What PeopleCert is

PeopleCert is the certification body that develops and examines a family of business and IT credentials, and it sells the preparation that goes with them: official mock exams, eLearning, eBooks, masterclasses and a paid membership. It is a product for the LEARNER, typically an IT service manager, project manager or DevOps engineer who needs to pass a named exam and then keep the credential current. Its About page calls PeopleCert "the global leader in the development of best practice frameworks and certifications" and lists a portfolio that includes ITIL, PRINCE2, City & Guilds, LANGUAGECERT and DEVOPS INSTITUTE. The same page says the portfolio reaches 82% of Fortune 500 companies and 800 government agencies through a network of partners and what it describes as an award-winning online proctoring solution.

The Partners page sums the company up in four figures: presence in 200 countries, certifications available in 25 languages, more than 5M certified professionals and more than 7.5K partners. The home page adds that 2 million people are members of its community.

The certifications and how you prepare for them

The core exams are ITIL (which the site calls the global best practice framework for digital product and service management), PRINCE2 for project, program and portfolio management, DevOps Institute credentials, and LANGUAGECERT for language assessment. The site also offers Lean and Lean Six Sigma certifications and Service Desk Institute (SDI) certifications.

ITIL is in the middle of a version change. The home page promotes the new ITIL (Version 5), with a Foundation exam, a Foundation Bridge for ITIL 4 holders who only need the changes, and five follow-on modules: Product, Service, Experience, Strategy and Transformation. A separate ITIL AI Governance (Version 5) credential covers oversight, accountability and risk when an organization adopts AI. PRINCE2 is on Version 7, with Foundation and Practitioner levels, and the home page pitches the PRINCE2 route as a way to "get certified in just 3 days".

The home page lists several ways to prepare: self-study, e-learning, virtual classes and in-person classes, "with or without mock exams, and second chances". PeopleCert sells official eLearning itself and works with a network of partners for classes, and the home page advertises 30% off all PRINCE2 eLearning courses.

Mock exams and Take2

The mock exam page groups the official practice tests into four categories: ITIL, PRINCE2, DEVOPS INSTITUTE and Lean Six Sigma IASSC. The page presents them as practice and a way to deal with exam anxiety: you sit a test in an environment that simulates the exam, so the real one is easier to handle. The Membership page says the mock exams are timed.

Take2 is the re-sit option: a second attempt at an exam if the first one does not go your way. For Plus members both the mock exams and the Take2 retake are included free of charge, according to the Membership page. A member quoted on that page notes that you also see resources "before they are published in an updated publication".

The mock exam page also carries an outcome claim: "7 out of 10 people increased their salaries by 23% after acquiring a certification". The page gives no source or survey date for that figure, so treat it as marketing rather than a measured result.

Exam prices

The home page prints exam voucher prices in euros. The New ITIL Foundation (Version 5) voucher is €639.00, ITIL AI Governance (Version 5) starts from €639.00, and the ITIL Foundation Bridge (Version 5) starts from €215.00. ITIL 4 Foundation is sold as a bundle of the official eLearning course plus the exam voucher, from €639.00. The five ITIL (Version 5) modules each start from €790.00. PRINCE2 Project Management Foundation (Version 7) starts from €641.00 and the Practitioner level from €697.00. DevOps Foundation and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Foundation each start from €505.00. Most prices carry "from", so the final figure depends on the options and location you choose.

Membership: Essential and Plus

The Membership page offers two levels. Essential is "the basic account for you to take your exam and access essential learning resources" and costs nothing: it gathers all your exams and certifications in one place and opens syllabi, glossaries, exam materials, articles and webinars.

Plus costs €125.00 a year including VAT. On top of the Essential items it adds masterclasses and online courses, sample papers for all exams, practice guides and templates, PeopleCert Books with 150+ titles, certification renewal through CPD points, mock exams with the free re-sit, and exclusive digital badges.

The detail behind those lines is specific. The Continuing Professional Development program keeps a certification current when you log 20 CPD points a year for three consecutive years. PeopleCert Books holds ITIL, PRINCE2 and DevOps titles in an online eBook reader, including the ITIL 4 extension modules, MSP, MoP, M_o_R 4 and the Executive Guide to PRINCE2 Agile. For ITIL there are 34 ITIL 4 practice guides, 19 hours of masterclasses and webinars, and 40+ templates and case studies. For PRINCE2 there are 12 hours of masterclasses (series such as PPM Goes Agile and Mastering Project Delivery), 90+ project management templates and a PRINCE2 7 AI practice guide. Two Plus-only eLearning courses cover AI: AI Unlocked, which needs no exam, and ITIL AI Governance Unlocked. DevOps members get playbooks, Blueprints infographics, and SKILup Moments and SKILup Days sessions.

Digital badges are verifiable and earned through member activities, and the page suggests showing them on LinkedIn or a CV. Live masterclasses are open only to Plus members and cover service, project, program and portfolio management.

For training providers and organizations

The Partners page addresses training companies rather than candidates. Partners can resell PRINCE2 7 Official eLearning, can offer Plus memberships to their candidates at up to 35% off, and can join the ACP program for consulting partners, which has moved to peoplecert.org. Partner quotes on the page, from Dell EMC Corporation, Passus Training and Consulting and Service Centrix, mostly concern PeopleCert's audits of their services. The home page also promotes ITIL Tool Day 2026, an online event where ITIL Accredited Tool Vendors present case studies.

On the corporate side, a Carbon Reduction Plan is published by PeopleCert Wisdom Limited to show compliance with the UK Government's Procurement Policy Note PPN 06/21, with plans for 2024 and 2025. The About page says the company is reachable 24/7/365.

Who it suits

PeopleCert suits anyone whose employer or job ad asks for ITIL, PRINCE2 or a DevOps Institute credential, because this is the body that sets and runs those exams. A service desk lead moving to ITIL (Version 5), an ITIL 4 holder who only needs the Bridge, or a project coordinator going for PRINCE2 Foundation will find the voucher, the official mock exams and the re-sit option under one account. Plus makes most sense for people who already hold a credential and must keep it current through CPD points, or who want the official books and templates for daily work rather than only for the exam.

It is less suited to someone shopping for a general course catalog: the material is built around PeopleCert's own frameworks, and vouchers from €505 to €790 are a real cost for a self-funded candidate. Classes are delivered through partners, so the teaching quality depends on the provider you choose.
