ITSM Hub

Tap a star to rate

ITSM Hub is an IT service management training and consulting company whose self-paced online courses prepare IT professionals for certification exams in ITIL, PRINCE2, COBIT, ISO/IEC 27001, Agile and a large family of AI+ credentials. The site says it supports IT organizations across Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom, and it describes itself as "an accredited training provider with PeopleCert, EXIN, and APMG International". The self-paced catalog, which this entry covers, is a learner product: a professional buys a course, studies at home on their own schedule, and sits an online exam with a voucher that comes with the course. Teams can buy the same courses in volume.

How a self-paced course works

The model is simple and spelled out on the catalog page. Courses are designed "for participants to learn at their own speed", from home and at any time of day. Every course gives 12 months of access and, in the company's words, includes "everything required to prepare for the examination". Online exam vouchers from the accredited examination bodies are provided with the course, and the voucher includes an exam re-sit. A learner who fails the first attempt can therefore try again without buying a second exam, which is the feature most likely to matter to someone paying for a high-stakes ITIL or PRINCE2 certificate.

Purchases run through a store with a learner account that lists "My courses" and order history. Prices are shown in Australian dollars by default, and the store can switch to USD, NZD or GBP. Most product names spell out the bundle: "Course & Examination" for single certifications and "Foundation & Practitioner Bundle" for the two-level PRINCE2 packages.

What the catalog covers

The catalog page lists 49 self-paced online courses, and the wider training menu shows the certification areas the company works in: Agile, Artificial Intelligence, Better Business Cases, Business Relationship Management, Change Management, COBIT, Design Thinking, DevOps, DVMS NIST Cyber Resilience, ISO/IEC 27001, IT Asset Management, ITIL Version 5, ITIL 4, IT Leadership, IT Service Management, Lean IT, PRINCE2, Service Desk Institute and SIAM.

The self-paced courses fall into four groups.

ITIL Version 5 bundles. The Strategic Leader and Practice Manager certification bundles are each priced at $5,150.00 AUD, and the Managing Professional certification bundle at $8,500.00 AUD. These are the most expensive items on the page and the core of the ITSM offer.

Governance, security and project management. COBIT 2019 Foundation is sold as a self-paced course and examination for $1,050.00 AUD. ISO/IEC 27001 comes at three levels, Foundation, Practitioner and an audit-focused course, each at $995.00 AUD with the exam. PRINCE2 7 Foundation & Practitioner and PRINCE2 Agile (Version 2) Foundation & Practitioner are both bundles at $2,900.00 AUD.

AI+ certifications. A long list of role-based AI+ courses, each sold as "Course & Examination". AI+ Engineer, AI+ Developer and AI+ Data are $795.00 AUD each. The rest are $350.00 AUD each: AI+ Everyone, Executive, Ethics, Government, Supply Chain, Educator, Learning & Development, Finance, Researcher, Human Resources, Chief AI Officer, Writer, Legal, Product Manager, Customer Service, Marketing, Sales, Project Manager and Prompt Engineer Level 1. A banner across the site promotes a separate ITIL AI Governance course, which covers "the ITIL AI Capability Model, AI benefits and risk, and how regulation shapes AI governance".

Micro-credentials. Short courses on a single skill. SIAM Essentials is $149.00 AUD and Scrum Essentials $125.00 AUD. Fourteen others are listed at $0.00 AUD: Agile Essentials, Introduction to Agile Coaching, Becoming an Agile Coach, Agile Coaching Skills, Coaching for Change, Coaching for Transformation, Metrics for Team Success, Process Improvement: From Analysis to Action, Get Started with AI Prompt Engineering, AI for Scrum Masters, AI for Product Owners, AI for Product Discovery and Strategy, Agile for Marketing and Agile for HR. For a learner who wants to try the format before spending thousands on an ITIL bundle, these are the obvious place to start.

Beyond self-paced study

The self-paced catalog sits inside a larger business, and the menu shows what else a learner or a team can buy from the same company.

  • Business simulations: team games that put frameworks into practice, including Challenge of Egypt (Agile project management), Design Thinking in Action, Grab@Pizza (IT and business alignment), MarsLander (an ITSM simulation) and Phoenix Project (DevOps in action).
  • Memberships: a PeopleCert Plus Membership, plus a Cyber Awareness & Phishing offer.
  • Customized workshops for organizations that want training built around their own needs.
  • Consulting: maturity assessments and reviews (ITIL Maturity Assessment, ITSM Rapid Review, SIAM Maturity Assessment, P3M3 Maturity Assessment, DVMS Cybersecurity Culture Assessment), strategy and implementation work (a service improvement roadmap, ITSM practice design, documentation and implementation), and coaching and mentoring under the heading "Your ITSM Uplift Journey".
  • Managed services: a managed service desk and labor hire and contractors.

For a training manager, this means the same supplier can certify staff, run a simulation day and assess the service desk's maturity. For an individual learner, it mainly signals that the company's trainers and consultants work in ITSM day to day.

Buying for a team and getting help

Team buyers are invited to request a quote for the self-paced courses, and a "Not sure where to start?" panel offers a strategy call to map training requirements for an individual or a team and recommend courses. Support runs through a phone line (1300 424 025), a contact page, an on-site chatbot called Hub Assistant, and a resources section. Course terms and conditions and a copyright and accreditation page are linked from the footer.

Who it suits

ITSM Hub's self-paced courses suit IT professionals in Australia, New Zealand or the UK who need an ITIL, PRINCE2, COBIT or ISO/IEC 27001 certification and prefer to study alone over a few months instead of sitting a classroom course. The 12-month access window and the included re-sit make the larger bundles less of a gamble. Service managers and CIOs can use the ITIL Version 5 Strategic Leader and Practice Manager tracks, security and compliance staff can take the ISO/IEC 27001 courses, up to the audit level, and anyone curious about AI in their own job can pick a role-based AI+ course for a few hundred dollars. The free micro-credentials give agile teams and coaches a low-risk start.

It also suits IT organizations that want one partner for certification, simulations and service management consulting. The limitation is the delivery model of this catalog: these courses are self-study, so a learner who needs a live trainer to keep them on track should look at the company's workshops or plan their own study routine before buying a bundle.
