PassNova is a UK exam practice website: real exam-style questions, timed mock tests and explanations for 149 courses, "free to start, no sign-up needed." It covers citizenship and driving theory tests, trade and workplace certificates, IT and project management certifications, Functional Skills, GCSEs and A-levels, and a Kids Zone for primary school tests. The home page counts 25,000+ practice questions. Of the 149 courses, 104 are free and stay free, and the other 45 professional certifications open fully with a Premium plan, with a free 15-question taster on each. The site is run by JDS Vanguard Holdings Ltd, a UK company, and says it is "Made in the UK". It is for a learner in Britain who has a specific test coming up, from a learner driver to a construction site manager, a cyber security professional or a parent of a child sitting the 11+.

What a learner gets

A five-step path. Every course follows the same routine. The learner picks a topic and works through exam-style questions, each with a clear explanation. Quick practice then mixes every topic, "so nothing on the day is a surprise", and shows a running accuracy figure. Premium adds a review of weak spots, where questions answered wrongly come back until they stick. Then the learner sits a full mock under exam timing. On courses that have one, Premium finishes with an exam-accurate paper and a pass or fail verdict. A dashboard and an "Am I Ready?" view track progress, and the site says learners can pick up exactly where they left off.

Free professional and everyday courses. The most popular courses are free: the Life in the UK Test (210 questions, 6 mock tests), the Driving Theory Test (258 questions, 6 mocks), Motorcycle Theory, CPC Driver Theory, LGV/HGV and PCV bus and coach theory, the ADI Part 1 test for driving instructors, and ADR dangerous goods. Security courses cover the SIA Door Supervisor, CCTV Operator and Security Officer licenses. Construction and trades include CSCS Health and Safety (229 questions), ECS Health and Safety, CITB SMSTS, SSSTS and the HS&E test for managers, the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, Gas Safe ACS, PAT Testing Level 3, forklift theory and asbestos awareness. Healthcare covers the Care Certificate, First Aid at Work, Mental Health First Aid, Paediatric First Aid, NHS Healthcare Assistant, Pharmacy Technician, the NMC CBT for overseas nurses and for nursing associates, PLAB 1 and the OET. Hospitality has Food Hygiene Level 2, Food Safety Level 3, Food Allergen Awareness and the APLH personal license. There are also the Police Recruitment Test, the Civil Service judgment test (CSJT), QTS Professional Skills, UCAT, IELTS preparation, numerical, verbal, logical and situational judgment tests, ITIL 4 Foundation and several Microsoft fundamentals exams.

Premium professional certifications. The 45 Premium courses are mostly IT, security and project management certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Cloud+, CySA+ and PenTest+, AWS Cloud Practitioner and Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure AZ-900 and AZ-104, Cisco CCNA, CISSP, CISM, CEH, GIAC GSEC and CREST CPSA; PMP, CAPM, PgMP, PRINCE2 Foundation, AgilePM, APM PFQ and PMQ, MSP, M_o_R, MoP, P3O, Change Management and Better Business Cases Foundation, Scrum PSM I and PSPO I, and Lean Six Sigma Yellow and Green Belt. Premium also covers NEBOSH General Certificate, IOSH Managing Safely, ACCA Applied Knowledge, AAT Level 2 Accounting and CeMAP mortgage advice. The site lists the fields with course counts: IT and Cloud 20, Project Management 18, Healthcare 10, Cyber Security 8, Motoring 7, and smaller groups in business and finance, aptitude, construction, electrical and gas, food and hospitality, health and safety, security, public services and teaching.

Functional Skills, school and A-level. A Functional Skills and GCSE strand includes Functional Skills Maths and English at Entry Level, Level 1 and Level 2, Functional Skills Digital Level 1, Essential Digital Skills, GCSE Maths Foundation (328 questions) and Higher, GCSE English Language, GCSE Combined Science, GCSE Equivalency Tests and ESOL Entry 1 to 3. KS3 Maths, English and Science and A-level Maths, Biology, Chemistry (304 questions each) and Psychology are all free.

Kids Zone. For primary school children there are KS1 SATs, KS2 SATs Maths (330 questions) and English, the Phonics Screening Check, Times Tables Practice, the Year 4 Multiplication Check, the 11+ entrance exam with maths, English, verbal and non-verbal reasoning, and short topic quizzes on history, geography, coding, space, weather, plants, birds and other subjects. A "For families" section and a Quiz Hub sit alongside.

Access. Every course runs in the browser on any device, with "no app to install", though the footer also offers a free app. There are no timetables: learners study when it suits them.

Accessibility. An accessibility panel offers read-aloud, three text sizes, easy-read text, high contrast, color tints (cream, blue or rose) and reduced motion, saved on the learner's device, and the footer links a learning support page for SEND learners.

Prices and plans

The free offer is unusually large: "All 104 free courses stay free forever, no sign-up." Premium opens all 45 professional certifications in full and adds an AI tutor, study guides and graded mocks, along with the weak-spot review and the final exam-accurate paper; the Premium price sits on the site's Premium and Pricing pages rather than on the home page. For organizations, enterprise plans for apprenticeship programs, FE colleges and teams of 10+ learners start "from £20/month", with a Team area in the account menu.

Course depth varies. Question counts vary a lot, from 330 questions on KS2 SATs Maths to 30 on the shortest Kids Zone quizzes, and some courses have one mock test rather than six.

Who it suits and who it does not

PassNova suits a UK learner who wants plenty of exam-style practice at no cost: someone preparing for the Life in the UK test or a driving theory test, a security or construction worker renewing a card, a nurse trained overseas facing the NMC CBT, an adult working through Functional Skills, or a parent supporting a child through SATs or the 11+. IT and project management professionals preparing for CompTIA, cloud or PMP exams can test the free taster before deciding on Premium, and training providers and colleges can put groups on an enterprise plan.

It suits less well a learner who needs teaching rather than practice: PassNova is a question bank with explanations and mocks, not a video course or a tutor-led class, so a beginner may need a textbook or course alongside it.
