQ, MSP, ITIL 5 Foundation, CISSP, CISA, CISM, GDPR, CCNA, Excel, Power BI, Microsoft Project, data science, data analytics, digital transformation and a ChatGPT course. Popular topic groups include IOSH health and safety, change management, software testing, IIBA, ISO 27001, Microsoft Azure, DevOps, CompTIA and AWS.
The training categories span project management, business analysis, business improvement, IT service management, IT security and data protection, artificial intelligence, office applications, business skills, health and safety, Microsoft technical, programming and DevOps, ILM leadership and management, digital marketing, cloud computing, IT infrastructure and networking, HR, and accounting and finance. App and web development is another area, which is where the example course below comes from.
Accreditation
For certification candidates, the accreditation section is the key part of the homepage. It says: "Leading bodies, including APMG International, BCS, PeopleCert®, CompTIA, and Microsoft, have accredited our courses, materials, and trainers". It names specific cases: "ITIL® Version 5 and PRINCE2® 7, accredited by PeopleCert®, and the PMP® Exam Prep Course, approved by PMI®", and adds that the "TOGAF® Foundation and Practitioner Course is accredited by The Open Group®." Those are the company's own statements, and a candidate for a particular exam should check that the specific course carries the accreditation they need.
Four ways to learn
The company says it is "the only provider to have classroom, online instructor-led, online self-paced and in-house training methods globally", and each format comes with its own promises.
Online instructor-led. You "Join a scheduled class with a live instructor and other delegates". Classes are "Fully interactive": you can "Ask questions, share documents, interact with whiteboards, ask live questions and communicate with your trainer and peers." There are "No travel or accommodation costs", and the company says it uses "the same pool of expert trainers" for these classes as elsewhere. On course pages, hands-on labs are "Included as part of our online instructor-led delivery".
Online self-paced. This format offers "Tutor support 24/7", "Personal performance reports", compatibility with all devices, and "Immediate access for 90 days": "All of our courses come with a standard 90 days access which can be upgraded if need be." Course pages add 24/7 access to resources, regular assessments, and "AI-enabled support" through the company's learning management system.
Classroom. Trainers are described as "highly qualified, having 10+ years of real-world experience", venues are described as high-quality learning facilities, and class sizes are kept small "to promote better discussion".
Onsite. Courses "can be adapted to meet your individual project or business requirements regardless of scope", delivered at the client's premises, online or hybrid, with "group discounts and flexible scheduling". The company pitches it as a way to "focus your entire budget on what really matters, the training" and as a team-building opportunity.
The Mobile App Development page also describes a blended version that "combines live, expert-led sessions and self-paced study" with "weekly one-to-one tutor support", progress tracking tools, and course materials you can revisit.
An example course and its price
The Mobile App Development course shows what a typical listing contains. It is "This intensive 1-day training", covering the app lifecycle from concept to deployment for Android and iOS, with modules on platforms, interface design, cross-platform frameworks, app production, promotion, delivery, localization and App Store Connect, plus Android Studio and writing Java or Kotlin code. The FAQ says the course covers languages "includes but is not limited to Java, Swift, and Kotlin", and there are no formal prerequisites.
What is included: "a 1-day training with our experienced instructors, a digital delegate pack consisting of important notes related to this course, and a certificate after course completion", plus access to the MyTKA Training Portal. The certificate is "a certificate of completion". Support is offered "via phone & email before attending, during, and after the course."
Prices are shown per country. The Australian page states "The training fees for Mobile App Development Course in Australia starts from AUD2995", with classroom venues in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Canberra, Adelaide and Darwin, and the Canadian page gives a starting fee of CAD2795. UK prices are quoted excluding VAT, and the Australian ones excluding GST.
Discounts and business services
The Knowledge Academy runs frequent offers. The site banners advertise savings "Up to 40%", a "20% off PRINCE2® 7th edition" enquiry form, and a "limited number of 250 daily discount" places on the course page. Its price promise is: "If you do find a lower price, we will beat it." Package deals bundle several courses at a discount.
For organizations, the company sells training pass services, KnowledgePass and FlexiPass, which it says "allow you to take full control of your budget", along with a "Dedicated account manager". The booking form asks how many delegates need training, from one to eight or more, and which of the four delivery methods you want.
Who it suits
The Knowledge Academy suits professionals who want a short, accredited course before a mainstream certification exam, especially in project management, IT service management, architecture, security and quality, and who like being able to choose live online, classroom or self-paced study. The 90-day self-paced access and 24/7 tutor support make the online route workable around a job.
It also suits L&D and HR teams that need one supplier for a broad range of courses across countries, with onsite delivery, group pricing and pass schemes for managing a training budget.
It is less suited to learners who want a single low-cost subscription to a large video library, since courses are sold one by one, and to anyone who wants deep, multi-week instruction from a course page that promises one intensive day.
