What Programiz Is
Programiz is a learn-to-code site for beginners, built around two things: free text tutorials for the most common programming languages, and free online compilers that run code in the browser. Its paid side, Programiz PRO at programiz.pro, adds interactive courses, coding challenges, projects, an AI helper and certificates for learners who want structure and practice on top of the free material. The About page says "4.9 Million monthly users rely on Programiz to learn programming", and describes the people behind it as "a small team of passionate developers constantly working to create programming resources that's accurate and easier to understand." The site's footer names Parewa Labs Pvt. Ltd. as the company. The About page's description tells the origin story of a founder who started writing simple C and C++ tutorials with examples after late 2011 because students struggled to find them, and says "What started as a hobby has now grown into a full-time job."
The reader here is a learner, usually a beginner: a student taking a first programming class, someone self-teaching Python, or a developer who wants a quick reference and a place to run a snippet.
The Free Tutorials
Programiz offers step-by-step tutorials for Python, SQL, R, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, C, C++, C#, Go, Kotlin, Swift, Rust and Ruby, plus a separate track for data structures and algorithms (DSA). The home page sums up the format as "Learn programming step by step. Each lesson contains plenty of practical code that you can run directly in your browser."
Each language has a landing page that works as a short guide. The C page, for example, explains what C is used for (compilers, operating systems, embedded systems), asks "Is C for you?", and then lays out the full tutorial sequence: getting started and a first program, variables, data types and input and output, operators, if...else, loops, switch and goto, functions and recursion, arrays and multidimensional arrays, pointers and dynamic memory allocation, strings, structs and unions, file handling, and extra topics such as bitwise operators, the preprocessor and enums. The Java and C++ pages follow the same pattern. The language guides even compare a few lines of C with the same program in Python, so a beginner can see the trade-off before choosing.
Beyond tutorials, the site carries example programs for Python, R, JavaScript, Java, C, C++ and Kotlin, and reference pages such as Python built-in functions and list, dictionary and string methods.
The language pages are honest about learning styles. Under "Best Way to Learn C", Programiz recommends its free text tutorial for anyone "committed to learning C but do not want to spend on it", its paid interactive course for anyone who wants hands-on learning and tracked progress, its own C programming playlist for beginners or a freeCodeCamp course for visual learners, and mobile apps only for casual learners, since writing real projects on a phone is hard. The page closes with advice that sums up the approach: "You cannot learn to code without developing the habit of writing code yourself."
Online Compilers
The compilers are the other half of the free product. The home page promises "Online compilers in 20+ programming languages that run in your browser without any setup" and "No installation or sign up needed." Editors and compilers are listed for Python, JavaScript, SQL, Java, HTML, C, C++, C#, PHP, Swift, Kotlin, TypeScript, Go, Rust, Scala, Dart, R and Ruby. The home page says the site is "Used by millions of users to compile 100+ million programs each year." For a learner, this means you can follow a tutorial on a school or library computer and run every example without installing anything; the C page still advises installing a compiler locally once you build projects with multiple files.
Mobile Apps
The About page lists Programiz apps for iOS and Android: Learn Python, Learn C Programming, Learn Java and Learn C++. Programiz's own language pages position these apps for casual learners who want to try things out rather than as the main way to study.
Programiz PRO: Courses, Challenges and Certificates
Programiz PRO is the paid learning platform. Its home page says "1.6M+ learners already ahead" and organizes study into learning paths for Python, C++, Java, C, SQL, HTML, JavaScript and DSA. The featured path, "Job-Ready with Python", is described as 2 months and 4 courses aimed at data scientist, data analyst and backend engineer roles. It moves from Python Basics (with a number guessing game and a Rock, Paper, Scissors portfolio project) to Python Intermediate (object-oriented programming, a guided Tic Tac Toe project and a 2048 game with a GUI and animations), then Python Interview Questions with 100+ practice questions, and ends with a Python certification. Separate challenge sets exist for Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript and SQL.
PRO's tools are named on the home page:
- Code Visualizer, described as a flagship feature that "breaks down your code line-by-line" so a learner can see why a program behaves as it does.
- Built-in Playground, a place to practice and build projects without maintaining several IDEs and language versions.
- sensAI, "your built-in AI coding buddy in Programiz PRO", which helps fix errors, explains code and gives hints.
On completion, learners earn certificates. The PRO page calls them "Industry-recognized certificates that prove real skills" and suggests adding them to a resume and LinkedIn; these are certificates issued by Programiz for its own courses, not vendor or academic credentials. The PRO site also links to pages for educators and students, a discussion area and an FAQ. Short learner testimonials appear with names and countries, such as Jeff Snow from the USA: "Programiz PRO helped me finally balance learning with real coding practice."
Pricing
The tutorials, examples, references and online compilers on programiz.com are free. Programiz PRO offers a free start: its home page buttons read "Start Free Trial" and "Start learning for FREE", and its footer links to a pricing page. The most specific price on the Programiz PRO site is in a March 2024 article on its own resources blog, which lists Programiz PRO at "$20/month ( with 7-day free trial )" including "Unlimited access to all courses and project saves in Playground". The same article describes the Master Python Learning Path as 6 courses, from Learn Python Basics through DSA with Python and Python Interview Questions. Check the pricing page for the current amount before subscribing.
Who Programiz Suits
Programiz suits beginners who learn well from reading and running small examples, and anyone who wants a quick, free place to execute code in any of the languages its compilers cover, without setting up a machine. Students working through C, C++, Java or Python in a course will find the tutorial order close to a typical syllabus, and the DSA track and interview questions help with job preparation.
Learners who want more structure, projects to show and feedback while they code can step up to Programiz PRO, with its guided paths, challenges, code visualizer, sensAI helper and completion certificates. Programiz is less suited to advanced developers looking for deep coverage of frameworks or specialized fields, to anyone who prefers live instruction, and to learners who need a third-party certification rather than a course certificate.
