National Online Insurance School

National Online Insurance School is an online school for people who sell, or want to sell, life and health insurance. It serves two learners with one slogan, "Get Licensed. Stay Licensed.": a newcomer who must pass a state licensing exam before selling life or health insurance, and a licensed agent who must complete continuing education (CE) hours to renew. Pre-licensing courses come with an exam simulator, a readiness tracker called Pass Report and a pass guarantee; the CE courses are completed online and reported to the state. The home page says the school has spent "18+ Years" supporting licensed insurance agents, and the copyright line runs from 2008.

What a pre-licensing student gets

A state-specific course. Every course starts with a choice of state, from a list covering every state and Washington D.C., and the license line: Life, Health, or Life & Health. The FAQ says the school is "certified in all states where pre-licensing education is required", that its school ID appears on each applicable state course page, and that in states with no certification requirement the same material is offered, "based on the state's content outline." The lessons are described as clear and exam-focused, written to simplify key concepts and help students retain what matters on exam day.

For newcomers unsure what a license allows, the FAQ explains it. A life license lets an agent sell life insurance (whole, term, burial, credit and other types), fixed annuities and endowments. A health license covers major medical policies under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, critical illness, disability, long-term care and Medicare supplement insurance, among others.

Access and pace. Every enrollment includes 60 days of course access, starting when the student begins the course, and the home page promises instant access after purchase. The FAQ says most students prepare for the state exam "in one to two weeks", though the timeline can range from a few days to a few weeks depending on state requirements, required course hours and study pace. The course is self-paced, so students can take the time they need to build consistent practice-exam scores before booking the real exam.

The Exam Simulator. The practice engine holds 3,000+ exam-style questions. A student builds an exam on specific topics or a simulation of the full state exam, takes it, and then reviews each missed question with an explanation. The school says its practice exams "mirror the format, timing, and question style of the state licensing exam", and attempts are unlimited. A free sample exam on the simulator page lets a visitor try it before buying, choosing Life & Health, Life or Health questions and a length of 10, 15 or 20 questions. One student quoted on the page, Eliseo from Eagle Lake, FL, says it let him "focus on the topics that I found more difficult instead of spending too much time on the basics I already knew."

Pass Report. This is the school's readiness tracker. The FAQ says it analyzes lesson progress, practice exam results and the final exam score to show when a student is ready for the state exam, and the simulator page adds that it shows performance across practice exams and identifies weak areas. The school claims it "helps cut study time, doubles your chance of passing, and gives you confidence on exam day."

The Guarantee Pass. The pass guarantee is included at no extra cost with pre-licensing courses. The FAQ sets out the condition: pass two consecutive practice exams in the simulator and sit the state exam soon afterward. A student who then fails keeps full course access until they pass, or can request a full refund. The home page says students who follow the Guarantee Pass program "achieve a 92% success rate on the state exam", a figure the company gives for that group of students, not for every enrollee.

Instructor help. Licensed instructors are available seven days a week for the length of the enrollment. Questions go through an Ask an Instructor feature inside the course, and answers come back in writing, which the FAQ notes is useful for reviewing later.

Continuing education for licensed agents

The CE side is for agents already licensed. The FAQ says continuing education is required to renew and keep an active license in every state where the school offers approved CE courses, and that requirements vary by state and license type. The courses are approved by state insurance departments where applicable, with approval details on each state-specific CE page, and dedicated CE pages are linked for California, Florida and Texas. Every CE course is completed fully online at the agent's own pace. The home page promises instant completion certificates, and the FAQ says credits are reported according to each state's reporting guidelines, typically on the same day the completion requirements are met. A requirements page by state shows renewal rules and approved course options. William, a CE student from Riverside, CA, is quoted saying he "needed CE credits to renew my license and this course made it simple."

Practical details

Courses run in any modern web browser on a PC, tablet or smartphone; an internet connection is the only requirement. The FAQ answers a common worry about personal data: the school does not ask for a Social Security Number at enrollment, but some states require it when the school reports course completion to the Department of Insurance, in which case it is requested after sign-in. The school says the number is encrypted and stored in a separate HIPAA-compliant database, isolated from other personal data.

Enrollment starts by selecting a state and education type, and a phone line is offered for questions. The checkout cart shows a subtotal, a separate "State Reporting Fee" line and a total, and carries a "30-Day Money-Back Guarantee" banner. Course prices appear only once a state course is chosen; the home page and FAQ show none. The footer also links a testimonials page, a partners page, agent resources and licensing articles.

Who it suits and who it does not

The school suits an adult in any US state who wants a first life or health insurance license and prefers to study alone, quickly, on a phone or laptop, with heavy use of practice exams. The simulator, Pass Report and the guarantee are built around that learner: drill until the scores are consistent, then book the exam. It equally suits a licensed agent in a state where its CE is approved who wants to finish renewal hours online and have them reported promptly.

It does not suit someone who wants a live class, a cohort or a set timetable, since everything is self-paced with written instructor support. The license lines on the pages are life and health; a candidate for a property and casualty license will not find that course described here. And because access lasts 60 days, a student who plans to stretch preparation over several months should time the start of the course accordingly.
