Achievable
Tap a star to rate
Achievable is an online exam prep company that sells self-study courses for professional licensing, medical and college admissions exams. The homepage calls it "Fun, effective, and efficient interactive exam prep courses," and it promises strong exam prep at a low price. The company is Achievable, Inc., and its copyright line runs from 2016. It serves individual test takers, from a new securities representative to a medical student, and through an enterprise offer it also works with organizations that need people to pass exams.
What the catalog covers
The course list is broad. In securities and finance it covers the SIE, Series 6, 7, 9, 10, 63, 65 and 66, plus ACCA Financial Accounting, the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting, CMA Part 1, CFP and both parts of the IRS Enrolled Agent exam. Insurance licensing covers life, health, property, casualty and personal lines. Healthcare covers the MCAT, USMLE, NCLEX, PTCE, ExCPT, both NPTE exams for physical therapists and assistants, MBLEx for massage therapists and CCMA for clinical medical assistants. For college and graduate admissions there are ACT, CLT, GRE and SAT courses, prep for the AMC 8/10/12 math contests, and nine AP subjects. Teachers can prepare for the Praxis Core exams, and an "Other" group holds ASVAB, FE Civil and Mechanical, CSCS and CCNA. Visitors can also "Suggest a new course."
How the courses work
Each course is an online textbook plus a large bank of quizzes run by an adaptive engine. The homepage says "Ditch the textbook. Achievable is a complete learning solution backed by award-winning content experts," and that its algorithms "create and continually update a personalized map of your memory, giving you refresher quizzes at the perfect moment." Learners are "continually quizzed on both new and review material," and the system tracks "what you know and what needs more work," adjusting the study schedule from their habits.
The writing style is a deliberate choice: "Other exam prep material is dry and academic. We write our courses to be easy to read, using casual language and straightforward examples." Video is secondary. The Series 63 page says learners "won't have to sit through 100+ hours of boring Series 63 video lectures," and adds bonus explainer videos for visual learners. An adaptive study planner creates "a personalized day-by-day study plan" so the content is finished by exam day, and progress charts show strength in each section.
The site cites two pieces of learning research behind the design: repeated testing "led to a 45% improvement in test scores over a non-testing study-only approach" (Karpicke & Roediger, 2003), and distributed practice "led to approximately 46% better recall than traditional study methods for the same material" (Modigliani and Hedges, 1987). These are results from the studies, not measurements of Achievable courses.
The platform is built "Mobile first," and the company says it designed it "to be a best-in-class mobile experience" rather than a desktop course squeezed onto a phone.
Example: Series 63
The Series 63 course shows what one purchase contains: an "Easy-to-understand online textbook," 300+ chapter quizzes, 6+ practice exams and 12+ bonus videos, for $79 as a "One-time payment" with a "Full year of access." The practice exams are full length and "weighted according to the official FINRA Series 63 exam rubric," and the author is described as having "15+ years of licensing experience." The page lists per-topic flashcard quizzes, dynamic quizzes for formulas, an exam readiness score and an instructor hotline with an "Average 60 minutes (within 24 hours)" response. It reports a 95%+ first-time pass rate and a rating of 4.7/5 "based on 30,000+ reviews."
Example: USMLE Step 1
The USMLE Step 1 course costs $179, also a one-time payment for a full year. It includes a "Concise online textbook" and 1,400+ review questions, with the same adaptive engine and study planner. It adds an AI tutor: "Stuck on a key medical concept or formula? Our AI tutor replies immediately with clear explanations and clinical examples so you never lose momentum." The company says Ask Achievable AI "is fine-tuned to the exam's structure, content, terminology, and common pitfalls."
The page introduces a contributor, Sujata Arecanteparamb, M.D., founder of GraceUSMLE, described as "a 250+ USMLE scorer with more than 10 years experience as a Clinician and Medical Tutor." It also summarizes the exam itself: about 280 multiple-choice questions over 8 hours, with an exam fee of $660. A quote from Nicholas Flint, Co-Founder of AnKing, says the course "gets right to the point" and that "Multiple schools have vetted and approved this resource, including Georgetown and Duke." The page adds: "We're required to note that Achievable is not affiliated with these universities."
Quality control
Every course, the company says, "is built by a team of seasoned professionals with deep subject-matter and exam expertise, who define every testable objective and map it into FACTS™, our Framework of Assessed Curriculum and Testable Skills." It argues that generative AI has made it easy to flood the market with unverified study content, and says all of its material "clears expert pedagogical review."
Prices, free start and guarantee
Pricing is one fixed price per course. The pages say there are "No complicated package tiers to compare" and promise "No hidden fees or upsells." Each course can be tried before buying: the first chapter is free "plus a few bonus pages," and "Try Achievable for free, no credit card required." One reviewer on the USMLE page liked that "you get a portion free without subscribing."
The guarantee is the headline: "Pass guaranteed, or your money back. It's that simple. No study time requirements or study progress thresholds are needed to qualify." The company presents it as the strongest guarantee in its field.
Scale and reviews
Achievable reports a 95%+ success rate, 200M+ questions answered and 3M+ hours studied. Homepage testimonials are short and specific. Emma wrote that it "helped me more than the 300-page textbook I read," and Stephen that the material "sticks" thanks to "Achievable's system of introducing new material, followed by review quizzes to master previous readings." The site also links to scholarships, tutors, awards, a blog, a YouTube channel and a podcast, and offers call or text support.
Who it suits and who it does not
Achievable suits self-directed test takers who prefer reading and quizzing to long video lectures: a new hire who needs the SIE and Series 7, an insurance agent getting licensed, a medical student who wants a compact Step 1 review alongside other resources, or a high school student preparing for the SAT or an AP exam. The low one-time prices, free first chapter and pass guarantee make it easy to try. Employers can use the enterprise program to put a whole team through licensing.
It suits less well someone who learns mainly from live classes or long video courses, since the courses are text and quiz first. The USMLE page itself presents the course as "a great addition to your study stack" rather than the only resource a medical student needs.
