What Physics Wallah is
Physics Wallah (PW) is an Indian online education platform that prepares students for school board exams and for India's competitive and government exams. It is a product for the LEARNER: a school student from Class 6 to 12, a JEE or NEET aspirant, a graduate preparing for SSC, banking, railway or state civil service exams, a future teacher sitting the CTET, or a commerce student working toward CA. The home page calls PW "Bharat's Trusted & Affordable Educational Platform" and "the most affordable learning solution".
The About page tells the origin story. Alakh Pandey, PW's founder and CEO, started the venture in 2020 with co-founder Prateek Maheshwari, and the page says his leadership turned PW "from a single YouTube channel into a prominent educational platform". The founder's own line on that page is "My aim is to democratize and transform the education landscape in Bharat", and the company's stated focus is affordable education for students across the country. The co-founder's profile describes PW as "India's most profitable Unicorn" and lists acquisitions and partnerships with PrepOnline, iNeuron and Xylem Learning. On scale, the site states that Physics Wallah "caters to over 3.5 million registered students and over 78 lakh+ Youtube subscribers with 4.8 rating on its app", while a banner on the same pages invites you to "Join 15 Million students on the app today!"
What the catalog covers
The home page says PW prepares students for 35+ exam categories. The menu groups them roughly like this:
- School: Class 6 to 12 courses, NCERT solutions, reference books and notes, plus younger learners through a Class 1st to 8th Power Batch.
- Engineering and medical entrance: IIT JEE, NEET, Olympiads, and named batches such as Arjuna for JEE and Lakshya and Yakeen for NEET, with collections of previous-year question papers.
- Government jobs: SSC (CGL, CHSL, GD Constable, MTS, Stenographer, CPO, Selection Post, JE), banking, railway, defense (NDA, CDS, Agniveer, SSB), judiciary, nursing, agriculture, JAIIB and CAIIB, and state exam lines for Bihar, UP, West Bengal and Punjab.
- Civil services: UPSC and state PSC through PW OnlyIAS.
- Higher education entrance: CUET UG and PG, MBA and IPMAT, IIT JAM, GATE, ESE, CSIR NET, NEET PG, design and architecture, and law entrance exams including CLAT, AILET, SLAT, LSAT India and MHCET Law.
- Finance and commerce: CA, CS, ACCA and CFA.
- Beyond exams: PW Skills courses in web development, data science, AI-ML engineering and digital marketing, semester prep for BSc and B.Com, study abroad prep for IELTS and TOEFL, and PW Gulf for students in Oman, the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and other countries.
Each exam page doubles as an information hub. The CA page tracks the 2026-27 exam cycle and ICAI results, the SSC page covers notifications, admit cards and mock tests, and the law page collects exam dates, eligibility and syllabus changes for CLAT 2027.
How learning works
The home page lists the core of the service: daily live interactive classes, 10 Million+ tests, sample papers and notes, 24 x 7 doubt-solving sessions, and 100+ offline centers. The app adds a dashboard for progress tracking and what PW calls "lakhs of practice questions". You can attend live or watch recordings later, and the FAQ on the teaching page says classes are taught in Hinglish, "a mix of Hindi and English", for easy understanding.
The teaching exam page shows what a course looks like in detail. TET online coaching covers CTET, SUPER TET, UP TGT and PGT, BPSC TRE and state TETs with live classes, study material, mock tests and practice sets based on the latest pattern. The CTET classes cover Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I and II, Mathematics and Environmental Studies. Batches are named by exam and session, for example CTET Premium Infinity 2.0 for the September 2026 exam in Paper 1, Paper 2 Math & Science and Paper 2 SST versions, and combo batches that cover both papers. The app gives each student a timetable, notes are written by teachers and researchers, and practice sets mix easy, medium and difficult questions.
Other teaching batches follow the same pattern. BPSC TRE 4.0 courses prepare candidates for Primary, TGT and PGT teacher recruitment in Bihar, with Mahapack batches for General Studies, Social Science and Music. UPTET has premium batches for July 2026 and a Revision+Practice batch, and MP TET Varg 2 batches are split by subject: general paper, Hindi, English, math, science and SST.
There is also a free option for this exam: the Samarth CTET batch, which the page says includes live classes, recorded videos, PDF notes and practice questions covering CTET Paper 1 and Paper 2, and can be joined on the PW app or YouTube.
Offline centers
PW is not online only. The home page describes tech-enabled offline Vidyapeeth and Pathshala centers "available in 175+ cities", naming Kota, Bareilly, Patna, Noida, New Delhi, Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Jaipur among them. That lets a student mix app-based classes with a classroom near home.
Prices
The pages describe fees only in general terms. The teaching page says fees vary by course type, that "subscription programs may cost higher", and that higher tiers add more study material, mock tests and doubt-solving sessions. Batch names such as Premium, Infinity and Mahapack mark those tiers; the pages print no rupee amounts.
Results and support
The home page has a long results section across NEET, JEE Advanced, GATE, board exams, CA, SSC, CLAT, UPSC and more. One student testimonial, from Tathagat Awatar, says he secured All India Rank 1 in NEET UG 2024 after studying with the Lakshya NEET batch in 12th grade and then the Yakeen NEET batch. Support runs through a "Talk to a counsellor" form and phone line, and the About page mentions the PW Foundation's PRERNA Helpline for students' emotional well-being.
Who it suits
Physics Wallah suits Indian students preparing for a high-stakes exam on a tight budget who are comfortable learning in Hinglish, whether that is a school student aiming for JEE, a graduate preparing for SSC CGL, or a future teacher sitting the CTET. The free Samarth CTET batch, open on the app and on YouTube, lets a learner try the teaching style before paying. Students who want a classroom can use the offline centers. Learners outside India's exam system, or who want instruction in English only, are not the audience the classes are built for.
